PlayStation Network is scheduled to undergo maintenance today, from about 8am until approximately 5pm Pacific time. During this time, registration and Account Management will be inaccessible, including the password reset process. While some users may experience difficulty signing in to PSN, the majority of consumers will be able to play online as well as sign in to external sites that require PSN authentication (like this one).
For those asking about the PlayStation Store, we’re still targeting restoration of all services by the end of this month. Contrary to reports, the Store will not be publishing today.

They aren’t going to put the store up a day before May 31st. If it even goes up on the 31st. This is ridiculous, they should spend less time worrying about the stupid Welcome Back Program, and more time focusing on getting the store up with all the content we’ve missed in one update. Besides what good is a Welcome Back Package if we have been playing online for 4 weeks. The Welcome Back Package is too little too late at this point. Screw the Welcome Back Package and just get the store up!

I guarantee when the PS Store is published again, there will be so many problems with it that it won’t even be able to function.
@633 I agree in a way. What I see happening is as soon as the store is brought back up, everyone seeking their free stuff from the now useless Welcome Back Package. There will be so many people trying to access this content at once that the store will be shut down due to excessive amounts of traffic.
Such a bummer has this downtime been. I’m at least grateful PSN was restored and I’m able to play online.
One is the loneliest number. Sony, you’ll be a “one” if you don’t get PS Store restored soon :P

I see the welcome back package as a marketing scheme to win people over. It has worked for some people but I could care less about it. I just want use the PSN cards I received has gifts. I wish I could take them back and just buy a disc based game but I cant. I feel really bad for PSPGO owners.
@634 What makes it even worse is I never cared about the free games. My concern is with the expansions and dlc I’m still missing. When the store comes back, if it does, they’re saying I’ll still have to wait beings as they aren’t releasing everything at once. Seems like those that spend the money on Sony (the ones that want the store for more then free games) are being put second to those that only wanted to be able to play online for free. And they’re the ones telling everyone to calm down. They got what they want, when do I get what I want?
@636 Exactly it’s a marketing scheme. I’ve never been interested in the Welcome Back Package, even before it was announced all the stuff they are giving away. All I wanted was the network up, and the store open. Sony doesn’t owe me anything free for the outage, I just want the ability to download and play Back to the Future Episode 3, a game which I have already paid for but is only released through the store, and was suppose to be released on May 3rd. I would also like to buy, and play the new Fallout DLC sometime before the next Fallout DLC is set to come out, in June.

@639 It took my Dead money and Black Ops expansions. Don’t know why. I wasn’t into the Back to the Future like 638, but it would still be nice to get what I paid for, and while I haven’t bought Honest Hearts yet, I did buy a card so I could. Now, though, I’m kind of wishing I bought Fallout for my PC.
I want games that were on the store before the crash….so I could care less about updates I just want the store up

I feel ya man, and am in the same boat. Fortunately, we have a game to play. I feel real bad for the people with codes to redeem for Mortal Kombat, DC Universe & Portal 2. I wish we all could at least just redeem our codes that came with our retail purchased games. There must be a logical reason why Sony can’t give us at least that functionality. Sigh… one week remaining… hopefully. Just make things awesome for us Sony. Not so awesome lately…
