PlayStation Network is scheduled to undergo maintenance today, from about 8am until approximately 5pm Pacific time. During this time, registration and Account Management will be inaccessible, including the password reset process. While some users may experience difficulty signing in to PSN, the majority of consumers will be able to play online as well as sign in to external sites that require PSN authentication (like this one).
For those asking about the PlayStation Store, we’re still targeting restoration of all services by the end of this month. Contrary to reports, the Store will not be publishing today.

@dsafdsa – FIRST off, Sony is offering old, out of date games that the majority arent interested in. SECOND thing, chances are, anyone who was interested in those games already has them. THIRD, I’m pretty sure those who were interested in Playstation Plus, have already ordered it. FOURTH, Sony is partially responsible for the intrusion because they were aware of the vulnerability but chose not to take the proper precautions. FIFTH, those who are interested in the games being offered will need to download them & take up valuable space on their console. Basically what Im getting at, is that we have every right to complain & doing so shouldnt be viewed as a sign of ignorance.

SONY needs to get the PSN Store back up and running so we can download these trailers to our PS3s, and also to purchase new games, and download our old ones to new PS3s. This is really starting to push my buttons SONY. Just get the PSN Store back up and running! :( There is only so much one can take!
BTW, inFamous was my favorite title this entire generation of gaming, and I know the second one will be incredible. But, how can I get the word out if I can’t get anything from the PS Store to show my friends?? :( What? tell them to just visit this blog and view it on some 20″ monitor on their PC, instead of on a 150″ Projector screen, or on a 3DTV?
SONY, get with the program. I want my PSN Store back up and running! This is finally getting to me. Over a month now there has been no access to the PSN Store to retrieve my downloadable games to put on my new PS3 systems, (of which I own 5 of them!), and I would like a timeline of when that is going back up!
The greatest game to come this year (inFamous2), and I can’t even download some awesome trailers to my PS3 system via the PSN Store. This is completely, absolutely, such a let down, that I can’t even express how I feel on this Blog with words….
Some people can log on, but EVERYONE has the problem of managing accounts and such. So no….umm……changing passwords and other stuff(like it says).

Thanks so much everything Sony!!! I’m not changing to Xbox like other nutheads here. I can’t wait for the Playstation Store to be back up so I can get my two free games!!! Also, I’ve heard rumors that we would get 50$ in our account. Is this true??

@803 no, that is not true. PS3 owners get 2 PS3 games, PSP owners get 2 PSP games. No store credit, but a month of PlayStation Plus (or 2 months if you were an existing PlayStation Plus member). Hopefully since I own both PS3 and PSP I’ll get 4 free games. :D

im sorry but im starting to get really upset because i bought DC Universe online the day the outage happened not knowing that it was going to happen obviously so when the network finally came on i was really excited because i was finally going to be able to play DCUO but i still had to redeem a code which meant that i needed the playstation store up but all of the people with still get to play so is there anyway to play the game right now with store still being down?

I have to admit that Sony has dropped the ball on the PR side of the issue. I understand that it isn’t their fault they got hacked, but they had a week to make it clear that they would not have the store up today. Their lack of comment either means they are incredibly stupid when it comes to dealing with the public, or they actually thought they could get it up, but realized last night/this morning that they wouldn’t make it. If they knew it would be impossible, they should have squashed it immediately on the blog and site. My life isn’t going to end because it’s not up today; I figured there was a good chance they wouldn’t have it up because they never said one way or another. It would have been nice, however, since the network went down right after I got wireless and so didn’t have to drag my PS3 to my friend’s house to use cable. Talk about luck!

I have been patient with all the network issues and update after update after update after update, and still no resolution to major problems, like the PS STORE, come on its been awhile now, i purposely bought a psp 3000 so i can download FF VII (saw it on PSONE classics), and i cant even do that, seriously, does SONY really want our buisness? its been such a dissapointment to me, because as innovative as SONY is, these are the problems that are going to bring them down? NETWORK ISSUES….come on…anyhow im just as frustrated as anyone is….COME ON SONY, STEP UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@dsafdsa Well said in your paragraph long comment. Sony is working their A-WORD off to recuperate from this whole intrusion WHILE giving us free stuff that loses THEM money. SOME people are probably just so conceited that they only care about, “I WANT MY (d-word) PSN STORE SO I CAN DOWNLOAD (insert thing for download here)” or “Big whoop, I just wanna play my games”. How about just do something else instead of complain about it here? Hang out with your friends, drive somewhere(if you’re old enough), even go to the store and buy something if you wish, but some comments I read are just ridiculous. And if some of you people wanna go play Xbox360 b/c you’ve lost your faith in Sony, then go ahead, start trolling on there.
P.S. To make sure other people don’t start raging on me, this comment I typed up is for people like me who don’t really download many free stuff except for once in a while and just plays online with friends. For others of you who are up on the “What’s New?” deal, then try and wait. Patience is a virtue. I understand Sony has been taking quite a while to get their systems up and running, but please try and see the good that they’re trying to do.

Then they say well be up in a few days…. 20 something days pass…. Yay sony! Keep up the good work we love u… Then they fail to surpress rumors about the psn store being online on the 24th… by the way credible news agencies reported this but no response from sony. Hey guys! I believe the maintenance it’s over, however I’m having trouble acessing account management! I’m from Portugal, so shouldn’t it be all normal past 00:00?
Well from my experience today..dont call sony and ask any questions..on the phone for 22 minutes and all they could tell me was they didnt have any answers to anything, please hold for 1-2 minutes while I connect you to a different department who knows nothing about anything either. Seriously, the worst thing about this PSNgate is the total lack of communication. I still like my ps3 and dont care much for the box..but enough is enough. Hard to trust Sony after this nightmare.
