Hi everyone,
First off, we have a couple merchandise updates: the bonus offer PlayStation Plus subscribers get when they sign up for the 1 year package is ending on 3/29, so the next few weeks mark the last time you’ll be able to take advantage of this opportunity! Additionally, the previously announced full game trial for MAG is getting switched to a MAG demo for all PSN subscribers. The MAG demo comes down on March 29.
Second, we’d like to preview our upcoming publishes by calling out some of the free games, huge discounts and exciting exclusives coming your way over the next couple weeks.
Free Games
PlayStation Plus subscribers will get SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs Beta, along with the PlayStation Move Heroes full game trial for free in the March 22 publish.
Then on March 29, Plus subscribers will get Comet Crash and Vector TD for free! Take back your comet from the enemy in Comet Crash using build turrets, lasers, and a number of other units to obliterate your foes, or join up with a few friends in Co-op mode to fight together. Players can also go head-to-head in Versus mode and see who is worthy of conquering the massive Comet.
Huge Discounts
On March 29 you get Ricochet HD, the futuristic brick-breaking title, for a whopping 75% off the regular store price! Ricochet HD offers 150 levels of action, and the 10 unique planetary vistas are certainly easy on the eyes.
We’re also offering the classic PSone snowboarding title Cool Boarder 2 at a 50% discount starting on the 29th.
Starting on March 22, we’re offering a 20% discount on Swarm, but this offer will only last for two weeks.
Exciting Exclusives
For all the X-Men, Iron Man, and Street Fighter fans out there we’re offering Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds 38 Avatars bundle exclusively to Plus subscribers on the 29th.

This recycled content thing is going to tick me off. I’m not going to say that no content should EVER be made available again for new subscribers, but there’s no excuse for someone with a 1-year subscription to see the same content twice. (And that’s even excluding the extra three months we got.) You want to give new subscribers a chance at things like Space-shooter for 2 bucks and so on, fine. But I don’t want to see it twice within the same 12-month period.
I’m loving the three pieces of rehashed content. I didn’t want anything new anyway. I hate getting the new content every month that I paid for.
@ El_Hoardo Kind of end of the world, it is just this weeks update. We are still getting a first time offerings of the Sega Genesis game, Comet Crash and at least 1 mini. Not bad for the $3.33/month the annual subscribers are paying. Not to mention demos, betas, themes, discounts, cloud sharing and 1 hour trials. You won’t like everything every month, but there is plenty to get your moneys worth. And if it isn’t worth your money, don’t renew. It isn’t for everyone. You are out $3.33 this month if you feel you got zero benefit.
Keep up the great content! And thanks for the Heros on the Move trial, the demo handt quite sold me and this way i should be able to get a good taste of the game.
i wish i knew what characters where available in the Marvel bundle.. if there’s a Spidey one or two in there, thats almost worth the $4 price tag
Is it at all possible for the next repeat game to be WipeOut HD, i missed it by one week when i first subscribed. all in all these next updates are great. thanks again :)
why is the code from killzone3 HE still not valid.
@Gnordy
I paid for something. I expect to receive what I paid for each month without exception, regardless of what I paid for it. The rest of the content does not compensate for that, because I paid for that content as well.
This is simply a matter of Sony not delivering on the promises they originally made. I should not be the one that has to bear the burden, no matter how small that is. I should get what I paid for, or I should get my money back. There is plenty of other new content that I could buy with that money.
Awesome, I just signed up for a year of PSN+ no more then 15 minutes ago. I can’t afford alot of games this year (despite the fact that this year has a plethora of amazing games that I would buy if I could,) so I figured I’d get PSN+ and always have something new to play. The SOCOM 4 beta coming out on the 22nd also helped considering I wanted to play it during spring break and wouldn’t have been able to otherwise.
I only wish you guys would offer all the free content that was previously offered at all times. I would love to play Wipeout HD and the other free games. Oh well, hopefully they’ll make their way back around sometime down the road.
When is Mega Man 4 going to be on PSN?
Eh… there’s really not a lot there I’m excited for. Question. What was the point of packing the SOCOM beta key in with Killzone3 if every PS+ user was getting access anyways? Seems kind of pointless.
Also… Coolborders 2? Ugh.. what happened to getting good games?
wow so cool
@Hush404
Because not everyone that bought KZ3 is a Plus subscriber?
Man I’m glad I decided to join up with + when it was introduced. I am absolutely staying a member when it comes time to resub. Maybe us early adopters will get lucky when our 15months are up and be offered another deal along those lines when the times comes! Either way keep the love coming!
i love it thanks to playstation and the ps+ i have ima have a beta code left over from the killzone 3 game i brought might as well give it away to someone i know or maybe not ;)
This whole MAG Demo/Free Trial/Demo thing is confusing as heck. Will the new MAG demo be the one that’s been on PS+ forever?
So will we get a bonus for renewing our second year of plus? OR should we purchase a second year now?
Is it even possible to purchase longer than a year?
OMG! 2 BETAS I WANT OH YEEEsss…. wait a second. I already have the socom beta from buying KZ3 like a good ps3 noodle. Oh well. It’s good to see you guys finally giving us the goods. BTW Sony. Would it hurt to increasing the cloud space and also let other accounts on the system use it? It’s dumb to have to copy my saves twice. Then recopy them twice again.
AMAZING, simply AMAZING!!!! I’m so glad I became a ps+ member. I will continue to sign up for years to come if this is how we are going to be treated. Keep it up guys!!!!
<3 my PS+ Membership. I got TONZ of goodies for my ps3 and PSP! The early access to demos is a bonus! =)
we already got oddworld, space shooter, and vector. stop f**king around sony.
The Marvel vs CAPCOM 3 avatars and Socom 4 beta are enough to satisfy me for now.
Although I kind of wish you just gave a few of them (MvC3 avatars) away for free or sell them separately, rather than selling us the bundle. Because I’d rather spend $1-2 on the avatars I want, then have my avatar list take forever longer to load because I got 38 avatars when I’ll only really use 2-4 of them. It takes long enough to load as it is. :(
i have a question
i want to renew my plus subscription to take advantage of the 3 months offer and want to know if i renew now before my subscription ends will it add up and start when mine finishes?
Thanks
So if we purchase the year again now, will that just be added onto what we already have?
Basically, my plus membership ends in october, will the year I purchase now begin at that point?
ps+ is a joke, comet crashers is like 3 years old, give us newer games like 2010 ones and stuff. how bout not giving a billion themes? and free avatars instead caz im never gonna buy any avatar anyway
Also, um, why is it that all of the free stuff we are getting we have already gotten at some point except for comet crash?
Split/Second wow! I wanted it but not on disc! #winning I looooovvvveee ps+
Can you guys make more avatars available? Killzone, inFAMOUS, God of War, Dead Space, etc. would be nice.
i need that private beta asap…. can’t wait
PSN Plus is quite honestly one of the best investments I’ve made in awhile. I need to upgrade my PS3 hard drive AGAIN because there is just so much to get with so little space!
What I want to know is, I’ve already got PlayStation Plus, so when I game a game that’s discounted through PlayStation Plus say for $7.50 and the game originally goes for $14.99, when and if my PlayStation Plus comes to an end, does that mean I have to pay the difference on all the content that I purchased while I had PlayStation Plus? Am I inevitably going to have to pay it at one point, unless it were to price drop by then. I never understood that. Is it just the all the FREE stuff that you get that expires at the duration of your subscription period, or is it everything you’d ever gotten?
Hi Omega_Nemesis28 – Good question, anything you pay for during your PlayStation Plus subscription is yours to keep and play forever.
