@71 – I wouldn’t expect to see Hard Corps: Uprising for at least a month. It is part of 360’s “House Party” promotion and they always try to get exclusives for their seasonal promotions (in this case it’s just a timed exclusive, but I’d expect it to be an Xbox exclusive for at least a month). It comes out tomorrow for Xbox.
@98 – I’m almost positive backwards compatibility is a hardware issue. They removed it when they were trying to get production costs down so they could release the PS3 at a more competitive price. I could be wrong, i’m definitly not a techie, but for the forseeable future I think you’re gonna be digging out the PS2 whenever you wanna play one of those games. Luckily its pretty cheap now for those that don’t have one.
And in regards to the update, I picked up Funky Lab Rat (actually been waiting for a sale for that one, $3 was enough for me to jump) and Penny Arcade games. Recently Playstation has been killing it with the sales on downloadable games, really stomping all over Microsoft’s sales. Nice job guys, thanks, and keep it up!

Sony removed the backwards compatibility because they want you to buy old games through their PSN storefront. Sony doesn’t make any profit when you buy used games from Ebay-Amazon.

Just to play 2 player games on move one must buy 4 move controllers and one playstation eye, all of that costs 250$,(without tax and navigation controllers). One kinect cost me 150$ and does 1-4 players for no extra cost, and it came with a game. and you say the kinect is over priced… O_O’

I really wanted to pick up the Penny Arcade bundle, but since I already own the 1st game, the bundle is not available to me. It would be real nice if they updated the store so people that already owned the first game can pick up the 2nd game for $1.50 and vice-versa. Anyone know a way around this?

I deal with software all of the time. I don’t believe that it is a hardware issue because of the PS3’s ability to read multiple varieties of media when inserting a disc into the system. as far as Sony wanting us to purchase old games from the PSN store, I am looking to play PS2 games. There hasn’t been one released as of right now. The God of War collection is a remastered copy of the original that was re released in disc format for the PS3 in high definition. The content of that disc was ported over without all of the extra content that was released with the disc based version. I have no problem with the way they handle their PS1 content. The PS2 games become an issue because of their size and the hard drive space. If a Sony representative could give an appropriate answer to the question as to weather it is or is not possible is really the question. I mean who wouldn’t want the added capability for subscribing to a PREMIUM service.
Psn team I will ask and say again what is going on with my PSN account. The MAG STARTER KIT is NOT on my PLUS psn account at all. Its GONE all together. I have 13 psn accounts I use this one that Im commenting from for PLUS as in I PAY FOR PLUS FROM THIS ACCOUNT. I bought MAg about 2 weeks ago from the PSN off this account Im commenting from right now and Im really pissed that a weird glitch is going on as I CAN NOT PURCHASE the MAG STARTER KIT from this account in my PLUS section or anywhere in my BLUE-EYED-SLICKT psn PLUS account. I have signed into my other AMERICAN psn accounts and the STARTER KIT for MAG thats 7.50 is there but not on the account I bought MAG on. [DELETED] is going on I want to BUY THAT DOWNLOAD!

@ghettobeddow If I remember correctly, there was an emulator chip allowed old PS3s to play PS2 games and it was removed to make the unit more cost efficient.
I bought my PS3 after they were removed, but I made sure to get one off the secondary market that could play PS2 games (with a 320G HD to boot and for less than a GameStop stock model). I highly doubt they’ll release a patch for this issue given all the time that is passed. I think the best you could hope for is having to buy an emulator off of PSN, but I really don’t see them making one.

I am on PS+. Having played the PURE demo for hours back on the 360, I decided to buy the $19.99 PSN version without the one hour trial. I got the PS+ prompt that the game was part of the PS+ deal, and I would lose the game if not subscribed to PS+.
Should this really be how this happens? I believe PURE is up for everyone as it was on the front page of the PSN games store. Why should I have to keep a subscription to keep my $20 dollar game if I bought it without the 1 hour trial and no PS+ discounts?
An answer would be appreciated. The ability to unlink this game from my PS+ downloads would be amazing. Thank you.

I love when PLUS members get free games or even discounts on games, it makes the service seem like there is a legitimate value for your subscription and that makes spending my money on the service more appealing.
That said, limiting the availability of FREE game DEMOS (third party, no less) ONLY to people who pay that extra money? WHAT? Get right out of town, SONY.
Space Ace wallpaper…does this mean that Space Ace is coming to PSN like Dragon’s Lair did?!?! I haven’t pulled the trigger on Dragon’s Lair yet, but if Space Ace hits PSN at the same price, I’m all over that. Any news??

Hopefully withe all the penny arcade and tales of monkey island we can get a 3rd episode to finish the story of penny arcade game even if its made by as different company and another monkey island series. I love that game. Or maybe a remake of other classic Lucas art series.
