Guten Tag from Cologne, Germany! The doors to gamescom 2012, the world’s largest gaming event, officially open tomorrow, but the news and announcements start today. PlayStation’s gamescom press conference should certainly be of interest to gamers in North America, and fortunately the timing of the evening event means that you can watch it as it happens. We’re streaming it live right here, beginning at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific.
A note while you’re watching today: much like E3 is targeted to the US audience and Tokyo Game Show is targeted at Japan, the gamescom press conference is primarily aimed at European gamers, so please keep that in mind as you watch. Not everything mentioned or shown today will necessarily apply to those of us in North America. We’ll post on all appropriate things for the North American market, however, just as we always do.

Can someone confirm if he said “all” Ps1 classics on the 28th? I and others thought we heard that, but we’re not sure and Joystiq keeps reporting it’s a gradual rollout(but only using themselves as a source).

Sony is killing it! VITA has been represented very well! But hasn’t Sony learned from E3, Wonderbook isn’t a focal point, you don’t need another 20 minute segment!
So no gameplay for black ops declassified -_- or any mention of zombie mode, and it’s coming out in a few months :/… How will this sell vitas? I can see little big planet, ragnarok, ratchet and clank, playstation allstars, and killzone selling… But not blacks ops with so lil info
I agree with chris_tane! This conference is a train wreck of children’s titles and handheld. Also, everyone has played RDR!? Infamous 2 and LBP2 was nice, but the Plus announcement from E3 is already loosing steam. The only thing Wonderbook is good for is getting me to sleep.

Sony really needs to learn how to manage their time in these conferences. Focus more time on exclusives not 3rd party sports games and god damn Wonderbook. No wonder the company is failing.
Please tell me we’re getting RDR in US as well.

i hope red dead redemption is for us as well…. but i guess well have to wait till ghe day before the store updates to know cuz thats the us strategy now lol keeping us guessing and in the dark

Didn’t look any more like a children’s game than LBP. Very creative, reminded me of Tim Burton. I’ll be picking it up

Until Dawn looks promising. The Last Of Us looks just as good as it did before. Nothing else of interest for me though. Almost an hour wasted with Vita, Plus and , even worse, that ridiculous Wonderbook. Meh.

for Cross Buy would it be possible to get the retail version of the Vita game? like buy the PS3 or Vita version @ the store & get the other retail version for free?
