  • No demo for Dyad? I don’t like that. Should I still take the risk and buy it? I guess I’ll check some videos before I decide.

    MvC2 for $5? Awesome!

    • Reviews for it are pretty strong across the board, I certainly recommend it! But a demo should be on the radar soon.

  • Im glad theirs not to much for me here since the LBP Karting is 3.5 GB for a beta

  • Resistance Retrobution didnt work on the Vita i had tried downloading it to my system and transfering it to my vita but it didnt show up so it couldnt be an exploit but it must be getting fixed to work on the vita then.. thats good!

The LBP and Killzone games they offered us when the psn WENT down works too on vita.

  • still no PS1 games on vita, but do you think Ultimate MVC will go on sale maybe 50% off?

  • Hey Morgan, I thought of an idea for PS Plus. I don’t know if you would ever consider something like this but what if Plus members got a permanent 20% off all PS1 Classics? I’ll put this on Share as well and see what happens.

    • Great idea! But it would require getting sign off from every single publisher who has ever put a PS one Classic on the Store which is no small feat. But I like the idea

  • Could you please tell me the file size of Sports Champions? Is this discount up only to this store update or it is permanent?

    Thank you!!

  • PSVita – Why can’t we sort/create folders in Photos? Why can’t we get ps3 game videos on vita? Why isn’t the PS Vita Store showing MLB Vita as $29.99 like the earlier blog reported the new price to be? Come on guys, Vita action is still slow. Use that downtime to do something productive.

  • Do any other Plus members find themselves disinclined to purchase games, in the hopes / expectations that they will be offered for “free” down the road? Morgan, what are your thoughts on this? Possible market cannibilization?

    • We take care of our partners who place their games free in Plus; so they don’t see cannibalization. As for us, we’re all for more Plus members as it leads to healthier appetites for downloadable content all around, which is an overall win for us. Obviously we need to have a close eye though at what goes in the Instant Game Collection, but I’m afraid as a gamer, we can’t offer insight into what games are coming free super far down the road; so you may be waiting for a while!

  • @ 52 polo155

well i hope so. feel like i been waiting forever thought it would have been fixed in time to come out with resistance for the vita

  • So no new Vita compatible PSP games. No new PS1 Classics. No new PS2 Classics. Are these things even being worked on anymore? Or is Sony pretty much done when it comes to backwards compatibility? Just wonderin’

  • What about tony hawk pro skater hd Today they are supposed to PSN

  • still waiting for ps vita new games :/

  • @57
I feel the same way, but i’m afraid a game will go on sale a week after i buy it at full price.

  • Will there be a sale on Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 for the vita?

  • Ah there are two new PSP games in the Vita store. GTA: Liberty City Stories and Midnight Club LA. Well that’s something I guess, but why not mention that in the blog post?

  • This update sucks. What a s**tload of f**K.

Again, no SNK/Retro arcade games? YOU ARE FAILING, SONY. Until you put Samurai Shodown 2, Fatal Fury Special, and KOF 98 on the g**damn PSN Store, you suck and I will call you out and “troll” this blog until you do. Nintendo and Xbox already had these games for while, WHY NOT YOU?!! YOU SUCK!!! YOU’RE PATHETIC, YOU ARE FAILING. YOU STILL PEREFER 3D GARBAGE. I hope that the Wii-U (Coming out this holiday) Puts SECA and SONY out of business for good.

    • Fair warning; this is really not the best way to leave feedback. future posts like this can result in being banned from future comments on the blog. to be clear; it’s not because you’re critical of an issue (of which I always welcome), it’s because of the way it’s being expressed. please take it down a notch.

  • Thanks for the Vita discounts! I’ve been anticipating for a while. Just hope Zen studios can get their act together soon so we can have Zen Pinball 2.

  • @13 & 37, Demonbird & goofey12- Looks like Zen Studios needs more time before they release it; let’s hope the update drops next week!

@42, polo155- Thanks for the input, VT Tennis will be mine when I get home! ;)

@46, Victoryismine52- The digital pricing scheme for PSN cannot be compared to other platforms like the PC/mobile market. As much as we want to (since we view it as another means to play games), it’s a different market. Console makers & content devs & publishers have a say in the base/sale price point- if there is a servere price change on PSN it would ONLY be mirrored on MS Live.

  • I give up on the Escape Plan demo, it still doesn’t work :(

  • Um Sony should everyone buying a vita or already has a vita worry about this article I found on a tech website about OLED screens?

Everybody got all hot and bothered about Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) screens a year or three ago, but the darn things still don’t seem to last much longer than 2000 hours.

(Well, technically it’s just the blue OLEDs that don’t last very long; green lasts a lot longer and red lasts for ages. But people don’t seem all that crazy about paying for a TV that turns yellow, then red.)

