The Drop: Week of March 25th 2013 New Releases

Indebted to the wrong people, and with his life on the line, hired gun Booker DeWitt has only one opportunity to wipe his slate clean. He must rescue Elizabeth, a mysterious girl imprisoned since childhood and locked up in the flying city of Columbia.

Forced to trust one another, Booker and Elizabeth form a powerful bond during their daring escape. Together, they learn to harness an expanding arsenal of weapons and abilities, as they fight on zeppelins in the clouds, along high-speed Sky-Lines, and down in the streets of Columbia, all while surviving the threats of the air-city and uncovering its dark secret. Bioshock Infinite comes to PS3 on Blu-ray and PSN on this week’s The Drop.

(Also on PSN) — Welcome to the city of Columbia. Floating amongst the clouds, cruising far above sea level, this is a place unlike any you’ve ever seen. Please enjoy your voyage…

The third game in the popular Bioshock series, BioShock Infinite breaks away from the underwater setting of the first two games to take players into a floating city held aloft by dirigibles. The game is set in 1912. You play as Booker DeWitt, a disgraced former private detective who’s picked up a new case. Your goal is to find Elizabeth, a young woman who’s gone missing and return her unharmed. The only problem is that she’s being kept on this flying city. Columbia was once a symbol of America’s success as a nation, floating around the world as a traveling World’s Fair, a marvel of human innovation. But strange things have happened since Columbia’s unveiling in 1900, and now the city has disappeared into the clouds. DeWitt knows how to find it, but over the years stories have been told about Columbia having unlawful heavy armament and deranged citizenry. Do not expect this to be a pleasure cruise.

nobunaga_iron_traingle_ps2boxart_160hNobunaga’s Ambition: Iron Triangle — Compelled by a nation ravaged by war, it was legendary samurai Nobunaga Oda’s ambition to silence the cries of war and usher in a new era of lasting peace for Japan. In Nobunaga’s Ambition: Iron Triangle, video gamers can step into the role of Feudal Japan’s most powerful warlords and turn this magnificent vision of unification into a reality.

In Iron Triangle, the acquisition of knowledge and a firm grasp of technology are even more crucial to establishing the groundwork for the future of the country. Players must embrace technology, govern wisely and shrewdly, and prepare a near-invincible military force for war on land and at sea. Only with the mastery of these three elements, the “Iron Triangle,” will the nation be united under one sword and will Nobunaga’s dream be realized.

  • TERRARIA on PS Vita Please! :) It would be awesome if PS3 and Vita version would have a cross save and cross play function too! :D My two PS3’s are busted right now, the PS3 Fat and Slim. Planning to buy the Super slim. I hope Terraria for Vita will come out sooner. Day one buy on the Vita :)

  • Wish Terreria was on VITA. Still, it is nice to see it come out finally for PS3.

  • are we ever going to get a soul sacrifice demo?

  • Terraria is a game I would buy on vita.

Still waiting on word for kingdom hearts birth by sleep and final fantasy crisis core to come to psn. How come two of the most popular psp titles aren’t on the store?

Can we get word on a demo date for soul sacrifice?

  • Glad to see Terraria, but sadly the only way I could possibly play time-intensive games is on the Vita, so I hope it would come to the Vita eventually.

  • I was going to get Tales Of Graces F, but I happened to find the HItman HD Trilogy at the store yesterday. First time I had seen it anywhere at all.

  • CRASH & SPYRO FOR VITA PLZ.

  • Bioshock Infinite GAME Of the Year!!!! Cant wait till Tuesday.

  • I dont know what the Plus freebie is this week, but I’m hoping for Okami HD. Come on guys, at least put it on sale. I bought it for PS2 and Wii, so id really like to pay no more than 10, but free would be great too. Also, I missed the sale on Dyad, played the demo after the sale was over and kicked myself for not getting that one.

  • @59:

Disgaea 3 on Vita will be the last free game of this month.

  • Will the DLC courses for WRC on the Vita be available at release or soon after?

  • @31
As with all Day 1 Digital releases, you can download the game on its launch day at 3:01am EST. At the latest it was 3:15am for me. Which is 12:01 PST, since the store is based on PST. I will be snagging Infinite then heading to bed while it downloads and is installed for me.

  • Still no A-Men for Vita?

  • @45
Diffrent LotR game. The one EU is getting is a RPG, we got a MOBA.

  • Can’t wait to pick up Bioshock Infinite and Tiger Woods 14 Masters Edition tomorrow night. It’s gonna be a long day waiting.

  • Tales of Graces F is amazing if you love rpg’s drop some cash on this one.

  • XCOM for Vita! Make it happen..

  • zZzZzZzZ [O/.O]

  • I want terraria for ps vita, i doesnt matter how much it costs, I want it on the go! please make it happen!

  • Terraria + Machinarium for me this time! =)
As many here say, I would like Terraria for the Ps Vita!!

  • @59

It’s funny how you should mention Okami HD being free. Thats going to be Free for EU Plus Members along with

    The Cave
Lord of the Rings: War from the North
    Zero Escape
    Thomas Was Alone

  • Terraria looks soooo cool it’s untrue. So wish it was coming to Vita too!

