Team up with up to three other players for four-player online goodness or go old-school with two-player split-screen couch sharing mayhem as you spend hours leveling up your character and equipping them with one of the millions of badass weapons.

On PSN this week. Tag, grind, and trick to the beat in SEGA’s hit game Jet Set Radio! Fight for control of Tokyo, mark your turf with graffiti, tag walls, billboards, and even rival gang members. Also on PSN as a full digital download, visit the modern day reinvention of one of the most critically acclaimed arcade franchises of all-time, SSX allows players to experience the franchise’s signature fun and adrenaline-packed gameplay across iconic mountain ranges all over the world. Enjoy this week’s The Drop.

PlayStation 3

Borderlands 2 (Also on PSN) — Borderlands 2 is the epic sequel to the ultimate four-player role-playing shooter loot fest. Combining invention and evolution, Borderlands 2 features all-new characters, mixed online/split-screen co-op, skills, environments, enemies, weapons and equipment, which come together in an ambitiously crafted story. Players will reveal secrets, and escalate mysteries of the Borderlands universe as they adventure across the unexplored new areas of Pandora.

PlayStation Network

Jet Set Radio — The government is attempting to silence the kids of Tokyo, but with their Overdrive Magnetic-Motor Skating Shoes, the cops will have to catch ’em first. The Jet Set Radio program keeps the kids unified and inspired to fight for their rights of expression, which includes graffiti art. Grab your spray cans and design your own piece on one of the immense walls in the 3D, interactive city.

You might be forced to protect your territory from adversaries that want to take over your neighborhood. Join up with like-minded hip individuals that will help you keep your area the way you want it. The cops will be after you too, so you’ll have to be quick. The 10 cartoon-style characters are pumped up with polygons so they come alive in 3D. Uniqueness is key to these kids and each character stands apart with exclusive abilities and style. They like to show off too, and with 18 missions, there’s plenty of time to impress. It’s fast, it’s fun, and it’s definitely funky.

SSX — Redefining the franchise, SSX pits riders against both mountain and man. Players explore the story of a team who seek to be the first to descend the faces of the most treacherous mountain ranges on the planet. The team travels the world to face the worst that Mother Nature can throw at them.

From the peaks of the Himalayas, where the air is so thin that riders have to descend through the death zone at breakneck speeds to keep from blacking out, to the solid ice ranges of Antarctica, where a sunlit line is the only survival option when temperatures drop 50 degrees centigrade in the shade. And the mountain isn’t the only danger players will face. In SSX the first goal is to survive. The second, in true SSX fashion, is to look good doing it.

F1 2012 (Also on Blu-ray) — F1 2012 is the next installment in the popular F1 racing series. The game features all new modes of play, including the Young Driver Test mode, a feature inspired by the sport’s real-life testing programme for up and coming talent.

Zuma’s Revenge — Enter an all-new world of Zuma where evil tiki bosses rule the land! Conquer over 60 ribbeting levels by firing stone spheres to make matches and destroy the deadly stream of balls, then take on six tiki boss battles and guide your agile amphibian to victory. The sequel to Zuma features all the fun of the original hit game, plus new power-ups, new agilities, high-definition graphics, and four game modes for hundreds of hours of fun.

PlayStation 2 Classic

Harvest Moon It’s A Wonderful Life: Special Edition — The second PlayStation 2 entry in the Harvest Moon series builds upon the similarly-named GameCube title, Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. A few big changes mark the jump from GameCube to PS2 — in this version, you may have either a boy or a girl once you’ve been married, and there are now four wives to woo with the addition of the lovely Lumina, and continued building of your farm is allowed once you’ve completed the story campaign.

River King — Players cast a line and try to hook the big one, in this socially oriented fishing RPG from Natsume. Taking the role of one of four family members, players seek angler immortality by catching the legendary and elusive big fish known as “the River King.” Of course, there’s also much to do between trips to the waterside, such as collecting rare items, trading for better equipment at shops, and making new friends.

[Editor’s Note: The following dates are subject to change. Game details are gathered from Press Releases from their individual publishers and/or ESRB rating descriptions.]

  • no news for handhelds?, glad im still rockin my PSP. makes me wonder if sony doesnt care about the vita anymore.

