The Drop: Week of May 27th 2013 New Releases

Fuse follows a team of four elite agents obliterating enemy strongholds using fringe-tech gadgets and lethal teamwork. The members of Overstrike 9 are comprised of an ex-mercenary, Interpol’s most wanted thief, a gifted young scientist and a decorated detective. Collectively, they are the agency’s outcasts.

But a shadowy organization threatens to wipe out humankind. Thanks to each agent’s unique talents and a tendency to completely ignore protocol – Overstrike 9 is the only option left. Fuse blends developer Insomniac Games’ flair for exotic weaponry and immersive storytelling with a touch of humor in this 4 person co-op action game for PS3. Enjoy this week’s The Drop.

What happens when humans take possession of volatile alien technology they were never meant to have? Find out the hard way in Fuse, a four-person co-op action shooter that puts players in command of contact team Overstrike 9 — four elite agents, each with their own unique skills and experimental weapons. In story-driven, cooperative action, players must thwart a rogue paramilitary organization called Raven from stealing the deadly alien energy source known as Fuse. Your team — Dalton Brooks, Izzy Sinclair, Jacob Kimble and Naya Deveraux — will pursue Raven around the world, from the fortified desert facility to underwater bases, island strongholds, icy mountain peaks, palatial hideouts and beyond.

Even solo players can experience the unique attributes of each agent by using the game’s LEAP feature to switch between the four characters at will during combat. Each agent is equipped with unique skills and weapons not only integral for survival, but that also allows for unexpected and extraordinary results. Experimental Fuse weapons give players unique capabilities that expand their strategic options in and out of combat. Players can play either online or offline and level up along unique character paths, allowing players to unlock more powerful Fuse-driven abilities as the game progresses. In addition, the game’s progression system is unified between different play modes, allowing players to continue improving their agents regardless of how they play.

Part of a long string of blockbuster racing games (including TOCA Championship Racing, Pro Race Driver and the original Grid), Grid 2 challenges players to be fast, be first and be famous as they enter a stunning new world of competitive motorsport. Following the success of Race Driver: Grid — which set new standards for damage, AI, visuals and introduced the Flashback time rewind feature (now adopted by many racing games) — Grid 2 will again raise the gameplay and technological bar for motorsport gaming and remain true to the series’ core value — it’s all about the race. Grid 2 will also introduce the new TrueFeel Handling System, which uses real physics to hit a sweet spot between accessibility and simulation to deliver handling that is approachable yet challenging to master.

Going behind the wheel of a handpicked selection of automotive icons spanning four decades and three continents — USA, Europe and Asia — players will race their way to the top of Grid 2’s new, evolving world of motorsport. From Paris to Dubai, Miami to the sun-kissed California coast and beyond, beautifully created city streets, licensed circuits and edge-of-control mountain roads will become home to the most visceral and exhilarating races in games. Grid 2 also sets new standards for a racing multiplayer experience with an entirely distinct and extensive gameplay component and unique progression system. Deep customization options and integration with RaceNet will offer further immersion and connectivity to extend each player’s GRID 2 experience.

  • Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom on PSN!! More PSone Classics!!

  • Oh, so no Velocity Ultra for us this month, I see… :(

  • the first Souls sacrifuce DLC will be release this week, isnt it?

  • Someone please tell to Sony that they have a Portable console named Vita.

  • Ape Escape as a Psone classic… someday? T^T

  • @4
Yep. The Soul Sacrifice DLC is out this week.

  • The Warriors Cant wait to play this gem once again. Dammit I’m losing sleep over this even can’t wait two days!

  • Agree everything else is meh…there will be way more than this in the update though. Hope for some good discounts.

  • Cool, will I finally be able to play Pinball Arcade (from ps+) on my Vita?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • or will we get an update of where is Fatal Frame 2?

  • I’m just glad they listened to their fans and finally got us The Warriors. I’m sure they’ll release fatal frame II considering its on par or even better than the first game. It should be the director cut if they do. Next PS2 classic should either be Fatal Frame II: Directors Cut or Scarface: The World is Yours.

  • Crash PS1 support on Vita…That’s all I’m asking…Pleeease Sony

  • Also need Def Jam Fight for New York I think too.

  • Where’s velocity ultra and Hotline Miami?

  • Fatal Frame 2 was already released, and had to be pulled off due to many problems. Hopefully it will be fixed/patched soon.

  • Crash Series & Spyro working on my Vita? I think not. sighhh, Every week I just want to throw my vita out the window, I can’t play FFV, CB2, CTR hell none of the crash games and none of the spyro’s. That’s all I ask for -.-

As much as I’d love to see them on Vita, I’ve pretty much given up on ever seeing the North American region have these compatible, mainly because their current owner, Activision, has stopped caring about them. The only way I’ll get to see these gems on my Vita is through Remote Play, and that’s no fun.

