Leo Tolstoy once said, “The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.” Ask any PlayStation gamer who missed out on the Call of Duty: Black Ops double XP weekend a few weeks ago, and they’ll tell you: Leo knew what he was talking about. While other platforms soaked up the extra experience points, PS3 gamers had to hang in there while PlayStation put everything in order behind the scenes. In cases like that, patience isn’t a virtue — patience is a pain in the butt.
As the double-XP date loomed nearer, more and more PlayStation gamers wondered if they’d be able to take part in the festivities, and Treyarch – developer of Black Ops – swore to fans that they would not be forgotten. This weekend, they’re quickly making good on that promise, with a double-XP period that lasts from this Friday, May 20th at 10am all the way through the weekend and beyond – the good stuff keeps coming until 10am on Tuesday the 24th. What’s more, that’s going to be even sweeter thanks to a Nuketown 24/7 playlist that’s being added just for the event. Nuketown is my favorite map because it’s small and chaotic – and the close confines often result in high kill counts, which can really push you to the next level of Prestige in a hurry during a bonus XP weekend. It’s a fast, intense map – but don’t let that stop you from uncovering some of Nuketown’s hidden secrets.
So if the two most powerful warriors are patience and time…well, you’ve been patient, and it took some time. This weekend, enjoy being the warrior.

everyone crying that its not double xp yet go get a tissue and quit crying, keep playing online cause you can, or go do something. Oh booo whoooo boo whooo there are different time zones. Sony didn’t say 10 am Friday in this time sone (and that kinda sucks but oh well) and it doesn’t say anywhere on Call of Duty’s web site about our double xp weekend. So just be patient if you can wait a month to play online, you can wait a couple of hours.

wow COD black ops has double XP and gets a whole blog post on it wow again. Killzone 3 double XP this weekend. The world really is coming to an end tomorrow? I suspect the people who though of the Y2K problem are behind it.
my opinion black. ops is the best online multiplayer game out there…. i like all the call of duty games.. but i like this one the most.. because when im playing mw2 to many campers on. and on this if you want to get a chopper gunner or dogs.. you got to go get the kills. cuz there arent gonna come to you.. there less people who camps in black ops.. and for all those who hate blacks.. you probably hate cuz you suck! at it.. end of the story. so stop posting negative comments.. thank you playstation and dan

Hey, Dan. I have a question here. I just recently bought a new ps3 and im playing on this one now. I bought first strike on the other ps3 and I want it back on this one. If I were to go to the store (when its back up) and go to first strike, would I Have to buy it again? :/

the reason i hate black ops and all cod games for that matter is because of all the cheating.i dont suck at any game but when there are numerous hacked lobbies u cant do good.i dont know of how many times i played cod and i couldnt get a kill to save my life trying my hardest and thats because of the hacked lobbies in that series that cheaters setup that allow them to autofire and everything else illegal so that they will not die.bottom line junk series or a cheater series anyway you wanna look at it.

@ mojo2029 Yes, I agree that nuketown 24/7 would be great to have all the time.. but then it’d be too easy to level up since you’re getting so much xp, and there would really be no point to double xp weekend.
@ videogamer_531 Though I agree hacked lobbies are a pain,you will get hacking and cheating on any game.
@standswithafist You can get to Nuketown 24/7 by going to the game mode list. example – Team deathmatch, demolition, search and destroy, ect. It will be at the very bottom.

Still doesn’t change the fact that BO is a sub-par FPS with boring mechanics and outdated gameplay. Anybody that chooses to play this steaming turd over Killzone 3 has serious mental deficiencies.
I’ll be playing Killzone 3 this weekend, as its a FAR SUPERIOR game, and Guerilla is kind enough to give us double XP. I’ll also delete anybody on my friends list that chooses to take part in Treyarch’s sad, pathetic reactionary attempt to garner weak-minded gamers.
Although, in a way I should be thanking them. This means that all the dumber console players that I hate so much will be playing in their own element, with other 12 year olds in CoD, so the Killzone servers with be packed with intelligent, teamwork oriented people, making a phenomenal game even better by distracting the riff-raff.
Or…maybe you could play both, if both interest you. A lot of players do that — they get more than one game and they play whichever one interests them at any given time.
Enjoy Killzone 3’s double XP as well, but don’t let a Black Ops event threaten you this weekend. You have your plans set, but you seem be to lashing out for no real reason.
