  • Sweet update.

But hey Morgan, Any update on GTA III???

    Thanks.

  • Just Cause 2 and Laura Croft The Guardian Of Light seems to be expiring soon.

  • I hate to ask this cause I prefer ps3 but does anyone know if you can buy Nascar 2011 on Xbox live? I’m about to buy a dang 360 even though I don’t want to so I can play nascar 2011 DIGITAL cause I’m sick and tired of waiting for the ps blog slow poke people to get that game on psn store.

    • I don’t believe you can (someone correct me if I’m wrong). I don’t have an answer for you re: NASCAR 2011, but I can try looking into it. Can’t promise that anything will change though.

  • where did all the playstation plus discounts go . before there was so many i didn’t know what to buy , now there is nothing , only one or 2 games on sale everyweek now ?

  • I deserve a $ 50 psn code Morgan. I don’t need a gold medal lol.

  • @2 I would assume the dlc is compatible since buying the Vita version of SFxT comes with the 12 new char dlc and it will be compatible with the ps3 version. Though I havent heard anything about the dlc bought on the console version being compatible with the Vita version I would hope it is if I ever get both.

  • I noticed they mentioned choplifter hd and sideways NY being taken out this week…

which means any of us expecting the other two games to be deus ex, darksiders, motorstorm or dead space 2 (or any full retail game) might as well forget it.. I doubt theyd replace 15 dollar psn games with something of that quality…

Ill care when I see them announce infamous 2, R&C LBP2, just cause 2 etc etc getting rotated out..

kinda funny how I bet theyre making us wait an extra week for games that wont be worth the wait… they should haves TWD for next week instead at least those are halfway worth it… guess Sony never heard of save the Best for Last. So remember when the games are crap next week.. I called it here first.

  • Sound shapes looks great!

Morgan or Grace or anyone else on the PSN team? When will the PS VITA app “Wake up Club” come out? I have been waiting for a while to be able to use my Vita as my alarm clock.

I see its out overseas already in the foreign PSN Stores for download.

Also what about Treasure Park too?

Thanks for any information on “Wake up club” and “Treasure Park” you might be able to share.

    • Don’t have any info to share on anything like this, but if and when we do, the Blog will be the first place to break the news. Sorry I can’t be of more help!

  • What about Jet Set Radio?

  • To all PS+ Members: I’m curious–what % discount do you need to see before you would buy a game that you would otherwise pass on? For me, 20% is not enough but 50% would get me thinking.

What do you guys think? Morgan, any chance on getting bigger discounts? I’ll be you would see more sales! =)

    • yeah i think that’s really valid feedback and it’s something I’ve reported up the chain to review further. There are many factors to consider, but we want o really give Plus members the best deals around, so it’s definitely worth exploring

  • As another poster has said earlier I thought there would be more retal ps3 games . The EU has gotten more quality retail games and that is what i was expecting when i signed up for playstation plus, even though I do like psn games Id rather have more of what the EU is getting.

If there are not more retail titles coming to the NA playstation plus then I probably wont subscribe again . Just giving my feedback

  • That darksiders season pass looks like a disaster, I don’t think I get it you pay 20 dollars if you download it the right way and then you get discounts on Dlc does it give you anything else?

  • when will playstation get new baseball avatars i want to buy the blue jays new logo avatar

  • Nice upate for psn+ :No, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, no Dead Space 2,no Darksiders, no motorstorm apocalpyse, no new themes.

No sale for bf3, no vita game, no ps1 game, and finally NO GTA 4 GAME.

MY PSN+ just expire and I will keep my 50$ and will not renew this mediocre service. Since June with the big announcement 12 free game, the last month what we receive are not so great and none of them was retail game.

  • Also just release a cloud storage by itself membership that is cheaper than plus. I don’t wany plus no more on my MAIN psn account after it expires in 2 months. I need the cloud storage for my forced LOCKED SAVE DATA TO THE PS3 crap. If it weren’t for dumb developers being LAZY and not just locking save data to ps3’s and just locking the save data to the psn account like burnout paradise does and I can still back up that save data to my flash drive as long as I only use that save data on the account it was saved from then I wouldn’t need plus for cloud storage. We should all get cloud storage as a standard anyways and not have to pay for it since developers are screwing us with this locked save data crap that is a pain. Apple gives its users on ipods and such 5 gigs of cloud storage FREE so why are we having to pay a membership for it huh?

