Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.
Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. We’ll be updating the map below as service comes online in individual states. It will take several hours to restore PSN throughout the entire country, so please keep checking back for the latest updates. In the meantime, now’s a great time to get your PS3’s firmware updated, which is required to get online.
Notice: If your state is illuminated but your service has not yet been restored, please be patient – it can take a little while for the servers to populate fully.
Until we get the comments functioning correctly, we’re putting all comments on hold. I’m sure Jitender would appreciate not having people put words in his mouth ^_^
In the meantime, we’ll keep updating the map, and those of you already back online – enjoy some games!

All i have to say is i am simply appalled by the haters reactions to the repair time of psn. I’ll bet the ones who are hating are the broke wannabies who dont have any money nor bank acct. to be directly affected! therefore if this sounds like you….. shut up and go get a job !!!! then you can put in your cheap lil two cents that no one cares to hear about… PSN thank you for taking all the time in the world to do things correctly the first time around so that this doesnt happen again and maybe even become worse of a problem next time!!! our family and friends are very happy to have you back online again !! thanks again psn
When i try to add a 20$ card it keeps telling me “this cards exceeds the maximum limit” but yet its only 20$ card

That took a while, but I am glad it’s back up. I wasn’t too happy about my personal data getting stolen, but what’s done is done. Thank you sony for your quick work in restoring the system, may it never come under attack again.

I appreciate knowing that you guys could have just gave up entirely and didnt so ty. i put monday the 9th that psn couldn’t get up by the 12th wed but they accepted my challenge and got it up 2days latter but they still got it up…good job 4 now lets see if the welcome back is good
I don’t even play PSN online as I’m an Xbox player in that regard. However, I have two PSN cards that I want to redeem and grab Dino Crisis 2 and some other stuff, but of course, I still can’t do that. :(

Well during the outage I tried my hardest to give you folks at SONY all the info I had on the hacker who was the main person to cause the outage but YOU WOULDNT LISTEN TO ME. I called and your legal guy MIKE HUNG UP ON ME. I am calling again Monday, I wish to speak to Patrick Seybold and I will because I have his direct number.
Im glad the psn is up, for the FIRST TIME EVER MY TROPHIES SYNCED UP, FIRST TIME EVER, which is pretty sad. Network seems nice and fast, home loaded in no time flat.(better than 15min wait) so when are we getting full backwards compatibility because everyone would like that more than anything else you could really offer us. As for the store, take your time.

How about after three weeks of waiting you provide us with features that would enhance our experience on PSN, features like cross game chat. How about an update on features that xbox live has had for 6 years. ” it only does everything” it just cant do cross game chat and party features.
the reason why there still are people unhappy is because they cant play their game online

I’ve only had my PS3 since christmas, but i love it! So good luck with everything else that needs to be done to get the PSN back to what it used to be. Scratch that even better than it used to be :)