Which is a bit of a problem. We can already make desktop-sized OLED screens, as well as the tiny ones you can buy on some phones and cameras and MP3 players today, but nobody wants to make desktop OLEDs if the things can still be expected to die in one year if you use them for 5.5 hours a day.

Some companies allege they’re well on the way to big commercial OLED displays, to be manufactured as soon as this year, and we’ve seen some impressive prototypes, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

  • Dyad looks like a good buy especially at the PSplus price

  • It’s a very welcome sight to see Vita games getting a discount for the US thank you :-)

  • No Dyad demo… It looks like such an odd game that I’m not willing to risk $12 and absolutely hate it. But once the demo comes along, I’ll probably want to “wait for a sale” and since the PSN discount expires 7/24, I’m guessing I won’t be buying it. What a shame. :(

  • Hey Morgan would you go for Rainbow Moon or Dyad, can only get one this week. Which would you recommend.?

    • tough call since they’re both awesome games. if you’re really looking for a new SRPG, Rainbow Moon. but if you want to play a crazy game which has gameplay that really haven’t been done before; go with Dyad.

  • Not much of an update, but Vita sales… well I’ll be damned.

More Warriors Orochi 3 DLC is certainly a plus too.

Shame the Steam sales has robbed me blind this week.

  • I guess I’ll be grabbing the free PSOne games and definitely buying Dyad, but since this update is focused on “The Games” and I’m not a huge fan of sports, not much else for me here. 5 Stars for a huge variety and good discounts, though. Two more weeks in July, looking forward to Zen Studios hitting their ETA for ZP2!

  • Since OLED screens only last so many hours before going out then I guess the vita isn’t a good investment and I might as well go back to walmart and buy a psp back so I can play all my ps one classics and psp digital games with ease.

  • Why is it that only grand theft auto was made compatible with vita and no others i dont get it

  • @estoc1

Dude… it’s awsome to see another person so passionate about Neo-Geo games but… seriously, just “find another way” to play them. I think SNK have given up on the Neo-Geo Station experiment, so don’t blame Sony about this one.

  • RENEGADE-Xx-xX, that 2,000 hour figure must be about very early blue OLEDs. I find it very hard to believe an OLED manufactured in late 2011 (when the Vita came out in Japan) would only have a lifespan of 2,000 hours. Recent articles point towards 14,000 hours, not 2,000 hours. I have not seen a recent article say 2,000 hours.

  • why dose one lil game take so long to process it should b so simple not much diff then the psp

  • Weak Plus offering, but I’ve felt that way ever since the twelve games in rotation started–it was a nice boon all at once but since then it’s been a slower trickle of new free games than before. Ah well. I’m still hopeful it’ll get better. For a while Plus was on FIRE!

Wondering if the Dyad demo will be out before the sale ends. Hmmmm.

    • considering the sale is for one week, I don’t think the demo will be making it in. But reviews are incredibly strong for the game, so it’s a pretty safe bet.

  • The article I read was from Dec 2011. Not that long ago that said 2000 hours.

  • Thanks SONY some sales for vita. \o/

  • Here is the link to that article talking about screens in general and OLED was brought up mid way in the article.

  • @ estoc1

  • in response to this update i will say get the gold usa.

  • cool guys!

  • So, if u dont have a PS3 u cant get discounts on the Vita? ( The PS Plus ones )

  • Wow. Just read through the comments. Some harsh, all-caps comments on here. Let’s keep it cool, let’s get along and have fun, eh? At the end of the day Sony provides us with an amazing service on a great console. See you guys in LBP Karting!

  • I just played Dyad and peeled myself away long enough to say it’s gorgeous, challenging, and super addictive. No regrets for buying it at all! Now back to playing. Thanks!

  • Another vote for bringing the Konami sale on the DLC for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow to the U.S. (UK already got it). Please!

  • @ ID_Arti

If that is the way it goes that would be so wrong on so many levels lol

  • with Agarest 2 now on PSN will we see Agarest Zero be put up as well? :D

  • Yipee! Free Mass Effect 3 DLC!

I just hope there’s another sale on DYAD down the road after the demo is released. I just got too much backlog and other things on my wish list to take a chance.

Also, how come the PS Plus sale price for Top Spin 4 ($14.69) is the same as the non-member price (listed under “The Games Sale”)? There may be others, but that’s the one that interested me.

  • PS+ Vita sales? Whoa. Thanks for listening guys.

  • Thanks for the feedback devilmosh! Been hearing nothing but good things. Worried the demo might not drop in time to take advantage of the sale, so I’ll definitely grab it before the sale ends if it looks like that’ll be the case. Doesn’t seem like much of a risk!

  • I already own Record of Agarest War 2(would’ve bought it digitally If I had known it was coming out but oh well) It is an excellent game you will not be disappointed! Nice to see a price change on those PSP games will look into those one day especially Blazing Souls. and I picked up the free Mass Effect 3 and Record of Agarest War 2 dlc. Good week if you ask me!
