Killzone: Shadow Fall on PS4: Conversations with Creators

With Killzone Shadow Fall, we are part of an exciting line up of launch titles for PS4. This is both daunting and exciting, but a good feeling to have!

Since the game’s announcement earlier this year at the PlayStation Meeting 2013, we have been hard at work on Killzone Shadow Fall. At the event, we were able to give you a brief glimpse of the direction we are taking the game with live on-stage gameplay. The demonstration focused on setting up the new conflict between the two warring factions that now occupy the same world, we are very much looking forward to sharing more of the exciting new gameplay opportunities soon.

Today we are happy to show you a developer diary as part of PlayStation’s Conversations with Creators. In this video, we briefly talk about what it means to us to be a launch title on this new platform.

Killzone: Shadow Fall is scheduled for a Holiday 2013 release, and will be available exclusively on PS4.

  • Killzone Shadowfall looking sick. Day one must buy.

  • @93 KGH People seemed to hate him mostly because he killed Visari. And I agree, please keep Rico and don’t kill him off. He’s one of my favorite characters in the game.

  • As someone who played the crap out of KZ2, I have 100% of trophies, and a lot of KZ3, I have the platinum, I am a big fan of GG. I am mainly worried about multiplayer, because I have always been satisfied with the singleplayer. KZ2 had some epic 32 player battles that sometimes went on for hours. I remember fighting in war zone over planting a bomb for about 25-30 minutes, and rushing in and dropping a spawn grenade right as I died and that changing the course of the match. Oh, if only PS3 had the share button so people could see how crazy and tense KZ2 battles where, I think the sales would have doubled. Now, KZ3 had much improved controls and some awesome ideas with the mechs and backpacks, but it felt like part of the EPIC fights were lost with not being able to have 32 players and custom rules that made for absurdly (in a good way) long battles. I think the new game looks beautiful, but can you share any insight into how you’re balancing the best parts of KZ2 and KZ3 in KZ Shadowfall?

Sorry for the long comment, but Killzone does that to me.

  • I like down time in my FPS experience. I enjoyed that the trailer showed some normal life before the chaos ensued. Can we expect more down time? For me, it helps me connect more emotionally to what I’m fighting for. That contrast between peace and destruction is a big win for me :)

I really have to give it to yall because the images look amazing especially the city all i have to say is just wow……

  • Very excited about the PS4 and the new killzone. I can’t wait to be able to play this once it’s out.

But please SONY, fire your ad agency! The drawings and animation are embarrassingly bad. Your trying to show off cutting edge, sophisticated hardware and software; that so many professional people have worked on but then you have these intros that look like they were done by high school kids. I’m sorry to vent, but I feel like this is hurting the brand. Please step up the production quality.

  • @Steven Ter Heide
Is this game PS Move and 3D compatible?
    Thank you.

  • I have read on other sites that the new Killzone will not be move compatable or in 3d, is this true? i hope not cause i really enjoyed killzone 3 with the move controller. if not i might have to skip this one. i just prefer the game that way.

  • lets make a petition for killzone shadow fall at 60hz even if we have to wait until 2014 after seeing destiny running at 60hz I am dissaponited in killzone looks shoppy but they can still make it happen there is still time left not reserving the game until they increase the frame rate.

  • I really hope Killzone: Shadow Fall will have PS move support. Killzone 3 with the PS Move controlled really well, and I was a lot more accurate with my shots.
