PlayStation 3

ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection (3D Support) — ICO, a mysterious boy, has been expelled from his village to an isolated castle. Within his confines, he begins to have eerie dreams of rescuing a young princess from the evil spirits that dwell within the fortress. Blurring the lines between fantasy and reality, ICO embarks on a quest to save the princess and, along the way, discovers his own cryptic fate.

Shadow of the Colossus is a majestic journey through ancient lands to seek out and destroy gigantic mythical beasts. With your trusty horse at your side, explore the spacious lands and unearth each Colossi. Armed with your wits, plus a sword and a bow, you’ll use cunning and strategy to topple each behemoth.

Child of Eden (PS Move and 3D Support) — Child of Eden is the “multi-sensory shooter” that will send players diving into a kaleidoscopic matrix of synchronized music and mind-blowing visuals, and will usher forth yet another landmark game experience from the mind of renowned game designer Tetsuya Mizuguchi. Child of Eden thrusts you into the center of a battle to save Project Lumi, a mission to reproduce a human personality inside Eden, the archive of all human memories. As the project nears completion, the archive is invaded by an unknown virus. The player’s mission is to purify Eden of the virus in order to restore hope and peace.

Tom Clancy’s: Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy — Experience the first three of the original action-packed Splinter Cell franchise games, now digitally re-mastered in high definition and available on one Blu-ray Disc or as a PSN download bundle. Explore the conspiracy like never before with enhanced graphics that deliver a truly visceral action gaming experience. Included are Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

FIFA Soccer 12 (Also on PSP & PS2) — FIFA Soccer 12 brings to the pitch the game-changing new Player Impact Engine, a physics engine built to deliver real-world physicality in every interaction on the pitch.All-new Precision Dribbling delivers a higher fidelity of touch on the ball for attacking players, while Tactical Defending fundamentally changes the approach to defending by placing equal importance on positioning, intercepting passes and tackling.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 — This year, Konami is determined to give global football fans a truly realistic, immersive and a delightfully playable take on the beautiful game. Creative Producer Shingo “Seabass” Takatsuka has been sourcing the desires of fans across the globe and working non-stop on marrying the digital game to the real life game so fans can get as close to the real thing. All elements have been examined – defense, offense, AI, penalties, officiating and of course, graphics!

Atelier Totori: The Adenture of Arland — The small fishing village of Alanyaon the Arland Republic’s southern border is home to the young alchemist-in-training Totooria Helmold. One day, she resolves to make the journey to Arland, become an adventurer, and explore the world beyond her hometown. She will make many friends along her journey of discovery —some new, some familiar. When her quest comes to a close, your actions over the course of the game will dictate whether she finds the answers to her questions, forge unbreakable bonds with friends, or take different paths entirely.

X-Men: Destiny — Players control the fate of one of three brand-new mutant characters forced to choose between saving humanity or ensuring its destruction. The branching storyline, penned by acclaimed Marvel writer Mike Carey, features a deep element of choice, allowing players to customize the path, powers and development of their character and to decide their role in the mutant cause alongside, or against, some of Marvel’s greatest X-Men franchise characters, such as Magneto, Cyclops, Wolverine and Gambit.

Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2012 — With the world as their playground, players will explore a vast expanse of mountains and valleys with unprecedented choices in direction never before seen in a Cabela’s hunting game. Players can climb an area to get a better angle for the shot but risk being spotted, or they can take a low elevation route with poor visibility but plenty of concealment. In order to bag the trophies, players will have to avoid detection through cunning, skill, and deception.

Rochard (PSN Exclusive // Demo Available) — Rochard follows the story of the humble astro-miner John Rochard, who accidentally discovers an ancient structure hidden deep in an asteroid, thus proving mankind isn’t alone in the universe. After John finds himself stranded on the asteroid, space pirates attack the mine, and John quickly realizes there are surprising and dangerous forces at work. Using only his wits, everyday mining tools and a healthy dose of sarcasm, John must fend off the pirates, save his team and solve the mystery behind his discovery.