  • PS2 gets a section but nothing on Vita releases?

  • With the adorable (not to mention utterly sublime) point & click adventure, Machinarium releasing on the US store tomorrow, there’s still no word for us EU Vita owners! I’m a huge fan of uber talented indie outfit, Amanita Design, and I’m really hoping they’ll follow this up by bringing Botanicula to Vita too – but if anyone out there happens to know anything regarding Machinarium’s EU release, could you please add a comment?? Thanks guys!

  • @28 Are you kidding? EU plus have been getting amazing games for free, beyond what I would expect. I would consider that a good plus update, just not quite up to the level of what it’s been, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

  • What about the soul sacrifice demo? It’s been 3 months and still no information. I’d like to at least have it confirmed or denied. I’m starting to get worried that Soul Sacrifice downloadable content is going to be the same as the Dark Souls themes. That they will release content you have to pay for in the west but not free content. For example Dark Souls you can pay $3 for a decent theme that has no story significance in the US PlayStation store but if you have a Japanese account you can get one theme for each covenant for free. There’s already an announcement of 10 (free) new bosses and 1 (free) new level for the Japanese version. Are these going to be paid dlc in the US and Europe? Are we even going to get them? I’m not trying to be a jerk but I feel like I have to ask.

  • BIOSHOCK!!!!!! cant wait to get my premium edition tomorrow!!! SO pumped to take on Columbia and its twisted inhabitants!

  • @67

I second that! Id have absolutely no life if XCOM came to Vita! haha love to see that happen!

  • Now the wait for Terraria to come to PS+ for free begins..

  • i’ll be getting wrc and machinarium. i would like to see gta san andreas ps2 on vita, actually all ps2 classics on the vita would rock. plus i agree with #17 i also have premium avatars i would like to be able to use since my ps3 bit the dust a couple of months ago.

  • @8 If you order God of War Ascension online from Gamestop you’ll get the Saga for free.

  • and seriously, why does Europe consistently get better PS+ games than the US? its gets a bit ridiculous

  • would be glad for another surprise release like yesterweek’s totori plus

  • Where is the Ratchet for Vita???????

  • WOOT! Was about to get Terraria for PC, but now I’m definitely getting it on PSN! Why didn’t I know about this sooner^.^

  • Terraria and Machinarium!!!!!

  • Bioshock Infinite and Terraria for me

Hopefully there is a PS Plus 20% off discount for Terraria tomorrow.

  • The World Rally Championship (WRC) doesn’t get enough love in the USA. It’s an incredibly exciting motorsport that I wish had more exposure here.

  • NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY SOME PEOPLE DOWNLOAD AN EMULATOR FOR THEIR PC…. ITS THE ONLY WAY TO PLAY GAMES SUCH AS CAPCOM VS SNK, , MEGA MAN X4, 5, 6 OR RIVAL SCHOOLS.. FIRST U REMOVED THE EMOTION ENGINE OF PS3 FORCING US TO BUY THE PS2 IF WE WANTED TO PLAY PS2 GAMES… I CONSIDER THAT UNFORGIVABLE… AND NOW YOU JUST ADD.A WEIRD PS2 TO YOUR LIBRARY ON PSN? AT THIS RATE IT WILL BE IMPOSIBLE TO SEE HALF OF THE LIBRARY THAT THE PS2 HAVE…. YOU ARE NO MATCH FOR NINTENDO’S VIRTUAL CONSOLE GAMES…. IM SO DISSAPOINTED OF YOU SONY….

  • @89 Ever heard of a little thing called “licensing”?

  • Bioshock Infinite and Army of Two:Devils’s Cartel for me this week can’t wait ;)

  • I knw abt the licensing thing but my question is… why removing the emotion engine of ps3 then?

  • Isn’t A-Men for Vita?

@17: Implying that we already own the games we want put on PSN for digital consumption.

Shoo. Don’t want to rebuy something? Don’t. Magic~

  • for those who asking… yes you do get bioshock 1 as part of the digital purchase… infact if you preordered it it will be made available for download immediatly

  • Uhh. Is it just me, or did Rey not mention Terraria? Wikipedia says it comes out tomorrow, but…. Did the blog entry get updated?

  • hey if I get bioshock infinite retail I get the original. does that work if I get it digitally??

  • I’d listen to the people who say ” bring terraria on vita””doesn’t matter how much it costs” thats a sign saying. lets do it! please.

  • Nobunaga’s!!! Yes!!!,
Please can you consider Samurai Warriors 2 and Samurai Warriors 2 Extreme Legends too???
I can’t wait to play it again!!!
    Thanks Sony

  • Is it me, or the post was edited. I got the mail saying Terraria was going to be on the Drop this week, but when I came here there’s no mention of Terraria at all anymore.

I have a bad feeling about this. Hopefully it’s nothing.

  • Yeah, I don’t see Terraria either…what the hell!!!!! @#$@! I have it on pc but I’d rather play it on my ps3 on my 50″ and a controller. (would be heaven on a vita).

Will be getting Bioshock tommorow, and hopefully Terraria, but I have a bad feeling about that as its nowhere in the blog at all.. (yet people here say its there?)