  • @ChrisHighwind
If that was the case, it would have been the problem for EU users as well, but it wasn’t it was day 1 on PS1 support update for PS Vita.

  • Dragonslayer_023

Thought I heard somewhere that Velocity Ultra was coming in May. Maybe they were just talking about EU.

  • @17 Hotline Miami was never announced to be out next week and spring isn’t over yet either.

  • Love The Warriors!

  • in feb it was posted friend network was coming to ps vita this spring, here it is now may and theres only a month left before summer. when will it be released?

  • that’s for the vit…………..o wait, nothing for the vita….. whats a vita???

  • NauseousPenguin

I agree with 12, 15 & 19; will the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro PSOne titles ever become compatible with the Vita here in NA?

  • Just Fuse for me this week.

  • Im with everybody else , why isnt all the spyro and crash games STILL not compatible with the vita?

  • Beyondthegrave07

Last week, I saw someone ask for warriors, so I’m asking for Tomba 2. Make this happen sony! On a side note, I understand it’s hard to get classics on the PS Vita, but would you please just answer their questions! Or at least say something like “we haven’t given up on bringing Psone and PS2 classic support for vita.”

  • Dunce post in 5…4..3..2..1..

    I’ll save you the trouble:

“Man, this update is so weak, none of these games appeal to me, so this update sucks.”

I never got to play the Warriors game though, looking forward to that. I must have glossed it over when it came out on the PS2, then again, I was never this much into games back when I had my PS2.

  • Sony,

Capcom has informed me that you have already approved the code for Capcom Fighting Evolution. When is that being re-released?

  • One thing I would like seeing on The Drop is whatever is releasing have a small little detail blurb of how big the files are
It would really help some of us know how much to allocate or move/finish
I do get we get that info on Tuesday or just go look into the store after Grace Chen Time update, but it would be nice you let us know how big they are beforehand
The Last of Us and other DD titles could use the extra info a week or 2 before

  • absolutely nothing good this week. Just give us that awesome Witches and Knights sale Europe had weeks ago, that would make up for the boring fighting game plus members are getting and the lame sales the blogcast stated for tuesday.

  • Also, hope everyone else is enjoying the new season of Arrested Development today. Its great. :)

  • Still no Crash or Spyro on Vita, I see.

  • Damn I’m not even interested in BBCSE for vita on ps+ anymore, you guys need to really rethink your strategy. You guys are worrying more about ps3 then vita and it’s already established a great product with variety. When you guys should have been all over the vita especially since ps3 isn’t available on ps4 smh. Please fix Vita support and give it the stuff that should be on it/ or said to be on it. Crackle, Crunchyroll, Crash, Spyro, FFV, smh I can go on but you get it hopefully at sony. I’m a start spamming the update threads til I hear a valid answer for this. P.S the quality of R&CFFA on Vita was not worth the wait and matter a fact it’s almost unplayable cuz it hits like 5fps when fighting guys and ratchet games are known for great fps. But that’s insomniacs fault smh.

  • Rumored on twitter that this week also has An Other Ultimate Deal – i meant round 2 .

    Be Patient!

  • @Ryumoau thanks for reminding me, I’ve had a countdown running in my head for weeks and for some reason I totally forgot when I came home today.

  • where’s Deadly Premonition Director’s Cut DLC, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Armor DLC, Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor’s Edge DLC costume!!!!

  • More PS1 Classics for the Vita please. No imports if possible. Thank-you. Cheers.

  • @43 They never list everything in the teaser drop all the DLC will be listed on Tuesday when the store is updates.

  • this post gets 3 stars from me just for The Warriors Aloneee. other wise i would of clicked the Lowest box. cant waittt for tuesday to buy it. also why is FaTal Frame 2 stilllll not back ? i Also hope there is good discounts for the Regular PSN Games Section.

  • BirdyKilla420 they already put fatal frame 2 on the store but it was pulled due to issues in-game. also i must say you have similar taste as me. il luv to see scarface the world is yours and def jam fight for new york. make it happen sony we believe in you ahaa. F x-box one

  • Scarface is super sweet up until the point you own everything, you drive a boat and get shot at the whole time, and there’s nothing left to do, but the game lets you keep earning money. Def Jam: FFNY is all around good times with friends or without, it even had a nice create a character career mode. Must have imo. Along with The Warriors!

  • Guys, I hope ur saving something big on PSN for E3 and that’s why this is getting so crappy. Fuse looks cool; that’s about it. Also, I would really like it if I could play my Crash Bandicoot Ps One classic on my PS Vita. PLEASE SONY, MAKE IT WORK! Looking forward to E3 and the PlayStation 4. If it’s not too expensive, I’ll get one, guaranteed.

  • sony all i ask for is this on psn

    BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3
    Street Fighter X Tekken
    Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

and there all PS3 games on Disk i would love to see those on PSN to buy!!

i was quite shocked when i saw soul cailber 5 on there. a year and a couple months later.

please sony do this and my life will be perfect.
