i have been waiting too long and took 3 days off of work. you people have no excuse for your lack of performance. i would be fired if i could not come within a freaking year of my original completion date. i will be surprised if they can recover their development costs…..

Wow as a student I wish my life were more like that… at some point there are deadlines. I am all for delays usually but not after they spent so much effort insisting Nov. 2 was real.

Gran Turismo 5 has been one of the hugest disappointments for gamers across the globe, and it hasn’t even been released.

WOW…how does it feel to be the laughing stock of the gaming industry? Regardless of how good the game is, the delays after delays have been ruining the reputation of PD and SONY. Mr. Yamauchi specifically mentioned that there would be no more delays to the game and that Nov.2 would be the final release date. Way to look like a fool. There is something the people at SONY and PD have forgotten, it’s that a man is only as good as his word. Where i come from at least, that means something. Duke Nukem and Gran turismo will live in infamy as the greatest vaporware in the history of gaming.
What a shame… I was looking forward to wasting away with this game…

I’m the biggest Sony fan out there, but this might very well prove to be a fatal blow for the holiday season. What new exclusives will Sony be releasing by the middle of November (by the time the heavy hitters are coming out)? Little Big Planet 2 and GT5 are slated for what? A late December/January release? Xbox at least has Halo: Reach and Fable 3 plus superior Call of Duty sales. As a huge Sony supporter, this is VERY unsettling to me as WE HAVE NO EXCLUSIVE HOLIDAY LINEUP. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m not. We can’t count on PlayStation Move to “move” units this Holiday season in anticipation for GT5, Little Big Planet 2, Killzone 3, Resistance 3, The Last Guardian, inFamous 2, and the sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum? Other than the last game, the others are exclusives. That’s an awesome lineup.

I figured it out! that Make*Believe slogan Sony has been using isn’t for creativity and technology. They threw in the shining light/star in the middle to fool us. They were saying its all “Make believe” like when we used to pretend play when we were little.

OK. Someone said in the comments that you own us AMAZING FREE DLCs for all these delays. This last one is very hard to accept.

20 tracks for a garage with 1000 cars is too little. 70 variations, ok, but I’m not a fan of variations. I want tracks.
So, Free DLC suggestion:
I want 200 tracks, Formula-1 tracks specially, from the 50s to the 90s and the present F-1 tracks, all in the game, FOR FREE, by May 2011.
Like people are saying, you own us, Sony.
But, if this do not get released by 2010, forget the DLCs, I’ll just throw my PS3 through the window.
rick6730 I’m with you. I bought my phat PS3 at $550 after taxes 3 years ago just for this game. Since FF13 and Assassins Creed went multiplatform anyways. Sony straight up lied to everyone at E3. This is how sony treats the phat owners. They say “F*** you, YLOD? too bad no warranty for you. Go buy a ps3 slim”. The xbox 360 slim has a new customer this holiday season.

They’ll be making a GranTurismo Prologue 2 before the full game comes out. What a joke!!! Think Poly foney should be sacked as bringing Sony’s name down. I am absolutely disgusted at this and even though I still really want this game I just know I am going to be looking for faults in it and just so you know I don’t think 90% of players could care less about the damage after 5 minutes of playing it so that was a waste of time!!!!!
i wonder if Gamestop will let me transfer the money i paid to pre-order the Collector’s Edition toward another game or two. i’d rather have a couple games that are really real rather than wait around for Polyphony Digital to tinker with Gran Turismo forever.

I have had mine pre-ordered for awhile now. Just gives me more time to focus on Black Ops till it does come out I guess.
HOWEVER
I have to say that because of all of the delays, the postpones, never having updated GT5P with Trophy support and GTPSP more or less being just a way of grinding out credits to buy more cars as a head start for GT5…
Gran Tourismo 5, should be spotless, in every way. No trophy glitches, mlutiplayer works like a charm, match making is simple, fast and easy. The uploading of cars from both GTP and GTPSP should be seamless and fast. Everything so polished we are nearly blinded by the shiney-ness of it.
I’m torn. Since I have dual platforms with the PS3 and xBox elite, when I cancel my pre-order do I then purchase Forza 3 or do I go with Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood?
GT5 is a myth people! It never existed. We’ll see GT6 before we see GT5
I bought my PS3 in 2007 expecting GT5 to be out in 1 year tops, my preorder was placed in 2007. I keep trying to forgive them for the delays and we were all promised that the last delay was the last & that was 9 months ago…. and when you start to get even the a little exited about it…BANG Delayed again.
I will def think very long and hard about buy a PS4 when it comes out, as I’m 100% sure there will be delay after delay.
Just like the internet firmware update for the PSP which was delayed 5 times in 6 months…sound like Sony trying to get the christmas sales buy the sounds of it : ( poor show..
