We temporarily took down the PSN and Qriocity password reset page. Contrary to some reports, there was no hack involved. In the process of resetting of passwords there was a URL exploit that we have subsequently fixed.
Consumers who haven’t reset their passwords for PSN are still encouraged to do so directly on their PS3. Otherwise, they can continue to do so via the website as soon as we bring that site back up.

im hearing the store is up may 24
my friend says he got the email but he still can’t access the site to change his password, when he clicked the link to change the password it said the site was under maintenance. WTH, How long will it be until the site is up and I can play with my friends who didn’t change their password right away.
I was pretty sure it wasn’t some extreme hack haha.
thanks for the info. but i dont beleive it unless its coming from sony… why would they leave us in the darks so long if there really was a date planned next week… before the psn came back online i heard lots of things like it wouldnt be back online until may 31 those were all lies from unreliable sources… at least if sony says it then there is a real timeline even if they dont make it in time, next time before they promise all this extra free crap they get there prioritys straight and release the content that is due weeks ago… games release with redeemable codes that cannot be used without a store access this is false advertising if its unavailable.. all the paying customers that heavly support the system get screwed because they just give the games for free that they already paid top dollar for when they were released… if they want to make it up us they could give us something that nobody has on the ps3 like a new feature or ps2 backwards compatibily, they cant say it does everything if they take features away they should be adding and make it do more so people want to be a proud ps3 owner not a hacked peice of crap
plus the WSJ confirmed today that the site was taken down because of an URL exploit hack which could allow someone to gain access to the account, change the password, and use any funds that were already on the account. They couldn’t see or have access to the credit card information, but still, after what happened on April 20th, and the website is having a somewhat simple “URL” trick to fake the system out #FAIL

I dont think everything will be back up by then im just posting what i heard im happy with just online gaming i do have $200 i need to spend on there though so im hopefull i dont care anymore

This may be a little off topic but since the servers are down again I can’t get into the forums. Anybody else got the Hulu Plus and Vudu under Whats new when you start up the ps3? They show up but won’t do anything. Was thining of trying them out but click on them and nothing happens. Everything else in the list works .
Check that. Netflix won’t do anything either. I guess It’s probably cause I’m trying start the trial period (just got the ps3 before the shutdown) and with the servers down it won’t work.
So if the store is up May, 24th can anyone show me some proof of that. Like an official word from Sony and not some rumor that someone just posted?
Come on playstation bring the psn store back up.

I’ve forgotten how many days we’re into this whole password reset mess but I know that I have been waiting since Sunday early morning to reset my last account. First, I had to wait for an email that was well over the 24 hours suggested wait time. Then I had to wait for yet another 36 hours before anyone would acknowledge the log in site was fouled up.
COULD SOMEONE PLEASE UPDATE THIS BLOG?
I mean really, could ya just let us know you’re still working on it or something? I’m seeing a horrible pattern continue because there is a massive lack of feedback. I still have not seen if I need to request another email or if one will be sent to me when the log in site is back up. I would think because my link is over 24 hours it has expired and I will need another one to try to log in again. More information please………
@567 it’s just posted on sites like digitalspy.com basically take it with a grain of salt when will psn be up you ask well it’ll be up when it’s up would you rather seem them post every few hours with an update or just work on it an post when it’s done.

Let me get this straight.I SUPPOSEDLY can’t access my downloads on my account.So how is it that I logged on with my PSP and had access to my downloads and my account.I downloaded to my PSP.
To all those who tell people to get a life, go outside, get a girlfriend/boyfriend, you need to think before opening your mouths. While i agree that it is sad that people may spend every waking minuted re-posting the same questions about the store and what not i feel that commenting like this is just ignorant. How do you know that the person your replying to may not be someone who is sitting by all day waiting. I am married and have 4 kids and i am eager to get the store up as i use that more than actually gaming online however i don’t sit on here a ll day. Like me alot of people posting have lives outside of the gaming community. We take our kids to the park and spend time with our wives. How about you? Again i say think before opening your mouths.

Hey SONY I just wanted to let you know that the week i switched from xbox to ps3 you got shut down. So far I am horribly dissapointed in your networking skills, and now see that although xbox live costs money, you get what you pay for obviously. Now I am stuck with this ps3 crap so atleast get store back up so I can download my damn hulu. On a side not your hardware skills are fantastic, but hardware is pointless without good software!

no problems here, i have been playin all day today. finally taking a break from black ops, lol…….@Icy_cold_killer, if you remember, xbox has been down a few times in the past, sony’s networking skills are just as good as microsoft, at least sony is taking the time to get everything right, unlike microsoft, they want to rush to get things going and end up having a whole lot of problems
