Leo Tolstoy once said, “The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.” Ask any PlayStation gamer who missed out on the Call of Duty: Black Ops double XP weekend a few weeks ago, and they’ll tell you: Leo knew what he was talking about. While other platforms soaked up the extra experience points, PS3 gamers had to hang in there while PlayStation put everything in order behind the scenes. In cases like that, patience isn’t a virtue — patience is a pain in the butt.

As the double-XP date loomed nearer, more and more PlayStation gamers wondered if they’d be able to take part in the festivities, and Treyarch – developer of Black Ops – swore to fans that they would not be forgotten. This weekend, they’re quickly making good on that promise, with a double-XP period that lasts from this Friday, May 20th at 10am all the way through the weekend and beyond – the good stuff keeps coming until 10am on Tuesday the 24th. What’s more, that’s going to be even sweeter thanks to a Nuketown 24/7 playlist that’s being added just for the event. Nuketown is my favorite map because it’s small and chaotic – and the close confines often result in high kill counts, which can really push you to the next level of Prestige in a hurry during a bonus XP weekend. It’s a fast, intense map – but don’t let that stop you from uncovering some of Nuketown’s hidden secrets.

So if the two most powerful warriors are patience and time…well, you’ve been patient, and it took some time. This weekend, enjoy being the warrior.

    i like the whole idea of having nuke town 24/7, but i would rather you choose the playlist of nuke town, then choose the game mode, because i want to play team deathmatch, but instead you have to vote!

    Can someone help us here? We can’t get to main screen on black ops PS3.
    Other games will work this PS3, disk WILL work on OTHER PS3, but same black ops disk will not load on this PS3.

    About time we get things back in motion for a little I was gonna get rid of my ps3 but u guys kept me going with the updates still . Waiting for welcome package. But hey black ops is the best to you who don’t already know

    @brettzilla97 I heard that the Black Ops Map Pack will be out for PS3 some time around June 3rd. I can’t wait for the Zombies map. I just wish for once Treyarch would release something for us first instead of shooting it towards Xbox players.

    I am from Brazil. Here, we have very big number of players that cannot play in the Playstation Network more because, when we enter in a link of the e-mail that was sent, appear that it isn’t for us region. Please, my friends are very sad of this.

    is it just me or is the nuketown 24/7 a dissapointment, i play hardcore and would like to enjoy the same benifits as the core players. other than that thanks for the double exp weekend.

    haha! I got dirt 3 today soo i gotta play that a little and then go back to black ops!
    I got it early beacause there was a lady that were sitting in the chaire where you pay! and they can’t put it out in the store but she didn’t know thar beacause she a lady! haha.
