It’s been a busy month on the PSN front, as we put together yet another jam-packed PlayStation Plus update, kicked off the massively-popular Mass Effect 3: N7 Weekly Challenges, dropped the PSN exclusive game PixelJunk 4am as part of an epic PlayStation Store update, and more!
Regular maintenance is a necessary part of operating a service such as PSN. As part of our efforts to continue to deliver you a world-class online entertainment experience on your PS3 and PS Vita devices, we will be performing maintenance on the network on Thursday, May 24th, starting at approximately 8:00 am PDT / 10:00 am EDT and concluding around 11:00pm PDT / 2:00am EDT.
During this maintenance period, you may receive a message that states “PlayStation Network is undergoing maintenance” when attempting to access the PlayStation Store or PlayStation Home. Online play will not be affected and you will be able to enjoy apps such as Netflix and Amazon Instant Video during this maintenance as well, provided that you have signed into the network within 5 days prior to the start of the maintenance period.
We will update you with any changes that may occur in regards to this maintenance. If you would like to receive a notice when PSN is fully restored, be sure to follow the official PlayStation Twitter account.

I couldn’t care less if PlayStation Network had 24-hour periods of maintenance time or 2-hour periods. I think PlayStation Network is doing a great job with everything they are doing, and I hope they keep t up. I also really like how they have very kind people to speak to and get help and updates from. Thanks for the updates, Matthew. I also hate it when people use things like btw and tmi too often, but people like Matthew spell correctly and you always know what they are talking about.

I’m loving the vita. It would be nice if you guys made a shared download menu for cross platform purchases and downloads. Other than that I think the next thing to change should be putting out more apps and downloadable software like the google play store for both PS3, PSP, and Vita. I love the idea of being super connected, outside my computer and phone!

Whats bugging me most lately, along with my friends is the too frequent network errors, excessive downtime and this companies inability to fix the problems. It’s compounded by lack of factual communication.

Many corporations keep their “tricks of the trade” under wraps in order to maintain a leg-up on the competition. Who cares if someone has bad grammar or bad spelling, the people with a actaul education and a refined sence of personality and self esteem along with a large amount of interaction with other humans on a normal basis will just sit back, listen in and in there mind adjust the wrongs and try not to make themselves look like idiots whiling pointin out faults of which anyone could put two and two together and realize what they ment. Cookie-Concetta, you don’t need to bother with that loser. He’s a troll who’s lifes ambition is being a street corner evangalist for the cult of sony. And as you’ve surmised nobody takes him seriously except himself, and yes he’s still a virgin. Trolls like him resort to ad hom attacks such as picking on spelling as he has no real argument based in reality. Facts can be really annoying like that to the petty uninformed mind. As the rest of us with at least moderate intelligence its clear this is no trade secret. In fact the excessive secrecy pushes the limits of legality. Regulators & lawmakers take a dim view of deceptive business practices especially after last years psn fiasco and other overused examples normally found on Wall St.
Back to the topic at hand. I can say the PSN store came back sometime in the past 20 minutes. Home is still down atm. Not such a big deal considering the late hour here in NA but less than amusing for those in the Pacific rim.

Thx Wanda, I don’t normally post here. But home is down and I was restless and I saw that guy wrongfully “attack” another part of the community that did nothing to him. I never understood why people can be so uptight about how you spell things or how u place words next to each other. Yet anyone with even the smallest amount of common sence can understand. What are they really think they are proving. Odviously nothing of a social life, odviously nothing of a actaul education. It’s like I want to just ask: “Sure u got a A on your English test, now can you put 2 + 2 and figure it out also?”

Yes I do agree James. And I beleive I have encountered him before online and not sure “troll” is demeaning enough for such. Sometimes I wonder how Sony moderation teams really truely work, I know more then most do but I’m still udderly baffled by how it’s open to allowing people as the such return or allowing people return with huge amounts of bans from fighting in there “fams” that’s the reason I avoid joining “fams” or the like is not 1 person like me in such. I do admit to having 1 PSN ban for bad langauge but it was only effective for 24 hours. And I’m on most everyday, I’m oddly addicted to ps home so for all the amount of time I racked up on ps home and only getting 24 of basically a timeout at most, since most people get the boot for a week for such offence.I hope I’m not seeming too conceited or negitive about others. But I’ll never understand such hostility about such such mundane crap online. I do unpleasant to people, but mostly pointed at people that do deserve such for like primero for absolutely no reason tring to make you feel like crap. I get protective of the weaker and the people that get attacked like such because it starts BS. And it’s not even right!

This is crap and you know it! You told us 2am Eastern time, and it’s now just a couple minutes before 6am Eastern time, and guess what? There’s still no connectivity!! You need to get your thumbs out of your butts and send out at least a 3 days notice to EVERY ONE of your PSN contributors when you pull this kind of crap, then get it back on line when you say you will….. Like last year when you went down, you said half a month to a month, and it was almost 4. And what sucks now like then is that you don’t communicate your progress, the problem of not making the deadline time, or a true apology for those of us that have paid for plus or sunk a lot of money into the PSNetwork. I’m doing my best to watch what I say like you asked, but every other word wants to curse you out til you cry.