Resident Evil: CODE Veronica X HD (PS Plus: 50% Off)– After narrowly surviving the horrific onslaught in Raccoon City, Claire Redfield now seeks clues in search of her missing brother, Chris. To her horror, she discovers Umbrella Corporation’s insidious activities are not isolated to the remote, mid-western city. No. Something much larger is going on here. Flesh-eating zombies and horrific beasts haunt Claire’s every move. Just how far does this twisted conspiracy extend? What is Umbrella Corporation really up to? And who is behind this biotech terror? The answer lies within.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 — For the first time in the history of this award-winning sports franchise, players are able to step onto the hallowed grounds of Augusta National, experience the rich history and tradition of the Masters Tournament and begin their own journey to capture the most sought-after prize in professional golf — the Green Jacket.

Castlevania: Harmony of Despair — Featuring the classic fast paced 2D, side scrolling action the series is known for, fan favorite vampire hunters from across the series will join forces to return Dracula, the Lord of Darkness, to his eternal slumber. Designed by the legendary producer of the Castlevania series, Koji Igarashi, Castlevania Harmony of Despair allows up to six friends to play together via online co-op story mode or see who the best vampire hunter is in Survival Mode, which challenges players to fend off their friends while fighting for their very survival.

Mercury Hg (Demo Available) — The ‘Mercury Blob’ is still as mesmerizing as ever, moving uniquely under player control, changing color in order to progress through the level and dividing if cut by a protruding surface. While this dissection is important to solve puzzles, the real test of a player’s skill is the ability to navigate strategically through varying types of slippery objects and sticky tiles with the use of balance and momentum in order to get to the finish line with their blob fully intact. A scoring system with full online leaderboard support adds a competitive touch to an already engrossing single-player experience.

  • How many games are you going to remove Rey?

  • So nice to see Harmony of Despair finally coming out. Child of Eden is nice too. Do you control the game with one or two move controllers?

  • I’ll take Castlevania, Mercury & Revoltin’ Youth.

  • Are Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Trilogy for RETAIL STORES AND PSN, right? Or simply just RETAIL STORES ONLY?

  • looking like an awesome week for gaming.

I’m kind of interested in X-Men Destiny, but I’m really unsure. This is one of those instances where a demo would make or break whether or not I buy the game.

Otherwise, I’m looking forward to my Atelier Totori special edition I preordered. Also going to pick up Ico Collection of course.

On the fence about Splinter Cell collection. I guess that’s a maybe. I have Splinter Cell conviction sitting here on my 360 (I got it used for 5 bucks during a sale…) I never played it…but it would be nice to get a more full story first. Are the Splinter Cell games even story driven? Or more so just about the gameplay and action?

  • Castlevania, about freakin’ time… I hope you guys don’t remove it

  • Castlevania + Ico & Sotc for me this week.

    Good Drop so far.

  • Splinter Cell!!! :D

  • So no FFVI or Chrono Trigger?

  • Still have “The Drop” job huh? Good for you.

Looking like a good week (Getting Ico/SOTC Collection and Totori, can’t say I really give a hoot what comes out on PSN this week), it’ll be fun to see how much of this actually comes out though.

  • Finally after the years of waiting, ICO is here. And what is this XMen thing I just am hearing about now? “surprise. buy me.” nope.

  • any chance that Ico/Shadow collection will see a same day digital release?

  • Jelly Pops is already in the store

  • I was hoping Ico and SotC would be also on PSN, so I could cancel my Amazon pre-order. Oh, well, have to get off my butt & change discs, darn!

Castlevania, yada yada. Yay, one more taken off the whiners checklist!!! By my obvservation, there should only be one or two constant blog-hijacking complaints left. That alone justifies my 5 bars.

    Thanks, Rey.

  • ok I know Castlevania includes a dlc but is there any word on the other DLC’s for it, i think theres 2 (not sure off top of head). anyway just curious if the other DLC will be available tuesday or if they are planned for another date.

also if you can find me release dates on the Pixeljunks & Journey i’d be all set.

  • Excellent week of new things! i’ll be getting HoD

  • So when do I get to see Final Fantasy 6 or ChronoTrigger? You guys put that in the drop last week and then it got removed. That sucked.

  • so shadows of the colossus and ico wont go on the psn store?

  • Ico/SotC is mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Only two more days. So many good games out right now.
Currently playing: Resistance 3, Global Resistance, Dead Island, Renegade Ops, and Now Ico/SotC HD! :D

  • Wow Rey, I don’t see any mistakes in this post at all! You must have worked really hard on this. You should be proud of yourself!

Still, just in case, I’m going to wait until the store update before I get my hopes up that any of these games are actually coming to PSN.

  • Awesome! Finally, I can get my hands on the Team ICO collection and I’m mildly surprised that Castlevania is finally going to be on PSN.

