On July 10th, the LittleBigPlanet Karting Beta opened its doors to the world, and for three weeks both fans and newcomers alike had the opportunity to experience LBP Karting for themselves. With nearly 350 levels published every day and over 125,000 total participants, the LBP Karting Beta was extremely successful, and we want to thank everyone involved for their participation and feedback. We loved having you, and we can’t wait to see you all again when the game releases later this year!
For those of you who weren’t involved, we’d like to take this opportunity to share some of the most impressive creations that were crafted using LBP Karting’s intricate 3D Create tools. This is by no means comprehensive, but it is a very good selection, and we hope it will at least help sate your desire to get your hands on LBP Karting while we continue to polish the game. You can also head over to LittleBigPlanetarium.com to check out some other great LBP Karting Beta vids.
Also, don’t forget you still have a few days left to enter the LBP Karting PAX T-Shirt Contest! This is your chance to design our PAX Prime LBP Karting t-shirt, which will be shared with thousands of fans at the show in Seattle — you might even win a PlayStation Vita! Check out the contest page for all of the details, rules, and to enter.
This is some late feedback concerning the beta testing of Little Big Planet Karting, but better late than never. This is what my son, who is 8 years old, thought of the game.
Suggestions:
1. If you play against the computer, it can be really challenging. I suggest that the user should be able to adjust difficulty level.
2. There should be more “deadly” items.
3. There should be more items in create mode.
4. You should be able to turn more easily without using the skid button.
5. The jetpack should be able to go faster.
Things I liked:
1. I liked how you can change your character and car.
2. I liked the speed that the car went – some other racing games you don’t go as fast.
3. It is nice and easy to fire the weapons.
4. I think the game’s graphics are good.
5. I like how the bounce pads and ramps let get a lot of air.
Thank you for letting me be a beta tester.
I wasn’t sure where to report a problem I had with the beta, but I thought the developers should know that when I used the branch tool the game either took a really long time to load or froze. I only tried it once so it could have been a glitch or an issue with the system or just a one-time thing too. Just thought I would mention it though just in case it needs to be worked out.