  • I downloaded 4.25 wednesday and worked fine until I turned if off and tryed playing Friday. So from Friday to right know it says sony enterainment network has timed out. I can get on netflix but cant play games online or go to the online store. I tried everything I can think off. Sony didnt help at all when I called. Hopefully I can get it fixed by tomorrow before I get Borderlands 2.

  • If anyone wants to play Borderlands 2 my PSN is stakin. Send me a message

  • psn + member get any off Borderlands 2

  • @106 i highly doubt it. We aren’t even getting the preorder content, despite Europe getting it. :/

This is a weak drop, aside from borderlands. I’m looking forward to next week though, since the Dynasty Warriors One Piece game is supposed to come out. It better be $30 though.

  • So when the Crash 1-3 and Spyro 1-3 coming to VITA? :(

  • Who decides which PS2 “classics” get selected because some of these games I don’t recall being classics !

  • I like how the person earlier complained about Borderlands for free being a marketing ploy and then complained about Europe getting Darksiders for free right before D2 came out.

So what are the reasons for everyone ordering the digital version of this game on day 1? Same price as the store, plus you can always sell that back if you get bored with it. Is it just ease of getting it / lack of reliable transportation? Is there a perk I’m not aware of that is gained by ordering it that way? Just curios.

  • Sweet, SSX…the load times on that are pretty bad, hard drive should help.

  • Europe has had a pre-order for AC 3 Gold Edition for awhile now. Any chance NA will also be getting AC 3 with the same bonuses and a direct download on our store as well?

  • Borderlands 2!!

  • @35 No, because people will demand a free copy for buying the PS3 version and they will make no money that way. It’s not worth it for them.

  • @ lightening- fairy … shut the hell up ! if you have the game on disc then why the hell would you want it on download ? your just a moron ! do us all a favor and get a 360 ! i bet sony will pay for it just to shut you up ! i have 2 dollars to go towards your new 360 ! only you have to sign a contact saying you will never log back into ps blog

  • and i talked to nascar they think your a moron to ! and they don’t want you as a fan ! they don’t like panty wearing fairy’s ! lol !

  • lol ! boy i’ll kick your as !

  • you make me laugh !!

  • r we finished ?

  • A condensed and rough translation of lightning troll’s ranting on here or at least what it sound likes to me

WAAAAHHH!!! WAAAAHHH!!! WAAAAHHH!!! Wheres my NASCAR 2011 demo? A game thats a year old and no cares about

WAAAAHHH!!! WAAAAHHH!!! WAAAAHHH!!! A sport where cars go around in circles for 500 laps is the number one sport. Why doesnt Sony realize that?

I paid for NASCAR 2011 twice like an idiot and it’s Sony’s fault because they didn’t make it digital.

WAAAAHHH!!! WAAAAHHH!!! WAAAAHHH!!! The world is supposed to revolve around me but I’m not getting what I want. Screw you guys at Sony.

I think I left out a line or two but I think I got most of what he was saying.

  • he wants to come and kick my as! lol !

  • lightening – fairy 360 fund-raising ! 2 dollars to get rid of him !

  • Super psyched for RE6 demo because the Dogma demo only lasted so long before i wanted more.
@23 I agree, that game was awesome and I want it on PSN (either that or carbon)

  • your a typical bully !! someone stands up to you and you run like the coward that you are ! LOL ! COWARD !

  • from now on treat people with some respect and you will get it back ! don’t be a punk ! this is a place to have fun !it’s people like you that messes it up for every one else ! you should have learned this in kindergarten !

  • Another week and nothing for the Vita. Good way to show your supporters love. Come on Sony prove to us that you care that we bought your portable by bringing us content like new games and apps. I bought a 3ds because i’ve played everything for the Vita and have nothing to look forward to till Ragnorok Odyssey. If you want the Vita to succeed you need to put in the effort and not lave us hanging.

  • I got a 50 $ card for borderlands 2 ! cant wait till tomorrow, and please sony make it 50 $ or less since i dont want to get another card !

  • Borderlands 2, and RE 6 demo. Yay!
    *does a happy dance* =^_^=

  • I’m still waiting for you to announce LBP Vita will be up on PSN Tuesday. Will you announce it already? You know you can’t get away with this nonsense of letting stores sell it now while you make digital customers wait another week.

