It’s that time of the year again! Today, we have the pleasure of announcing this year’s lineup of great titles for the third annual PSN Gamers’ Choice Awards. As we have in previous years, we’re opening up the polls and hoping that you’ll make your voice heard to determine the best downloadable PSN titles. We’ll again have three nominees across 10 categories that will feature the top-rated and most popular games of 2012.
Starting later today through February 25th, you can visit PlayStation Store or the Sony Entertainment Network Online Store to cast your vote in any of the categories by downloading a free XMB theme. Remember, your votes will determine who wins in every category – not to mention that winning titles will then go on sale for a limited time.
Once you’ve cast your vote, check back here next Tuesday to see which titles came out on top. Starting later that day when the PS Store updates, the winning game in each category will be discounted in the PS Store for one week, with an even deeper discount for PlayStation Plus members.

@GStylez1980 exactly, I don’t know how people seem to already have forgotten that the PS Blog had an actual Best of 2012 Awards a few months ago. What’s a shame though is that even if they did put up a “better selection of games” in these lists, people would be so ready to accuse the PS Blog staff of fixing the results if their games didn’t win (just like last time).

This is good and bad. Most people will vote on the games they want for the discount because they already own the games that should win, I know that’s what I did during last years awards.
The concept behind these awards always struck me as strange: Are we supposed to vote for our favorite games (i.e., ones we already have and played)? or Do we vote for the ones we haven’t played but wish to see discounted?
I always do the latter. A game that I already have winning does nothing for me.

I couldn’t help but notice “Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 (PS3/PS Vita)”… Ummm … I LOVE playing Magic but… I don’t remember seeing a Vita release?! I wouldv’e picked that up IMMEDIATELY! Am I missing something? I don’t see it available on PSN store for Vita. Did we get a slip of something coming?

I’ll vote for Journey but I almost don’t want to vote for it after Thatgamecompany was complaining in an interview that it although it was profitable, it didn’t make enough money for their liking despite being the fastest selling PSN game and all the awards.

The best way for them to do this would be to have all of the nominees on sale. That way people can vote for what they think should win without the biased incentive of getting the winner on sale.

IMO lol It maybe it should be changed to.. “Vote for the game you most want!”, or “What”s the favorite game you don’t own yet?”.
I’m waiting for BL2 to go GOTY so maybe 12 to 18months time, but if this was to be on sale next week, I’m sure I would grab it.

That list explains why the Vita is failing. If 2 mediocre download titles make the Best game category, you know there isn’t much software for it.

So…horrible selection. Ac3 will win again, why i dont understand. Journey will clean house. And i’ll be left wondering who chooses these things. There were a few other games that could have gone in the hat for best ps3 full game. The rest i dont dabble to much in, but…at least a COD game isnt in the list. Hope all stars wins because i have not bought that yet, a good sale could change my mind though….maybe. would love to trade in my ac3, i didnt enjoy it at all. Alas…its digital.
Excited for tomorrow. Not this “awards” though. Kinda disappointed with it. Oh well. Life goes on.
Also, got on here because AGAIN the psn store isnt updated. At 10 till 7pm. 7PM.7 o’clock in the evening..in what way can you really consider that a Tuesday update? I hate how inconsistent and LATE the update is every Tuesday.
It is not hard. You know when Tuesday comes, every week. Its the same. Every week. Same time. Right after Monday, every week. And sony can NEVER get their people to get the job done in any type of good time. It is the one thing that bothers me about sony. Lack of urgency/time management. Get it together sony.
Im sure i’ll be here again next tuesday, ranting about the same lack of an update until after im in bed. (I work a very early 1st shift, like 4am early)
