Update: An earlier headline for this post stated that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is coming to PS Vita, which was incorrect. Type-0 is coming to PS4 in North America and Europe.
I’d like to start this out by thanking everyone who let us know how badly you wanted this game to come to North America. Ever since the original PlayStation Portable release in Japan, you guys have never given up on it, raising your voices in an effort to see this title come to North America and Europe. Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s coming and it’s going to be in HD.

Zero effort, SCEA. Why don’t you just discontinue the Vita in the western market, since like it seems you’re very eager to do it. And classic SE abandoning their strongest supporters.

Usually when companies make a goof, they say something like:
“(company) regrets the error”
Even on review sites like IGN or GameSpot will you see that, and that’s for MINOR FACTUAL ERRORS that people aren’t even mad about. No company is perfect, and even though a statement like that is a standard formality, it is appreciated, even if nobody cares about the factual error they made.
Square just angered a ton of people and not a single apology is in sight. I’m not saying that’s the thing that bothers me the most, but it shows their lack of professionalism.
Square is much better at ripping content out of gamea and selling it piece by piece with silly preorder stuff and on-disc DLC.
@Hakumen: I would, but on mobile it sucks unless the post is above the dialog box. xP easier to remember a number than a name (some are harder than others :p)

You know what would make me smile, seeing Type-0 sell more on Xb1 than PS4 while stll selling poorly like all FFs do on Xbox compared to PS platforms. That would bring great happiness

Pitiful. Absolutely pitiful and insulting to Vita owners. Many of us even bough X/X-2 in hopes they’d bring it here on Vita, or even PSP. But to circumvent it and bring a PSP game to PS4?

@493 Huh?? The PS consoles for multiplatform games like Tomb Raider, Tekken, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid and lots of others sell a lot better on say PS3 then Xb360. So all I was saying before was since the PS fans wanted it on the Vita I’d be funny to see type-0 sell better on Xb1 then PS4 as normally the game would sell like twice as much on PS4.
I just hope to God that THIS WILL BE PORTED TO THE VITA… But nevertheless, Awesome work and Thanks SE..
I would just like to add that I had waited so long for this on the PSP, it is heart-breaking to not have the HD game come to the Vita. But I understand that Sony is moving on, and so should I. I’ll keep my Vita around as an Ultimate indie machine; which is still awesome. I won’t expect anything nice and shiny.
Still waiting for FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE, plus a Crissis Core HD (PS3, PS4 or VITA) and a NEW DISSIDIA.
But, since I know that Square Enix don’t like MONEY, they probably won’t make those games…
BUT I can dream with those games… Can I?

There’s over 500 comments here. Most of these are expressing their disappointment of no Vita version, not to mention other forums in which there’s people sharing this disappointment too. Please, release this on the Vita.
You know what’s the best part? Even if we do get them to listen, I can’t wait for a horrible port like the rest of the ports on the vita with horrible frame rate (primary concern) issues.

It’s seriously time for the vita to get some sort of support shown for it. Indie games can be nice and all but we need big name titles to help the system stay strong. I’d buy it on PS4 if you include Crisis Core as I can’t play that on my Vita either, but I’d prefer them on my Vita. Still can’t support Type-0 by itself as I never heard anyone asking for it on PS3 or 4 it was always Vita/PSP owners asking for it.
This is pretty insulting to VITA owners. It’s absolutely ridiculous that a PLAYSTATION PORTABLE game hasn’t been given to loyal vita owners, but instead is being given to the PS4. What was the logic going through SE’s head when they decided that was a good decision? SE hasn’t shown poor judgement and decision making over and over again (THREE FF13 games, no PC support, no VITA support). Now for a second there’s a glimmer of hope only to be destroyed in seconds with no apology, news, logic, or reasoning. Clearly the demand for the title is there. There is absolutely no reason for SE to continue to make such awful decisions. I guess buying X/X-2 VITA was meaningless to show my support. It’s absolutely baffling. Sony is no less to blame here as well. Their constant neglect for the VITA despite the loyal fan base and high demand for even already existing titles to be localized is inexcusable. Some E3 this has turned out to be.
Been waiting so many years….and it comes on PS4. Well I guess I will have wait a bit longer till PS4 price is reduced.

Other than the obvious troll move from SE, what makes me sad is that some people selling their Vita over this, and thus lower the sales of games that smaller publishers bring, and thus even less support for Vita even from small companies that used to support it. I suppose this is already a downward spiral now with almost no chance of recovering.