  • fifa 13 pre-order? said that as of September 18 could book, will leave tomorrow for pre-order FIFA 13 right?

  • just wanted to confirm too you guys that i downloaded 4.25 with no problems.i just checked and i can play online multiplayer and also just bought tiger woods golf 13 so the store is fine for me too.

  • hay aka slick _ thong. .. how r you boing ?for you that don’t know whom i talking about it’s lightening _ fairy ! the nascar queen ! LOL

  • @Lightnig-fear
I dont hate you because you complain to Sony…

  • lol ! if nascar is a man’s sport then why the hell are you watching it ? you should be watching ballroom dancing !

  • they should rename this thread to the following:

  • lmao ! he has sent me about 10 messages ! he’s mad as hell right now !!LOL !

  • “who asked you kids to reply to my constrictive criticism to the blog team huh?”
I think you made a couple of errors. Your criticism is not constructive in any way. But I think you probably figured that out by now. And more than half of your criticism is not towards the blog team. Most of it is against our little “ban” of “kids”. Or against football itself. I also dont think that nascar is nearly as popular as football. I mean how many kids dream of being in the NFL. Many. How many kids dream of being Nascar drivers. About 42(and a half)

  • he already ready has nascar on disc ! why does he need it in download ?

  • Another fantastic Vita week… Oh wait!

  • he thinks jeff gorden is cute !!

  • he thinks jeff gorden is cute

  • well no more messages from lightening _ fairy ! his mother must have sent him to bed ! intill the next drop ! lol ! more about nascar !

  • We seriously need the ps1 spider man games on the psn stat

  • I dont even know why you call nascar a sport. There is zero athleticism involved.
Im sure your pit crew slaps each others butts when the cameras arent looking.
I personally haven’t ever seen anyone on sundays slap each others butt.
The only reason you would know about something like that is because you looked it up on Google images.

  • Hey @dlhdav7, he should be the fruity-fairy instead of lighting-fairy.

  • Footist: racism against football; see LIGHTNING-FEAR

  • I’m sure this has been asked many times before, but is there not a way PSN members can simply vote for which PS1 / PS2 games they would like to have re-released on PSN?

This could take the form a constant running poll / chart displayed down the side of the website where users could search and vote for a game..

I can think of several games I would love to see, and I’m sure there are many others who feel the same, but if there was a definitive chart, then atleast PSN could see what what the fans actually want to see brought back.

Oh and by the way, my votes go to GTA San Andreas, Outrun SP 2006 and Katamari Damacy, Die Hard Trilogy, but there are many others I’d love to see.

Kudos for bringing Jet Set Radio back tho..

  • Oh god yes we need some type of voting system

  • I vote for a voting system! haha

  • Theses arguments are kinda.. useless and pointless.

If you don’t like how Sony treats you (or their customers), act constructively and proactively.
Heck, if you want them to notice a little more, Stop buying Sony products, make a backup of your disc**, REALLY stick it to the man!

    (**technically illegal. don’t do it.)

If you REALLY want Sony to notice, gather more people who agree. start a boycott of some sort. If Sony starts to lose money, then they’ll probably take more notice. Money Talks these days.

But really? Throwing a few insults and name calling is unprofessional, and won’t be noticed.
(it like running out with guns a blazing on a battle field alone. you’ll be the first dead, and probably nobody would care)

  • As for insulting other peoples passions and Dreams, I’ll also personally object to that. Everyone has their own dreams, and it is their right to pursue it. If you like something, Advocate for it. But DON’T hate something just because you don’t like it. Another person’s Dream or interest may not appeal to you, But it takes lots of guts and years of devotion to achieve.

Football player, Nascar drivers, teachers, doctors, game programmers (that’s me!), etc are all things that require a lot of devotion and effort. As a game programmer, I don’t know all the aspects that go into NASCAR or football, but I sure do know what goes into a video game. I don’t have enough knowledge to truly (and constructively) Criticize other activities besides my own.

criticizing (though insults and name calling) other peoples passions is like call a book stupid, before you even read a page of it!

[for example: I read Twilight……. Boy was it awful. But there are still people who like that book, and I don’t hate them just for liking it.]

sorry for the TL:DR post but,
All I’m asking is for you guys to be… a little more constructive~
