Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.
Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. We’ll be updating the map below as service comes online in individual states. It will take several hours to restore PSN throughout the entire country, so please keep checking back for the latest updates. In the meantime, now’s a great time to get your PS3’s firmware updated, which is required to get online.
Notice: If your state is illuminated but your service has not yet been restored, please be patient – it can take a little while for the servers to populate fully.
Until we get the comments functioning correctly, we’re putting all comments on hold. I’m sure Jitender would appreciate not having people put words in his mouth ^_^
In the meantime, we’ll keep updating the map, and those of you already back online – enjoy some games!

Happy to be playing Killzone 3 again. Super bummed after just recently buying a ps3 and then this whole messed appeared :| I agree with comment 2 I own a 360 also so I had at least some online gaming to do .

@bucksallday02 WOW that’s mean towards princess. Heaven forbid anyone say anything about being patient ¬ acting like video games are their LIFE! Maybe you should follow your own advice and go do something-as in something constructive (if that’s even possible).
American’s (which I am grateful to be one btw) have life way tooo easy if all they can’t even handle their video game network down for a short time (in the grand scheme of Life) No wonder so many of our soldiers are coming back with PTSD.

I wish Playstation would change the colors for the states that are up and running because it looks like to me that all the states are the exact same color which would mean that everybody should be up and running but I still can’t sign in yet.

okay I’ve waited about 20min for the email to show up to change the password of my alt account but it seems to not be working for msn. it worked on my gmail account for my main account in about 2min…hmmm
I think these are just intermittent issues at the moments. I wasn’t able to log in when I got home tonight, and a few minutes later I was able to log back in. Been online for a solid 20 minutes now.
Try restarting your systems, reentering your passwords and log in.

when I go to change the password on my alt account it says an error has accured but on my main account it works just fine.
I think it is just because sony is working on the more populated emails at the momment like yahoo and gmail…msn is just not working for me today lol
