Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.
Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. We’ll be updating the map below as service comes online in individual states. It will take several hours to restore PSN throughout the entire country, so please keep checking back for the latest updates. In the meantime, now’s a great time to get your PS3’s firmware updated, which is required to get online.
Notice: If your state is illuminated but your service has not yet been restored, please be patient – it can take a little while for the servers to populate fully.
Until we get the comments functioning correctly, we’re putting all comments on hold. I’m sure Jitender would appreciate not having people put words in his mouth ^_^
In the meantime, we’ll keep updating the map, and those of you already back online – enjoy some games!

when can i go in the store?
Wow. you guys (err, kids mostly i presume) are very forgiving. It’s been down for almost 4 weeks because of their ineptitude, and you’ve had your personal information compromised. And some of us have lost actual real-life money from services that apparently won’t be getting re-imbursed such as MLB TV.
Moving past that, however, i have one major question i’ve been wanting to ask since i couldn’t log in during the down time.
What does VERIFIED EMAIL mean? And what would stop someone from changing my password on me again if they have my email address already from the database hack?
Finally! I’m very happy that they made a hard work and turned PSN back to us! :)

Thanks for all the hard work.I’ve been gaming for 30 years or better,seen different systems come and go,what I’m saying is “ITS A GREAT SYSTEM” so there was no online play,so what,the system still worked,I growup with no internet,and had a blast playing games,don’t get me wrong,the online gaming in great,so SONY LET ME THANK YOU,happy gaming :)
I just want to thank all who played a part in getting things up and running again! I appreciate that you made your customer’s personal information priority over just getting things back up for impatient gamers. All those who had such harsh complaints against Sony would be even more upset if their identity were stolen. I mean don’t get me wrong I was anxious to get back online with my friends for some online gaming, but going to sell my ps3 for an xbox out of the question. I’ve always gotten my money’s worth from all Sony products I’ve owned as far back as I can remember so selling my ps3 was not going to happen. Thanks again!
I still need to use the playstation store so i could redeem codes such as my crysis 2 limited edition code.But i still am thankful to have psn back i guess crysis 2 has to wait.

I congratulate Sony for all their hard work, but with the large amounts of updates that have come out in recent weeks I am amazed the PS Store was not the first thing they fixed.

Thanks Sony. Just remember, most of us PS3 gamers weren’t these impatient trolls who are addicted to games and couldn’t stand being without PSN. We understood the severity, and the degree of this attack, and you handled it just fine. For a company that suffered the worst attack in history – and you got the system back in only three weeks; to rational people, that is a feat.

And agreed with Hossome_, most were just impatient saying they are going to buy an xbox, nothing wrong, but I think you would just be wasting money after trying to get games back and paying for xbox live, as I have 2 consoles I don’t have many games for the xbox.
