As the celebration of Ratchet & Clank’s 10th Anniversary has unfolded this year, we’ve received your anxious e-mails, tweets and Facebook messages asking us when you can get your hands on the Ratchet & Clank Collection in North America. Today, we can tell you the remaster of three original PS2 Ratchet & Clank games will be available at retailers and via PlayStation Network on August 28th for $29.99!
The Collection features 1080p HD remasters of three PS2 Ratchet & Clank classics: Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal. In addition, these three games have Trophy and 3D support (in 720p), and the fine folks over at Idol Minds have restored online play to Up Your Arsenal. At last, those who missed out on competitive R&C gameplay during the PS2 Network Adapter era can finally check it out!
We realize that the Ratchet & Clank Collection is arriving in North America a bit later than it did in Europe and Japan. To reward you for your patience, we’re giving you exclusive first access to the Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time demo when you purchase the Collection. If you love Ratchet, you probably love Sly, and the Ratchet & Clank Collection will let you test drive Sly’s new time-traveling adventure starting on August 28th. As an added bonus, you’ll receive a special Ratchet & Clank 10th anniversary avatar!
We can’t wait to for you to get your hands on these three remastered Ratchet & Clank games, the Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time demo and the 10th anniversary avatar on August 28th. In the meantime, keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages for the latest on the Collection, as well as the newly announced Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault!
…I love you.
Has the online been fully changed to fully implement PSN? Like friend invites and all that? My dad loved these games. I bought all three for him. Then I eventually loved them myself. I’ve been hoping for a full experience like these on the ps3 with online and all. But I guess I’ll have to go back and play these.
Even if it’s not gonna be free with the collection, you guys should still put Ratchet: Deadlocked on PSN; Remastered or not. PLEASE REMASTER THOUGH, I WILL GLADLY PAY!
I know its off topic but i wanted to let my fellow gamers know that unchained blades now works on vita if you transfer from a ps3! :)
I am very interested since I missed out during the PS2 days! Is this serious more “actiony” than Jak and Daxter? I bought the Jak collection but it was very platform based and I just could not get into it so I sold it.
$29.99!? GREAT PRICE!!! Unlike some other recent game collection previously released based on survival horror…
@102:
Its much more action oriented IMO.
My first ever Playstation game was Ratchet and Clank: Up your Arsenal. I enjoyed it so much, I still nostalgia over the slugs in those sewers taking my time to 100% it.
I’ve had Tools of Destruction for a while as well but haven’t finished it. Was waiting for this to pop up again so I have a chance to play through everything chronoligcally. Then I will get A crack in time as well.
Am I the only one who gets a headache from playing All 4-1? I’m not saying its bad, its just that replaying through it gives me headaches. The coop part was awesome, but too bad its so linear.
So, um, yeah, uh, where’s the Sly demo for Vita?
Also: R&C Collection is day-one for me, sirs.
And yeah, I’m happy about the price of 29.99 USD, (hopefully the same price in Canada), but I would have preferred to have gotten it earlier like EU without the Sly 4 demo (I don’t import either).
Kinda dissapointed with the surprise, but I guess we were all too excited to begin with. I especially detest timed exclusive stuff as I feel this is going to appeal more to Sly fans and introduce them to the R&C series rather than introducing R&C fans to Sly. The demo should have been released to everyone at once on PSN, but hey Sony sells more copies this way so more $$$ to them.
Which reminds me, after playing through Sly 1 since it got on PS+ a few months ago, I forgot to purchase the trilogy T_T’
Now, I’ve gotten big on buying the HD collections digitally, but do these bonuses come with just the retail copy or will they also be included with the digital version? That’s the difference between me buying a playstation store card tomorrow or stashing money away for the end of August.
How come Deadlocked isn’t in the collection?
It’s good that they will be separate as well, I’m only interested in UYA. Any word on a date for Deadlocked?
I might get this eventually… $30 isn’t much, but HD remakes are just OK.
the sly demo is meh for waiting 2 months…. considering PS3 games are almost always region free I can see this being imported from england.
Just curious, would it be possible for R&C Collection be ported to the PS Vita? I heard awhile back that the Jak & Daxter Collection was and I would kinda love it for my favourite childhood games make a debut on the PS Vita. :)
So what’s the catch? $29 + 3D Support, MP Support, Trophy Support + 3 HD Remakes and Sly 4 demo… WHERE’S THE CATCH?? Is the Sly 4 demo only for PS3 or could it be downloaded on the PS Vita?
No catch =)
Demo is PS3 only