Darn, and I’ve been trying to save dough for the Dark Souls coming out soon, thanks for ruining that plan Sony!

  • One thing I really hoped you DROPED over the last week was your fact checkers…otherwise how can I take this seriously?

  • ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection will be available on the psn store?????? Please answer me

  • how about adding the psone classics that were skipped in last weeks drop, that would be an honest miracle.
you guys are expected to drop what you say you are going to drop not just get everybody all excited then like all politicians give us nothing but crap.

  • Getting a PSN card ASAP for Castlevania.
I wonder if “ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection” will have a PSN release like “God of War Origins Collection”.

    @Cagalli
Don’t worry, they just don’t have an exact release date.

  • still no news about the portal 2 dlc ?

  • Legend of Dragoon Please. Its only the greatest playstation classic ever.

  • “The Drop, error free for 3 hours and counting!”

  • @Timewalker-Ben
I really hope they release all the DLC. There are three other chapters besides the one included in this release and also an extra chapter with Getsu Fuma.

  • How much is the Splinter Cell Bundle?

  • The portal 2 dlc is based on valve time. So, expect that sometime next year. But there are tons of disc releases this week. I was kind of hoping the xmen game supports couch co/op like the others did, but nothing for me to buy this week. Here is hoping for next week.

  • lol Now with editors note. So what exactly is Rey responsible for?

Does the Dead Nation DLC still come this week? Not surprising that it’s not listed.

  • Is Castlevania really coming? After last week I have many doubts.

  • Legend of Legaia would be a nice addition to the PSone library. When I played it on the PS2, it had a delay in the audio of the battles’ voice tracks, ruining the moment for special “arts” sequences. I wonder if the company Prokion is still alive.

  • only thing good this week is splinter cell, castlevania and resident evil. i care less about trophies so resident evil comes first although i still have this on ps2. and all i have money for is resident evil. ill pick up castlevania and splinter cells when they go on sale. all the castlevanias got suckier with each one after the original one.

  • And here I thought I was the only one, I second that Pocket 321. Legend of Dragoon is the only turn-based game I could ever get into and it’s by far one of the greatest hits of the original Playstation.

Here’s to dreamin’ Sony hears our pleas and remasters that one day.

  • @ Lisatsunami–well played indeed. I could not have put it better mineself. I just want cross-game chat more than anything in the world…no that would be the Battlefield 3 beta beginning tuesday….well no need to spend money this week. RAGE comes out next Tuesday, Hooray!!!

  • I’m loving these remastered titles! Please get Insomniac to remaster the original three Spyro games. There’s a lot of people who would love to see those games remastered. Why did you ever sell the Spyro license Insomniac? The Legends series really ruined what was an excellent game!

  • The Child of Eden description seems like it had a part cut off. “Another landmark game experience from Tetsuya Mizuguchi”, but where is Rez and Lumines? Its kind of weird when you read “another masterpiece from John Doe” but the previous works aren’t mentioned. Well, no big deal.

  • YoU better be wrong and i sure hope you know what to put on the psn store this week.

  • Gonna pick up Mercury Hg! As for Splinter Cell, was hoping for Conviction to be included too but no luck!

  • I’ve heard nothing but good news from the Ico and Shadow of Colossus Collections. Since I never got a chance to play them on the PS2, I might have to pick them up now. Not to mention, at Gamestop, the price for both PS2 versions together cost more than the Collection does.

Never liked Splinter Cell but I’m assuming that they will also be seperate download titles just like the Prince of Persia games were? They are on the European store.

Never played Code Veronica either but I got Resident Evil 4 so I might be able to get it to add to the collection.

Lastly, now the people whining about Castlevania can quit crying.

  • I can’t wait until ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection comes out! I am definitely swinging by the store on one of my breaks in between classes. This should help with the wait until THE LAST GUARDIAN!!!

  • Oh yeah! Harmony of Despair! :D

  • I’m with Cagalli. I want to see Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy Vi

  • wow, what a week. 2 HD collections, a new IP, a couple sports games, a licence game and a sequel. This is really a week for everyone!

  • I would also like to see Extermination remastered…..or maybe a sequel or something. That game was beast!

  • Castlevania, Child of Eden, Ico and Splinter Cell all look hawt.

  • My copy of ICO/SotC should be shipping from Amazon soon with release date delivery!