  • great update but… im starting to think the ps1 update for vitas never coming, ive been waiting for A lonnnggggg time. please sony update us on this kind of thing. can u please tell me when its coming out, if no can u tell me when u plan on announceing the date for it. thank you.

  • @61 50% same, 20% is not enough. Steam does it why not psn ?

  • I’m pretty upset that EU receive Motorstorm, Oddworld, and now Dead Space 2…. and we haven’t. Common guys? Either or… Vita still need more content. Something to spice things up besides one game….

  • Oh and can your company be nice enough to inform me that if I buy BF2 TODAY for 20 bucks you aren’t going to put it on sale next week or a month down the road for us plus members ( on my main account not this one) anyways, should I be worried it will be given for free soon or half off on a plus sale and will be pissed if I buy it today? You nice enough to let me know this MORGAN?

  • and what happen to gta3, this blog needs to update us on this kind of thing!

  • Sorry but to all you “early adopters” should know you are getting ripped off on day one. It’s not like anyone releases “full games” anymore. So when a game says $20 think of it as a $20 minimum to play the base game, and there will be more money spent later. Unless you just wait for like a GOTY or Complete or Ultimate edition of the game. Then you wont feel so ripped off. The key word is WAIT, you know . . .patience.

  • sorry but also i bought the digtal copy of metal gear solid portable ops, and i still cant play that on the vita, please tell me when thats coming ive been waiting for a long time for that to!

  • “Walking Dead Episodes 1 and 2 replaced 1 game. We’ll have 2 more additions to Plus next week.”

Let me guess… Walking Dead Episodes 3 and 4? lol

  • by the way Morgan, according to one of your replies you pointed out that the free games next week will be PSN games (i.e not digital versions of retail releases like darksiders, motorstorm etc etc).. if you know that much then you most likely also know what games they are… I say save us the anticipating disappointment and tell us what they are now.. I mean GOOD things are supposed to com to those who wait and PS+ has already gotten 95% of the GOOD PSN titles during its 2+ year of existence.

Save the suspense and mystery for the Free game announcements that are gonna make our jaws drop (kinda like how that whole 12 free games announcements for ps+ at E3 that made everyone’s jaws drop and probably increased PS+ subscriptions by 50% only for those people to be disappointed with each following month and most likely wont renew their subs next year if things keep going the way they have… or at least switch that sub to an EU PSN account which is getting the MUCH sweeter deal).

Though Ill congratulate you on the PS+ discounts so far, the games that have been being chosen for discounts has been spot on

    • 95% of the good PSN titles in Plus so far? that’s a bit of a reach!

tune in Monday when we announce the next Plus update.

  • Boston Celtics avatar!

  • Thanks Morgan for the reply on “Wake up Club” and “Treasure Park”. I will just be patient to hear from the Blog when anymore news comes.

  • Not at all trying to complain, but I want to voice that I’m also bummed out about EU’s PLUS offerings versus ours. I was really looking forward to Deus Ex. The other games I’d be interested in (Darksiders, DS2) I already have but would love to have a digital copy so I can store the discs.

That said, Europe usually gets screwed when it comes to video games in general, so good on ’em for making Americans jealous for once. :)

    • That seems to be a recurring theme in the comments this week! Thanks for the feedback, we’ll let our teams know that people are feeling this way.

  • Wow another early update nice. Still nothing interesting here, so when is GTA 3 going to be out for GTA fans?

  • Oh man this is great. Have been waiting for sound shapes since february when i got my vita. Downloading right now. And that Papo & Yo is preordered. Great update guys keep em coming

  • But since I get ignored about a answer on NASCAR 2011 THE GAME being on the EUROPE STORE and not here then let me know how to contact the developer and I’ll do your job for you.

  • Any chance of getting a demo for Malicious?

  • Please update the Vita store next time for Vita pre-orders. I would have pre-ordered Sound Shapes if it was on the Vita store. Thanks

  • Cool, early update :) ! Can I make a suggestion? I think you should also add what PSP games are newly available for the Vita on the PS Store. I noticed that GTA: Chinatown Wars and Atlas’ recent RPG Gugnir! are both available now. If someone doesn’t see something new in a weekly update they want, they probably won’t visit the store and may not be aware that something they’ve been waiting on for Vita is now available.

  • Just curious, is there any chance the PSP versions of Final Fantasy I & II will ever come out on PSN? I don’t know why North America’s PSN doesn’t have them, but they’re up on the Japanese and European PSNs.

    Thanks!

  • Morgan I konw it’s not up to you but man, SCEA Playstation Plus offerings are very disapointing.

