PlayStation Network is scheduled to undergo maintenance today, from about 8am until approximately 5pm Pacific time. During this time, registration and Account Management will be inaccessible, including the password reset process. While some users may experience difficulty signing in to PSN, the majority of consumers will be able to play online as well as sign in to external sites that require PSN authentication (like this one).
For those asking about the PlayStation Store, we’re still targeting restoration of all services by the end of this month. Contrary to reports, the Store will not be publishing today.

Sony is probably removing 90% of the PSN+ games and themes that way we are limited when PS store gets restored. Sony needs to get bankrupt immediately. I’m glad you lost $170 million but I am not satisfied.

excuse me i am 28 i have been a gamer since the 80s. Before you start saying crap maybe you should think before you say. I have bought everything with my own money for the past twelve years. I unlike kids these days know about work. DONT GET YOUR FRIGGIN PANTIES IN A BUNCH JUST CAUSE YOU CANT BUY ANYTHING AT THE MOMENT. You guys are complaining about the store not being up yet, think about it, you guys complain when you heard your personal info might have been stolen, but still want an untested and not totally secure ps store up…??? WTF?? Give Sony a break, they are looking after you not trying to hurt you, albeit the fact they should have stopped the May 24th rumors, but just like the rapture, you cant believe everything you hear…

I just think it’s funny. I remember having the Commodore 64, come on some of you, you remember playing Star trek on that. Hell I thought I was the bomb for getting the Atari 2600 before any of my friends. Got to love Pac-Man and Q-Bert. could some of you older people imagine if we were able to have hooked up the Atari to the internet. Waiting 10 mins for a dial up connection and losing it the moment it connected because Grandma decided to call for the 100th time that day. Most of us have gone 20+ years without playing a game online, I think we could do a month or too with no problem, or do they not sell Playboys anymore.

Thank you Sony for the update. I can’t believe that there are people out there that still believe in rumors! Haven’t you all learned by now that if it isn’t from Sony than it probably isn’t true!! They are working their tales off to get everything up and running and keeping your info as safe and secure as possible!! Have patience as I am sure they will make sure you will be able to get the things you need for your games. They are not in the market to rip you off! If anything it was the hackers who were the ones that want to rip off as much as possible. They are the ones out there trying to destroy the world of gaming and anything else they can. They go after whatever they can and try to get away with it. I just hope all of you that are complaining have good security when you are on the internet, because it just doesn’t happen to big Corp., but to the little guy as well. Even Banks, Government, Credit Card Companies, Major Stores to name a few. There are probably a lot more that we don’t even hear about. So quit acting like a bunch of whiners and learn a little patience, as I have said in the past PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE so learn from it and you might just be rewarded in the future!!!!
Anyone else find it redundant that Sony is saying the “Network” is going to be down for maintainence for three hourse starting at whatever time, knowing when you click on the store or come to the website it’s been saying under maintainence for a month

People need to read what you have wrote, before saying things like, when is the coming back up?! people the store will be back soon, stop making Sony have to read all your complaints about the store, It is only slowing down the possess of lunching it back up!

Yeah we do it’s the “Pot Smoking Store” because you gave to be on drugs not to complain that Sony took away the the backwards play functionality so that you coulkdnt buy and old game for 1 or 2 bucks so you have to pay them anywheres from 5 – 20 bucks for it

Its not really favortism, they are updating everyone at the same time, just because they start updating when the workday begins here in North America, does not mean they are favrvoing us, its becaues where sonys servers are that hold the Playstation Network for EU and NA the workday starts in PCT time. So they are updating the EU and NA at the same time. The servers just happen to be in NA, so they update durring the north american work ay, just letting you know cause some people dont seem to realize this, by complaining that sony is showing favortism to NA cause were getting updated later than we are, but in all actuality ITS THE SAME TIME! So sorry EU your just gonna have to grin and bear it :

@ Bubaroo actually Sony has stated ” BY MAY 31 st ” since they first announced the rebuild process .it has been only through your own and other’s selective memory that any other date was construed . They could have left online play off untill the store was back up , but rather got online play up and running , meanwhile their income stream is disabled as they rebuild it SO THAT WE CAN ENJOY SECURE TRANSACTIONS .
I already pay for Plus. and if it meant a better network that doesn’t glitch on everygame you play on-line, I would welcome it. They owe us for buying their machine and their games. You can’t have a business without constumers. If we didn’t buy their stuff, they wouldn’t have a company. And once again, not everyone wants to play black ops for the next two months

@EVERYONE ELSE- stop begging, the only reason you’re all so desperate to have the store back up is because you want something for free. If you think about it Sony doesn’t owe us anything. We don’t pay for online services like Xbox Live, and that doesn’t mean paying for Playstation Plus counts; you don’t need Plus to play online, it’s just a premium service that you pay to get discounts, early demo and beta access, and the occasional “free” item. The fact that you all keep begging Sony to put the store back up, despite being told that all service’s would be back online by May 31st just shows how greedy you all are. You should be happy simply having the network up in the first place. By all means Sony could have waited till May 31st and brought both the network and store back at the same time.
