Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.
Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. We’ll be updating the map below as service comes online in individual states. It will take several hours to restore PSN throughout the entire country, so please keep checking back for the latest updates. In the meantime, now’s a great time to get your PS3’s firmware updated, which is required to get online.
Notice: If your state is illuminated but your service has not yet been restored, please be patient – it can take a little while for the servers to populate fully.
Until we get the comments functioning correctly, we’re putting all comments on hold. I’m sure Jitender would appreciate not having people put words in his mouth ^_^
In the meantime, we’ll keep updating the map, and those of you already back online – enjoy some games!

i have a question:before the psn network went down i was playing nhl 11 in which i purchased brand new,i clicked the week free of online access and liked it so i punched in my code in which i received with the game…well tonight i was overjoyed to find out psn was back online but when i tried to play nhl it said my week had expired and i need to redeem my code! but when making an attempt to redeem code the store is still under construction in which i already knew…so my question is…is there any way to redeem code without the psn store…i been waiting soo long to play with my nhl pro and if someone can help i’d deeply appreciate it…AND QUESTION FOR THE WONDERFUL TEAM AT SONY…DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHEN WE WILL BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE STORE? I’m getting error code (443) for Demon’s Souls (cannot connect to online). Anyone else? Someone on gamespot said to restart the PS3, tried that. It’s still doing it. They also mentioned that it could be because of the update. and to format the system ??? If I do that, then what’s the point of the update, right? pls, help…
@HawnKeez There has been no confirmed account of CC information being taken. It’s only a possibility.
Now the XBOX however has had confirmed accounts of CC info being taken from Xbox live in 2007.
Therefore the Sony did not neglect their security system, and had it under control once they noticed the intrusion.

Now that this debacle is over with, it’s time to be realistic with this. All this has shown to us gamers is that we need to stop treating our video gaming systems as more than just a machine. These corporations aren’t here for us best interests, there’s no such thing has loyalty in the same regards as friendship with them. My faith in this corporation has been destroyed and it’s going to take a lot to get me back into supporting their products as a whole.
Never again will I put a CC on my account. DCU Online will be cancelled. In fact what happens to people like myself who paid for the Legendary Plan and it’s way past the end date? All I know is that when this stuff went down my 360 was looking rather appealing and now has become my main system for gaming.
Ok so where is these supposed email codes for AllClear ID PLUS??? We should have got those at least a week ago….

I agree with (HawnKeez) on everything stated from his comments and i would like to say:
I am one of the people that switch from Microsoft to Sony, i made my choice with Playstation because of a friends recommendation cause he has sony everything in his apartment (not exaggerating, litterally every electronic devices he owns is most likely a Sony). He would laugh at my issues and would always tell me “Sony knows better man, when i are you going to accept it!”. I think at least Xbox hit individuals one at a time with their issues when Sony staright out hurt everyone that chose to go with their company (and im sure they made more money from people switching from xbox to Sony just like me, it wasn’t just a few of us). I will remember this when they release a new console, maybe in time i will feel different as this is still fresh and i haven’t even fisnished resetting my p/w.

Hopefully I can login in a while because earlier today my PS3 read my wireless connection as “Not Connected”, even though the router works for my computer. Perhaps it just indicated it wasn’t connected to PSN? I couldn’t even get the password change prompt on the PS3.
this is my second account, i had it send an email to my other one, but it hasnt gotten there and it’s been over 12 hours,
Its up now online is back thank god, whens Store back up, also i looked at my credit card funds and buying history nothing was bought and nothing was bought from my credit card either.
