PlayStation Plus Update: Return To Rapture Free in BioShock 2

It may be gift-giving season, but PlayStation Plus delivers gaming gifts all year round, and this week is no exception. While many of you might still be getting acquainted with the PS Vita Plus games, PS3 gamers can welcome BioShock 2 into their Instant Game Collection. Download it for free if you’re a Plus member when the PlayStation Store updates on Tuesday.

@249 I have both BioShock 1 & 2 on disc, just don’t own Batman AA or AC. But I had beaten all 4 games.

I am pretty sure those copies that include Catwoman are only the GOTY copies, which is the one EU is not getting. I have to read the description though to make sure, but I am pretty sure I am right.

Harely Quinn was part of GOTY and is available separately. EU didn’t get Batman AC GOTY till months after US did.

I remember when people complained that US got GOTY before EU, yet we’re complaining that Eu gets Batman AC for Plus and US doesn’t.

I know she was part of the GOTY and I know EU got it on September…..Lol. All I am saying is that I confused the Catwoman and Harley Quinn DLC. That’s all.

I am very disappointed to see Bioshock 2 added to the IGC I already have the game on disc and really don’t have any more use for it since now newer better games are available to play. It feels like I have been burned for 2 months now with getting only 1 game per month due to the fact that some of these games being offered I already have.

I am really regretting now purchasing another 2 years of plus. And most likely next week will not make up for this week or the last 2 months of offerings.

Ok Morgan, I’m starting to understand how negativity is so unavoidable on these posts. I agree that Arkham City is better but I am a big fan of Bioshock 2. I just don’t understand how people can call it crap. Although most of those people don’t read into it enough to know that this is a weekly post and EU is monthly.
On a side note it is killing me seeing the liberation vita bundle under my tree that I have to wait for knowing all of the games I will instantly haven for it. Either way plus is definitely a really good deal. I hope we get another vita game soon.

  Whether someone likes a game or not is always a subjective thing. And whether someone has already played a game that was added to Plus is always going to differ from person to person. We’re continuing to look at how we can add more utility to Plus in case a free game update doesn’t resonate with someone. But this is a ways off. Bottomline; we will always be making improvements to Plus and it will only get better; but in the meantime, everyone’s feedback can help shape the future of Plus, so thanks to everyone for always making their voice heard here

@248 I am not saying Borderlands is an inferior game or for that reason I am not saying Bioshock 2 is also an inferior game. But at this juncture of time Bioshock 2 is inferior when compared to Arkham City cuz u can get Bioshock 2 for 9 bucks compared to Arkham City which is 29.99 bucks. I wouldn’t be complaining if xbox is arkham city for their subscribers when plus is giving bioshock 2 (xbox doesnt hv a instant game collection and free online thats why I like Playstation).

I am just complaining because even within playtation plus why EU is getting better deal than us. Its been not just this month it happened last month and month before and from july. Have a look at post 152. Being happy with what we get is different but I want the best deal, Even you can play games with PSP then why you want to buy PS Vita? because Vita is new. Likewise Bioshock 2 is a good game no doubt but Arkham City is new. Tell me something if you are asked to choose between PSP and PS Vita if both are of same price which one will you choose?

Not a bad update, but this week doesn’t have anything compelling for me. Would be great if we could get some discounts on DLC for games that have been in the IGC or if we got some Plus discounts on some more PS Vita titles.

so we get bioshock 2 without the dlc but EU gets batman and vanquish also on top of that they get the 12 day xmas deal which the 1st one was 33 percent off a 3 month plus but we get this? smh def not returning until we get some respect

@272 The multiplayer is a bit challenging since you have weapons and plasmids to deal with. There is a free MP dlc available. I have the game disc nearby.

@262, As far as why different regions getting different content, I’m sure there is a legitimate reason why that is happening. An example is licenses. Sometimes companies have agreements in place which specify what a publisher can do with a certain license to a game in certain countries. Like, say Ubisoft; They allow companies like Sony to give out (just making this up) Assasins Creed 2 for free in Europe, but not in the US. Sony CANNOT do anything about that, its out of their control. They can only offer what the developer says is ok to offer.

This is just ONE of many types of example going on in the background that we aren’t able to see and to continue to demand “better games” when we have no idea which games can/can’t be allowed to be “given away” is a bi dumb. Its like arguing over stuff that is literally out of anyone’s control, so why bother? I’m sure if they could, they would let us have the best games that they could get away with, but as I said, its dumb to try and say that they are somehow shafting us without fully knowing the details they know.

While that may be true, we have never received more than 1 retail game in a single month while EU receives 2 every single month. All we have to look forward to for the rest of December is 3 crappy PSN games that are probably like 4 years old and have been discounted numerous times.

I would like to know how do you give out a game on discount for playstation plus ( Borderlands , Payday The Hiest ) , then you turn around and give the same game out for free down the road , not cool . I have been a subscriber for as long as it has been out , but I think I am about to drop this next month , especially when I see what EU is getting , compared to what we are getting , WEAK !

@Morgan – I strongly suggest you put “WEEKLY UPDATE” in the title going forward, but I got your back and appreciate everything that SCEA is trying to accomplish. Unfortunately a lot of these individuals don’t understand how things work in the corporate world, especially from region to region.

I sincerely hope that the majority of posters who are griping about the PS+ post today are not adults. The PS+ community needs to stop acting so malcontent, it really is appalling. It was made very clear that updates for PS+ would be switching to a weekly update format, as a matter of fact, we the community through a PS+ poll decided that we wanted the updates weekly instead of monthly. I swear there is no pleasing some of you. Japan and Hong Kong are in a much more unfavorable position and they don’t grouse like this. Also, there was a point where the NA region was getting much better games than the EU region, so please give SCEA a little breathing room.

For those complaining about there being no PS Vita game(s) in this update, as mentioned by others you just got 6 free top tier games 2 weeks ago, you can’t expect Sony to cycle a new PS Vita (non PSP, PS1) game every week, there would be no games to offer in a short period of time if that were to happen. I would be more than gratified if they were able to cycle in 1 Vita platform specific game each month and a mix of 3 others (PSP, PS1, PSM). If you have such piety for SCEE then get an EU PS+ membership.

well now……here we go again morgan…..EU gets by far quality updates than here in the NA……dont care that their updates are posted monthly… Here n the states we (america) spend billions n games yearly and im sure we buy the most games out of ANY COUNTRY. not bieng hateful but im sure that is the truth…Givn us a game from how many years ago….. dont get me wrong it is a AWESOME game…but now you see it in bargin bins for 9.98. It really is an embarrassment the way so many people are acting on here, there is huge entitlement mentality going on here, it would not surprise me in the least if these people being so crass were younger than 15.

I feel bad for Morgan and the rest of the team to have to put up with childish threats and wants.

No matter what happens, there are always posters that will find something to be discontent with, week after week. With the way people comment on here, I would not be surprised if they stopped replying at all, I mean I wouldn’t blame them with so many disrespectful and ignorant comments on here.