  • wow what a sad week, only two ps+ items for the month ,a bad sale week, and no good dlc , oh well once again no reason to spend my store money

  • @60 to answer your question.. If I WANT a game Im getting it discount or not. So the percentage of the discount is of no concern to me.. im just happy to get it a few dollars cheaper than I originally planned to pay. That being said If I wasnt interested in a game to begin with, even a 50% discount is gonna suddenly make it interesting to me.

Speaking for discount Morgan since PS+ has been doing a wonderful job with its discount selection. Id love to pay a few bucks less for tony Hawks Pro Skater HD (especially since xbox had it for 2 months by the time we get it), Dark Souls DLC, Shadow of a Soul 1, Double Dragon Neon and possibly they newly announced Scourge game. See if you can make it happen Morgan.

  • @JamesBlonde777 Hmmm, hard to say since it can all depend upon what mood I’m in that day. I think 40-50% is probably a good rough number. There’s some games I wouldn’t even try for free though.

  • Hi Morgan! I have a question if I buy sound shapes on my vita right now and then buy papo & yo on my ps3 would I get the $3 back as part othe the play promotion?

    • yep. soundshapes on vita counts towards the promotion. we’ll be sending the money back via XMB message on your PS3 around August 7th.

  • So, not only is this technically not a full PS Plus update, as we’re having the other swap out delayed until next week for whatever reason (it’s supposed to be monthly Sony, that means every 4-4 and a half weeks….) but we’re getting episodic “games” replacing actual full PSN titles…..

This has got to be the worst marketing ploy I’ve ever seen, to try and get more people buying into a series. Didn’t this thing sell amazingly for the developing company? Why are they having to do this so soon after launch? The only answer is to hook more people into buying the remaining three episodes -.-

Essentially turning the “instant game collection” into a freaking marketing tool.

  • God of War Origins Collection would be a great addition to PS Plus :)

  • Morgan whats up!? why do we have to wait another week for the other Plus freebies I was waiting for something good besides Walking Dead to come out. To make it logical I think Darksiders would be a excellent free game for Playstation plus. Since next week is Darksiders II it will be very fitting to have the first one for people who haven’t experience the game as of yet not to the mention those two games are paralled to eachother. Also due to the fact that June EU store had Renegade OPs and Darksiders as their Instant Collection games and last month we had Renegade OPs as our freebie. So if you guys haven’t decided I think Darksiders would be an excellent choice for Plus (if you guys haven’t decided yet).

  • You have GOT to be kidding me. This has litterally got to be the WORST Plus update ever. As warned by MANY plus users last week, lots of people are not going to renew plus next month due to this crap. I mean seriously. EU gets DEAD SPACE 2 free for plus, but we get this underrated crap? No just no.

  • wow I must of hit a major truth nerve on morgan since every question I’ve asked gets ignored lol. I am leaning into saying this is a company of scams and lies and hide with their tails between their legs when called out on their negative side of how they run things as a company. Its sony’s job to rip us off or leave us in the dark on simple questions or feedback on how to improve plus features. I guess doing the right thing is wrong in the business side of things for companies these days huh. How to give the customers everything they DON’T want. How to rage the customers more and more weekly. I bet you guys that all of the psn staff play on 360 more than ps3. Working for Sony is just their job and gaming isn’t on ps3 its on 360 I bet and they hype Sony cause its their Job to do that.

  • Also to add, i am NOT renewing plus next month. Im tired of having my money wasted and being slapped in the face by sony.

  • In the past I recommended PS+ to my friends but I won’t do that anymore now that I know your “strategy” for PS+ in the region is giving away bad (Gotham city impostors) and/or cheap (2 episodes of walking dead? come on) PSN games. No thank you.

  • You better just end plus. Its NOT worth it!

  • It there going to be an NFL Sunday Ticket on the PS3 this?

  • @JamesBlonde777

If it is something I’m buying because I have to have on launch day 20% is a fair deal. I was getting at full price so 20% is a bonus. 20% off is not a splurge price. For example I really want Pap & yo, but I’m considering waiting.

If I want the game but can wait, 50% would be a buy it now price. Otherwise I’m waiting until it is 50% off, it will go on sale, I can wait. The message here is 50% off is the right price no matter the time frame.

If I wasn’t interested in it, I have a I’ll buy most things for 75% off. Who knows I’ve been surprised by games I didn’t think I would like and ended up loving.See Hardboiled for an example.
