Not to diss PSN with my above post; I love PSN that’s why I come to the blog every week to see the sales – and I own over 50 PSN games. But just for user/consumer input: PSN still seems to be too expensive (compared to Steam or sale prices at stores). Steam’s deals put you to shame, but i think they have less red tape than you guys do? I just wanted to say that I liked what you guys did with pixel junk games a few weeks back, (you sold em for a buck!), i wonder how that promotion did for ya? I’d like to see more of that :) (And i had already bought them at full price back in the day, it was just a great sale!).I can see no reason for older games like “elefunk” and “echochrome” not to be on sale super cheap these days, even for weekend deals. For example, i bought Alice Madness returns from Target 2 months ago for $12.99 box copy, its on sale on Steam today for $5.99, what would it be on PSN? $20.99 I bet? Your average deals are usually 30% off, not great. When you do have good sales I am always appreciative though :) Cross my fingers for tomorrow! (Castle Crashers for 50% off one of these days!?)
I’m going to pick up Mafia II. 15 USD for the package is a very good offer.
I want L.A. Noire as well, but I’m going to wait a little more, because I want it the blu-ray version.
Motorstorm Apocalypse should be priced at $39.99 and $29.99 for ps plus subscribers, $50 is too expensive considering you can get the game cheaper at certain stores
That is pretty EPIC, I just bought Red Dead last week (Kicks myself!) I would like to see a DeusEx Ultimate and Arkham City. Keep these Digital Games coming, I for one stopped buying disc based content! Digital is the FUTURE!
Ugh, so tempted to get L.A Noire. All that content for $20! 28GB file though, that’s a long download and install time >.<
If possible, I think that a Deus Ex: Human Revolution bundle would be great. Thanks for these deals! =)
Oh yea.. you guys should really consider a Dead Space 2 addition in there btw.
That’s it. I’m making PS3 my lead platform. If I had known my 360 would turn into an ad riddled slow as molasses device with terrible DRM implementation, I would have stuck with Sony ages ago. I wish I hadn’t bought 360 versions of all these games already. I wish my 360 library did not outnumber my PS3 library 10 to 1.
Oh, and please keep this up. It’s an amazing idea! It will turn me into a PS3/PS4 digital only gamer in no time.
are you guys planing on any future. realising God Of War 3 as a digital download. .. i already downloaded both collections ( origings and ps2). and i will love to have. all of the god of war games. in my system. please. replay. and thanks.
I might pick up L.A. Noire. Looks fantastic, but I probably won’t play it until this summer since my HDD space is down to 2GB. Thanks for pushing these great deals for Plus members, it’s very much appreciated.
BTW, regarding what’s included with the inFamous 2 edition, the image used on the main PS blog page for this announcement post is Cole from Festival of Blood.
This is a GREAT idea, but, my question is.. will this ultimate editions be periodical? or is a one time deal?( not the games, but the promotion)
Excellent. This is the best initiative i have seen here in a while :)
I prefer digital versions of bluray games (although i also like physical if it is a truly limited edition), so i’ll be all over these provided you add my type of games:
– Heavy Rain, GoW 3, Yakuza 3, 4 + Dead Souls, Resistance 3, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 & 2, Uncharted ect
Shooters as far as the eye can see~
Nothing of interest for me this time around. Not a bad idea however. As PSNs PS3 retail collection grows some more diverse stuff should pop up in Ultimate Edition form. Hope Sega can be persuaded to get onboard some day, having Sonic Generations, Valkyria Chronicles, and Yakuza games on my hdd would be nice. Maybe get Sonys own Folklore up there (for cheap~ it is nearly 5 years old) in Ultimate Edition form since the pricing on its DLC/Bundles have never changed. :(
Good List… I might get Bioshock 2, don’t know the others, COD still looks too expensive to me, I would have definitely bought Dead Space 2 if it would have been included…
One question thought, does MK includes the Online Pass?
Nice deal if your a Playstation Plus member like myself, the Red Dead Redemption deal is great for me, I almost bought the game of the year edition on disc for $30, as a playstation plus member I get it $10 cheaper digitally. (these purchases better transfer over to sony’s next gen console).
I’m confused over the Motorstorm Apocalypse deal though. What comes with this digital bundle? I can get the retail disc for $30 new, I don’t see any mention of dlc.
is there Kratos in this Mortal Kombat Edition?
I really hope at least for future releases/updates that other games will be included like Psp/Vita (when it gets some) and PSN titles. in all honesty as a user of all 3 (psp/Vita/ps3) i feel left out as it seems Psn in general is only catered to Ps3 users, eg PS+ which i wouldnt include ps1/mini as psp/vita content, majority of the store updates have a majority of Ps3 titles, with psp/vita rarely getting some top priority-type updates.
But all in all this is a great idea and like i said catering towards more than just ps3 users will help in the long run, so i hope its something that is on the company mind.
Looking at today’s list, InFamous 2 will be mine for sure. Thanks! :)
Gah!! I was trying to not buy anything for awhile, but can’t pass these up!! I already have just cause 2 on disc, but will get the ultimate for the dlc and for the convenience of having it on the hd. Probably will pick up Mafia and MK as well.
2 more suggestions though!! Please get ultimate editions for Fallout New Vegas and Borderlands (I think they had a sale on it and the dlc already, but i missed it!!).
Thanks!!
Hey Paul,
I forgot to ask but, I’m just wondering if you’re planning on having these Ultimate Edition deals monthly or every couple of months? I have to prepare my wallet just incase! =)
@Link01
The Vita version of Mortal Kombat already comes with all the DLC.
@Paul Sullivan
I know you guys are trying to get SOME profit going Evolution’s way. They really got the short end durring the PSN outage. Motorstorm released smack in the middle of the outage, and therefore got ZERO PSBlog hype pre-launch. You guys on the blog really should have “relaunched” Motorstorm Apocalypse after the Blog was back up and running.
So I understand why you guys want to make them some money. But really, Motorstorm is a year old.Came out a week or 2 after Mortal Kombat. I’ve been wanting to buy the game but it’s still even $60 in the stores. I wish you could call someone and get that (plus) price down to $30, which is what I have in my PSN wallet. If not, I hope I can swing another PSN card this week. Money’s tight.
I think the best game you could offer on this new promotion (which is genius btw) would be Dragon Age Origins. One of the best RPGs ever and has alot of epic DLC. And they already have the game with all the DLC on store shelves so it’s good for all sides. $20
Darth Krayt, I know where you’re coming from with money being tight. The deals listed today are pretty firm in their prices, but I’ll let the right folks know about your thoughts. Appreciated.
