Hi Everyone –
The second week of PlayStation Network PLAY is upon us with the release of The Baconing! This comical action RPG continues the story of Deathspank, this time with a sci-fi twist. As part of PSN PLAY, if you purchase The Baconing before 9/19/2011, you’ll receive a free DLC co-op character in the form of Roesha – One Bad Mutha. If you’re on the fence, download The Baconing demo which is also in today’s Store update. The following week’s PSN PLAY titles are still available for pre-ordering on the Store including BloodRayne: Betrayal and Renegade Ops.
For fighting game fans, you’ll want to check out the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection. Experience the original trilogy in an entirely new light featuring online play, leaderboards, and trophies. While the visuals have come a long way, the gameplay in these classics (klassics?) is still razor sharp and fun as ever.
PlayStation Plus subscribers also get access to some amazing content this week including first dibs on the God of War: Origins Collection demo. The demo hits all of PSN next week, but Plus subscribers will be some of the first to see how Kratos’ PSP adventures have made the HD transition to the PS3 before the game hits stores on September 13th. Also, in a special Store publish on 9/2, Plus subscribers will also be getting access to the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Multiplayer Beta.
Lastly, Madden 12 is here and downloadable for PSP. Featuring all 32 teams, stadiums, and all your favorite players in the league, Madden NFL 12 on PSP is the best way to get the Madden experience on the go!

I’d like to make a request. Spyro: Year of the Dragon needs to be updated to the Greatest Hits version, because I’ve run into the infamous speedway egg glitch. This has really broken the game for me, and a simple update would fix it!
Also, the Plus related update you stated will be next week (yes, I even read the comments) had better be good because I’m on the fence over my subscription as well. If it wasn’t for all the games I lose access to without it, I’d probably have alteady canceled.
i bought Dragon Age Origins digital download last week at $29.95….yet the Awakening expansion is $39.95….!! Seriously….??!! When can we expect discount on DCL for this game….??

Used to spend $5 every saturday at the arcades playing the first mortal kombat game before they brought it to the sega genesis back in the day , then I just had to buy a genesis to play this game .
too bad they didn’t do it an HD remake version instead but it’s still the best fighting game other than streetfighter

also psp mini can be played on ps and ps3. from what i understand or is that limted to certain games..

Hey guys, any idea when/if street fighter alpha 3 will be released as psone classic? I heard the esrb rated it about the same time as alpha 2 sooo i was just wondering if anyone had heard or knows anything about it.

1. Qore sucks. 1 topic in 4 months that even interested me (Journey). Same overpriced hyped garbage the majority of the time. And frankly, the host is annoying.
2. “Early’ Beta’s and Demos have no real value. They are limited play experience at best. I’ve never downloaded one once one loaded it’s trophy collection to mine. If I don’t have the game, it should not permanently load into your profile. Why waste the HD space? Watch a video and you’ll see everything you need to know. Just over-hyped to play up the ‘value’ of Plus. Not to mention usually EVERYONE has access after a week or 2 so it only has inherent value for the very impatient.
3. The ONLY lasting value is the discounts you get buying ‘stuff’ off PSN. Which, if you buy alot of games, it will pay for itself (did in first 3 months for me..last 2 months have been crap…and i still have another 12.) Your “free” games are RENTALS so let’s not even go there.

The highlight of this demo for me is Elevator Action Deluxe. Im a 80’s arcade gamer and loved the hell out of this game back then, and with the original game packed in, priced at $9.99, this is a STEAL !!

$9.99, REALLY ? Thats an insanely GOOD price, for 3 of the best MK games in the series. If your a MK fan, there is no reason to bypass this.
PS+ members are again the winners this week. Discounts on many games for psp is cool, but that Assasins Creed Beta access is just icing on the PS+ cake.
There is so much great stuff here on PSN this week, its hard to say anything negative, except, where is CASTLEVANIA:HOD ?. All in all, this is the best update that we have hade in months, and what better way to celebrate other than a great score.

Wooo MW2 Map pack’s 50% of YES!
You know what is totally “funny” to all of those whom are so, giddy and happy over that (whimpy) Mortal Kombat arcade bundle? It’s been done over and over (again!) Literally. All you have to do is sport the same amount of cash on the Midwar arcade bundle and you get over a dozen games more too. Plus this bundle sold for pretty much everyone (even the PlayStation Portable.) All this bundle does is take away the other dozen games and give you some gimpy online play (if you care) and forces to chock up the same amount you can buy the Midway bundle. Ta-da…
I swear people go, ga-ga for the stupidist stuff. So, long as it’s “shiny” I suppose.

Sony get your stuff together and get just cause 2, god of war 3, both fallouts, nascar 11, all the call of dutys, blackopts and for crying out loud get GT5 on psn for download cause I prefer download than overrated blueray disc. Sorry but you blueray laser in ps3 is junk. I never had one last me more than a year so I decided DL only. I hope dead island is on psn or youll never get a purchase from me. It should be a standard now that every game released gives us a choice between disc or DOWNLOAD. Im missing out cause I will not buy disc no more. Your laser is junk.
