Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.
Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. We’ll be updating the map below as service comes online in individual states. It will take several hours to restore PSN throughout the entire country, so please keep checking back for the latest updates. In the meantime, now’s a great time to get your PS3’s firmware updated, which is required to get online.
Notice: If your state is illuminated but your service has not yet been restored, please be patient – it can take a little while for the servers to populate fully.
Until we get the comments functioning correctly, we’re putting all comments on hold. I’m sure Jitender would appreciate not having people put words in his mouth ^_^
In the meantime, we’ll keep updating the map, and those of you already back online – enjoy some games!

Even though we don’t have the network back yet I think PS3 still rocks! Hope they catch the dirt bags that caused this outage of service. Bot zone on KZ3 is so freaking boring , need some real competition.

Im glad the service is online but when the heck is the store gonna be back on?? I know your doing 3 updates in a week or something like that, but please let me know and everyone else know an exact date.. I didn’t like being left in the dark for 6 days when you came out of no where saying our Credit might have been compromised.. I think you should fire who ever was in charge of telling us about that issue, that even without solid evidence should have been thrown up as a possibility.. what if my CC info was indeed hacked and my checking acct., got drained, then you’d owe me more than a game or two..

Im not happy it seems like everyone is getting back online exept for me?? my internet is working fine i downloaded new update and changed password then when i try to sighn in… It times out!!! everytime i try to get on PSN?

You exceeded my wildest expectations getting back on so soon after such an extensive attack. I honestly thought it would be next month…well hurry with the PSstore because I got ALOT of PSN cards to spend. I bought a bunch just to stick it to those hackers!

I would like it if we had an ETA on the store. I had purchased DC Universe Online after the outage started and before I knew what was happening. Now that the network is back online I would like to actually play it, of course I can’t play it since I can’t enter the activation code for it. The waiting is driving me nuts, what Sony should do is give us a time table, it’s okay to say, “This isn’t set in stone, there could still be delays,” as long as we have a working time table.

To the people asking about the store, take a look at the map. Notice that some states are not up yet? I should assume that they are more focused on restoring the online portion to the whole country before they focus on the more difficult-to-get-up parts of the service such as the store.
While, yes, it is irritating, complaining isn`t going to help anything. The only thing to do at this point is do the same thing we`ve been doing for the past month: wait.

when is CT going to be up for the PS store and account management so i can redeem my promo codes. I have already waited a week and preordered this game just for the promo code I was getting. starting to lose faith in SONY and XBOX is looking better and better.
Please get all services back on in Nebraska :D i have a psp go that has no games on it and i would really like to be able to use it for the first time since i bought it (bought the psp go April 18th b4 knowlege of the outage) but good job so far sony
if i get one more site under maintenance I am going to smash this thing and go support bill gates obviously he knows how to secure a network. I have been a die hard play station guy since the 1st one but it shouldn’t take this long with all the money they have PSN should have been up and running completely. Don’t believe them when they say they are working around the clock because they are not they don’t care about us because they already have our money think about it. I paid $700 for mine when they first came out and its not worth crap if I cant use online. Those are the only games most people play these days. Hurry up Sony show us how big of a company you are.
