We temporarily took down the PSN and Qriocity password reset page. Contrary to some reports, there was no hack involved. In the process of resetting of passwords there was a URL exploit that we have subsequently fixed.
Consumers who haven’t reset their passwords for PSN are still encouraged to do so directly on their PS3. Otherwise, they can continue to do so via the website as soon as we bring that site back up.
I would just like to known when Sony may actually consider using servers in different countries to prevent every one from having to loose out do so specifics of one area being hit? At this point I’m leaning on thinking it may take til the end of the month before its completely resolved and running ‘everywhere’. I think they should switch to a point system to resolve billing issues and eliminate the personal credit information so if someone wants to run private apps for games they can without interference (not saying I do or play that much).

Not lonely really . I have both. I’d rather pay the 10 bucks for added security and earlier content. I have both systems. Just you ppl still don’t get it that Sony does not care about you customers. Microsft offers a standard 3 year replacement on broken units. What does Sony offer? A crappy 1 year. BS .

I just found out that someone used my information for an iTunes purchase of $100 yesterday. They got the information from this cyber attack on your network. We havent gotten any information in regards to further protection or prevention that you promised your dedicated users. I am having to handle this matter on my own without the assistance and assurance of the PSN team. Please advise because the financial attacks are real and, so far, am disappointed by lack of response to ensure your users are safe.
Im just wondering when the playstation store will be up and runnning in the U.S. , ive been sitting on a $50 ps store card since my birthday in april.i like how the psn network restoration updates went dead in the water after online gaming came back on.you have all the time in the world to post comments about upcoming games and other things to talk about that bring in revenue but no info on restoration in days.just wonderin’
not to mention the list of ‘free’ games that the welcome back package includes is frankly pretty sad.i have either owned or had no interest in every game for the exception of infamous which would propably be the only thing id download.if yuo were going to throw us $40-$50 of greatest hits tities of the yesteryears i personally think you shoulda cut the bs and gave your loyale and patient members a choice between a year of plus or $40-50 credit.i mean honestly i know im not the only one out there that thinks the ‘welcome back’ package IS a little lackluster in the ‘were sorry’ department of freebies.just sayin’

i’m glad i can finally restore my account, i’ve been wanting to tell all who complain in regards to the network store, to just chill, just wait. Theres leaked info from multiple websites stating that, May 24th is the day, however it’s been mention in this blog and no one seems so deny nor confirm that. but still if your not happy with gamimg online and the other features available, the find something else to do in four remaining days…i’m with sony all the way…!!! oh and who knows how to change the diplay name?

I have been a playstation fan from it first days, I used to test games for the original playstation.I have since then bought Sony products.however this has shaken me to my core, I still can not log into the psn store,and there feels like there is no hope in sight.I have begun to question if I’ll buy more Sony products. And frankly it hurts.I love my playstation and the sooner this situation is resolved the better.xbox is no playstation by far

The RROD is not fixed I know lots of people who still have the RROD pop up the night they buy them. I also know people who have sent their 360 in to have it fixed got it back and guess what RROD hours later. If sony didn’t care about the consumer they wouldn’t have rebuilt the servers and wouldn’t be giving free stuff to the consumers who sufferred the 3 week outage.
what did the x-box live community get besides 2 weeks time from the hack in 2007 at christmas of all things? Answer absolutely nothing.
What is sony giving away for 3 weeks down time? 2 free games from a list depending on the system you use, a 1 million dollar identity theft protection program, free 30 days ps+ membership. And this is when we don’t pay for the service in the first place.
That being said if you ask me i’d say you don’t realize which company cares more about it’s customers as microsoft doesn’t give anything back for a service you pay for and sony is giving plenty of free [DELETED] to people who simply bought the system and created an account to play online. No price tag or yearly subscription is required. So if you want to get rid of your PS3 ship it to me and i’ll take your free stuff.

I’ve read this blog and the threads concerning this whole situation.. I’m thankful that online gaming is finally back, that’s seemed to make 90% of everyone who’s posted happy. I’m also really happy with the Welcome Back package because unlike most of you, seemingly, I never got Infamous or Dead Nation.
However, this PS Store thing is another issue. I have the well-documented Back To The Future game and Mortal Kombat issues.
I’m not someone who thinks the store needs to be up 5 minutes ago. My frustration comes from the total lack of *PSN Store updates* from Sony. Sorry, I refuse to take anyone else’s word on this, other sites and “news sources” have been far more wrong than right.
Bottom line, Sony needs to provide at least ONE update on the Store, and the Store alone. That way people like me who just want to know “When..?” have somewhere to have a voice, and all those who aren’t worried about it too terrible much can just ignore the comments section of the update.

I just wanted to share my personal experience between xbox 360 and playstation 3. I have owned 2 different xbox 360’s, the newest version with the kinect and the original white xbox 360. Both of them had problems 24/7 and i bought them both brand new. Within 2 months, both of them broke!! One red ringed, and the other one, the harddrive that is built in completely crashed! I have had a PS3 for 6 months now, and i have not had one problem! So for me, the best system i have ever owned is this ps3. Hands down. Xbox ripped me off for about 500 dollars. PS3 FOREVER!!!!!!!
Ok, i hate Xbox as much as the next guy, but they weren’t hacked a couple of years ago. They had down time around christmas because of an influx of new members signing up and logging in. Their system couldn’t handle it. Just cant handle people spreading false information.

It is clear to me, the store was the entry point of the hack. Its the most logical time to attack; opening for the transactions. They are sitting around pooting and bubble guts wondering if it’s real, real resolved. Some of my friends accounts didnt work yet, I mean they’ve received a reset password email but when they click on the website it says ” Under maintenance :\ ” !!
Ok, this is getting ridiculous. There has been absolutely NO WORD AT ALL ABOUT WHEN THE STORE IS GOING TO BE UP. HOW IN THE FRICK CAN YOU MAKE MONEY OFF US SONY IF YOU CAN’T GET YOUR STORE UP AND RUNNING!!!!!!!!! You like making money don’t you? At least give us an update of your progress at least.

i sent playstation a e-mail and its been four days and yet they still haven’t replied. on the website it says that sony should reply in 1-2 days…. ITS BEEN 4. oh and when is the ps store going to be up? sony still hasn’t put up a date. they should at least blog about when they think it should be up. i mean like c’mon.
I can’t log in with my new email??? Or my old email for that matter. However I can login on a computer just not the playstaion. It says I cannot sign in with another users email ! Annoyed sick of it. Its my email and its never been used on the psn. Any tips ???

its understood and appreciated that online services are restored (for most should i say) but most of it is no good without the store new map packs downloadable content and a large list of other things needed to fully enjoy the games we have purchased all we ask is at least let us know when we could be possibly expecting the store to be back ……… this welcome back packadge is looking to be more like a f#@% you packadge
