Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.
Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. We’ll be updating the map below as service comes online in individual states. It will take several hours to restore PSN throughout the entire country, so please keep checking back for the latest updates. In the meantime, now’s a great time to get your PS3’s firmware updated, which is required to get online.
Notice: If your state is illuminated but your service has not yet been restored, please be patient – it can take a little while for the servers to populate fully.
Until we get the comments functioning correctly, we’re putting all comments on hold. I’m sure Jitender would appreciate not having people put words in his mouth ^_^
In the meantime, we’ll keep updating the map, and those of you already back online – enjoy some games!

IF YOU’RE TRYING TO REDEEM A CODE AND YOU CANT BECAUSE STORE DOESNT WORK I FOUND THE SOLUTION. GO TO THE PLAYSTATION STORE WEBSITE. LOGIN, GO TO ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT AND YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO REDEEM A CODE :).

it might work for network cards to put money on but it doens’t work for game voucher cards already tried with my MK Kombat code
cancel that it did work for MK it just didn’t work for AC sorry about that
but you can’t really download the content until the store is back up

For Sony’s sake, I hope the rumored pending attack is unsuccessful or a rumor altogether. If it happens again, I’m uncertain as to whether or not they will survive.
However, one would think that a corporation of their size can prepare for such a thing.
Is there a way to play Mortal Kombat online or do I need to wait for the PSN Store to be back up to redeem my code?

Yayz I’ve had the PSN online for 2 days and I’ve only been offline once at like 8 pm yesterday but it was only for a few minutes so I’m happy!

I am wondering why a indivividual with the name HawnKeez a racist term directed at whites is allowed to post on your site at all? Yes its spelled different but it’s obvious what the intent is. You need to grow up it’s only gaming . The ps 3 plays single games real well. When it comes to it will be another couple of days. It’s a complicated proplom fixing then checking the security of the fix. It is a long drawn out process . So Sony gave a estimate that’s all it was. There’s no pleasing any of you. So I say to Sony fix it take what time it takes so that it want be hacked again.
