I didn’t read the comments and regret trying to update my PS3 as well… it’s fried and stuck on the XMB loading loop as well. Going to try and download 4.41 to a USB key and get it to boot into recovery mode.
At least with PS+ my saves are backed up, but if I have to redownload everything to my 1TB drive that was almost full… I’m going to be pissed.
Does anybody even test this crap?
So, I ended up having to format my hard drive. 1 TB. Lost all data. Now, it’s just a black screen when I start the system. Thank you so much sony. Thousands of dollars gone to waste.
I WAS WILLING TO BUY IT …. But now i won’t…unless sony issue an appologie and a patch to correct the issue.
This is one thing to don’t really care Vita gamers lately, it is an other to flood the system with bad ports of PS2 games. How Come Jak cannot run smooth, when Killzone blows mind ??? How come MGS collection are between 60 and 30 fps ???

I have been a big Sony supporter lately, especially about the vita, but this is unacceptable PEOPLE SHOULD BOYCOTT this release unless the issues are patched…

@159 Yeah, I discovered that after testing. At least I leave on vacation for a week starting on Friday, so I just have to live without it for a few days, then surely they’ll have it fixed by the time I’m back. Figures it happens just before I get to start The Last of Us though…

Update seems cool…not like I would know since I just turned on my ps3 and it told me there was a mandatory software update (4.41).
I install the update from the internet, walk away and let it do it’s thing. I hear it reboot and I find it on that stupid swirly color screen. Controller won’t sync, can’t manually turn it off and nothing works. Thanks Sony, that’s how you support your fans!
Yup, same problem with the update here. Just did the update without thinking twice since it popped up on my screen. Now stuck at the swirly screen. I can even force it to power off. I have to pull the power plug out.
Firmware 4.45 just bricked my PS3 Slim 1TB, just like many others. It looks like it’s only bricking PS3’s with an HDD of 500GB or larger. Is that the case? When will Sony be patching the Firmware?
Same problem with the 4.45 system update here! Seems like it’s general. I hope that Sony brings us a fix soon.

Mostly good stuff, but I always like seeing more Vita and PSP content.
Also: Sonic Master Collection??? Sonic 3 (and Knuckles) would make it more complete, maybe Sonic 3D Blast, though 3D Blast isn’t necessary. Possibly Sonic Spinball, which I personally liked. I can see not including the Saturn games since they were either a compilation or a Racing game (which may be hard to emulate). Why not include Sonic the Fighters?

Well, I think Sony pulled the update, which means that anyone who hasn’t updated yet won’t get the prompt to update now. That’s good. Should be able to play online without any problems.
Sony fix your FW. If I lose my saves files (no I didn’t backup everything to the cloud.). I’ll be pissed, and this may affect my PS4 purchase.. No I’m not joking. I see you guys pulled the update, but the damage is done. I pray you guys have a fix, because the backlash the Xbox One is receiving, is nothing compared to whats heading your way.

Yep, the update has been pulled. Logged into PSN through my PS3 just now, and it didn’t prompt for an update. Checked the System Update on the XMB as well, and it said I already have the latest version installed (4.41).
So, if you haven’t updated yet, you’re safe now.

But Now I want to purchase them through discount, but PS store says I already purchased it (due to previous downloads). When my Plus membership expires, I won’t be able to access these games, that’s why I want to buy them.

No :( OMG NO :( of course me just trying to do as I’m told, I update my PS3 and it bricks my system. Then I try formatting and it does nothing and I lost EVERYTHING :( all my saves, all my games I had downloaded on a 1 TB hard drive. I lost it all :( and of course I didn’t back up my saves to the cloud :( and on top of it all, I just bought The Last Of Us last night and now I can’t play it :( to say I’m devastated right now would be an understatement :( all my saves….all of them….gone forever :( why didn’t I back them up to the cloud :'(

I am surprised Sony has not posted an update on the Playstation Blog warning people to not download the firmware update. Even though it may be taken down now but they still could of least warned some people as soon as they heard about it. I guess Sony does not want to post anything negative about the PS3 on the playstation blog. There should at LEAST be a message stating and telling users that there is a problem and that they are trying to fix it.

I’m also on the bricked list. My 80GB Fat MGS PS3 with 1TB HDD Upgrade is sitting waiting for Firmware 4.46 to install via safe-mode. Was going to hit the D&D Demo and grab my PS+ Games… then play more of The Last of Us… ..of which my saves (in second playthrough) aren’t backed up yet (Generally do it on Fridays).
Bleh. Hope it fixes without reformatting… Really don’t want to lose my saves…
