PlayStation Network is scheduled to undergo maintenance today, from about 8am until approximately 5pm Pacific time. During this time, registration and Account Management will be inaccessible, including the password reset process. While some users may experience difficulty signing in to PSN, the majority of consumers will be able to play online as well as sign in to external sites that require PSN authentication (like this one).
For those asking about the PlayStation Store, we’re still targeting restoration of all services by the end of this month. Contrary to reports, the Store will not be publishing today.

@550 Its out ive heard good things about it but you really need to download the DLC to play the whole game right other then that it looks good i was thinking about renting today.
+ Bridgetn88- once again, another person who wants to complain about something that has been mentioned several times over the past few weeks. Sony never promised the store would be up by May 24th, in fact the only date given was when Sony said they hope to have all services back up by May 31st. Not once has anybody at Sony said the store would be up on May 24th. Check your facts before u post.

It was a rumor that someone told someone that told another person who then in turn sent a e-mail to a gamesite that was not SONY and said that it would be up today. SONY said it will be up by the end of this month and that if they were going to put it up early that they would post on THERE blog not someone elses. There’s alot of rumors going around they cant stop them all and why would they. Its just dumb to think that.
That’s just it. Why would dispel the rumors for today? How many people have posted that they went out and bought games or network cards just because they thought the rumors were true. I still don’t believe them when they say the end of the month however as it’s targeted and not confirmed. .

@564 It’s a joint effort. Public Relations is there to support the IT’s. Can’t find any other use for them. Thier job certainly isn’t talking to the customers.
Companys do smash rumors i think SONY is just trying to get everything back up and they just dont have time to crush every rumor that goes around i mean think about it if if everyday someone was to post a rumor about you that was not true how long would it take you to just stop answering everyone of them i know that N4G posts like every 3 to 4 mins about playstation how are they going to keep up with that?

Okay……..Now there going to be more Maintenance. seriecly im lossing my spirt in video game,why because i dont want to be a fan of xbox and nitendo is…..well it not as good as A PS3.So that leaves me on Playstation…..and I LOVE IT but if it fails to be AWSOME then i dont know what video game company i should keep my confedents on.

Its not I don’t love my Playstation. I’ve been a fan since the original. I even spent $600 to by the PS3 the day it came out. I’ve spent countless time and money supporting Sony, as have others. I’ve defended Sony since the XBOX 360, as have others. I already pay for the Plus, a subscription to play online wouldn’t be that bad, even thought I don’t usually play online. At least if we had to pay, they’d have to have it working better then it is. No joke, the only thing that keeps me away from the XBOX is thier crappy exclusives. Would much rather play Resistance to Halo.
I am 30 years old. I have a Master degree in IT. I pay for plus so I do pay for an online service they offer. You must not know anything about business because if McDonald messed up your order you would be mad.
