Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.
Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. We’ll be updating the map below as service comes online in individual states. It will take several hours to restore PSN throughout the entire country, so please keep checking back for the latest updates. In the meantime, now’s a great time to get your PS3’s firmware updated, which is required to get online.
Notice: If your state is illuminated but your service has not yet been restored, please be patient – it can take a little while for the servers to populate fully.
Until we get the comments functioning correctly, we’re putting all comments on hold. I’m sure Jitender would appreciate not having people put words in his mouth ^_^
In the meantime, we’ll keep updating the map, and those of you already back online – enjoy some games!

Yea its back online i miss talking on the blog & playing on the ps3 & psp. Sony as your true ult. fan if there something u need let me know, 24 days out the psn was like the black plague that klLLing off the fans of being made & going to xbox360. well something like that at first i can say, overall i am happy now. :) oh yea the welcome program, now i wish i have 750GB or 500GB hard drive then 120GB. I plan on getting ps+ from the store today but when will the store be back up?

LEGGO! Good Job Sony. I feel sad for all the idiots who went out and bough a 360 just because you guys got brokeded for a little bit. Every great thing breaks down eventually. And it takes time to fix it. You guys did and I’m glad to be back online. Now, DONT LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN OR THE GODS OF CONSUMERISM WILL RAIN DOWN UPON YOU! Lol..naw jk…but for real it would be good if you didnt let this happen again….i was tired of hearing all my 360 friends brag about how the 360 was better for the past month just because we were out.

I bought xbox last sat and did not trade my ps3. Now that psn is back bye bye xbox I LOVE PS3 and PSN but I am addicted to zombies and broke down. now off to kill zombies on PSN

It’s great to be back online though I’d love to see a massive store update next Tuesday as I’m sure getting all that new content like beyond good and evil HD added/active takes time.

I am having trouble connecting to psn through my ps3. I am able to login on my pc but it keeps timing out on my ps3. Any one else having this issue? I have already changed my password and everything i am stumped.

Finally psn is back online. But alot of people forgot there password 4 there email.So sony should make it our new accounts capable o useing our old account online rankings.

Despite this fiendish and cowardly attack, your company pulled out of this mess like there was no tomorrow. If it was Microsoft and their boring Xbox, they’d spend months trying to figure it out. You guys were smart to test it out before just putting it out there for another attack. We know that you care for us, more than Microsoft ever could. People will say, “Hey, Sony is that company that emerged from that attack! Wow!” and, “Really? I throwing out my old Xbox.” This shows that you are smarter and faster. You guys are awesome! Some people would want to change to Xbox, some did, but they would not feel the care and awesomeness of you guys.
