Yes, the Killzone 3 Public Beta Trial really is coming! Just like its predecessor, the multiplayer mode for Killzone 3 will be put through rigorous testing at the hands of the toughest, most demanding critics in existence: you, the fans. The Trial starts on October 25th and access is limited to 5,000 U.S. Plus subscribers, so please read the following instructions carefully if you want to know how to secure a spot in the Public Beta:
- Be(come) a Plus subscriber
- With the exception of a handful of key media partners and selected PAX feedback participants, access to the Killzone 3 Public Beta Trial is limited to PlayStation Plus subscribers. If you’re not enjoying the many benefits of Plus membership yet, now’s the time to sign up!
- Download the theme
- On October 19th, an exclusive Killzone 3 XMB Theme will appear in the Plus section of the PlayStation Store. The first 10,000 Plus subscribers to download this theme (5,000 U.S. Plus subscribers and 5,000 European Plus subscribers) will receive access to the Public Beta Trial.
- Check your email
- After you’ve downloaded the Killzone 3 XMB Theme, you will receive an email on Oct. 25th containing the Public Beta Trial promotion code and further instructions through the address you registered as your PSN Sign-In ID. Make sure you’ve set your notification preferences to accept emails from SCE, or we won’t be able to contact you.
Those of you who make it into the Public Beta Trial are expected to provide honest gameplay feedback, report bugs and glitches, and help test our network code in real-world scenarios. In short, we’re counting on you to help us improve Killzone 3! In return you’ll get a good taste of the multiplayer mode, including its brand-new Operations game type, party system, and jetpack and exoskeleton vehicles.

Easy tiger. So you spent your parents money on a sub for some betas and so far have gotten one of two. There are all kinds of free and discounted items in the PS+ store that are pretty nice.
All you’re saying is “cater to my demands or I’ll pitch a fit.” That’s absolutely the wrong way to get anyone to want to give you a beta key.

Yes, I did recieve one and I do understand your frustration. As I mentioned, the LBP beta is #1 on my list and it’s doubtful I’ll ever get in.
That doesn’t stop me from trying though. If I were you I’d try to contact Sony and see what the issue is. Mention that it said open to USA and Canada and that you seem to have been voided for being in Canada. It’s worth a shot.

1.) It was my money, first of all. Don’t act tough there big guy.
2.) I said betas were my number one priority, discounts and free stuff is good too. Maybe some BETTER stuff would be nice.
3.) I’ve been anticipating KZ3 more than any game. So you’d understand why I’d be upset.
I’m not even close to saying “Cater to my demands…” I think they should improve their quality of discounts, themes, games, betas, etc… that’s all.

ok so whats the point in the beta if u cant test out the move with the killzone 3 beta thats just not smart you need to know how it going to play out online might not respond correctly or something might go wrong and second i am a playstaion plus sub and dislike that its a limited thing with the theme download i got it as soon as it came out and no email thats just lame and kind of makes me not want to get playstation plus again

Wait a minute, you enter PS+ only and ONLY for the betas? Betas doesn’t last longer than 2 months (at least the ones they give away in Plus)and there are TONS of other ways to get them for free (Twitter anyone?) and normally the Plus keys are the last given away
How is that any better than the Free games and the discounts? (which in the other hand SCEA has handled so poorly, but that’s a different story)
There are other ways to get in, keep an eye on gamer websites like “Kotaku.com”

Given your trophy history and low overall game count, I find it incredibly hard to believe you’d even attempt to get into the Killzone beta much less actually make it in, wait for the email a week later and then play it. I especially find it amusing that you call out Killzone and FPS as “dumbing down gaming” when you have very little by way of “intelligent” or particularly innovative or genre defining.

@FlawedZero lol..you make it sound like getting the beta invite was difficult. I just saw the theme on ps+ at a lil’ after 4pm pst the day it was put there an DL’d it. Then yesterday at 6:01pm got email. You just play guerrilla warfare skirmish over an over in this frozen (small) like factory zone. After playing for awhile the small area got real dull and repetitive. I dont care if you or anyone else dont believe it. Your opinion of me means almost nothing to me. Thats all I care to speak about it. This to has grown tiresome and dull. I have better things to do with my time. You apparently don’t. Enjoy your dull and boring games , I take comfort knowing they will keep you away from the games I enjoy most. :)

Interesting, you apparently did get one. I never said it was impossible, just that you’re incredibly lucky in getting one even with everyone fighting to get it. Either way, judging an entire game off a beta is a bit silly as they tend to test small parts at a time.

Maybe you should write a calm, non-begging letter to the developer expressing your interest and love of the game. Not guaranteed to get you in but it’s worth a shot.

I’m not typically a big fan of shooters myself. The first shooter style game that I played that I felt was more than just “running around shooting people over and over” was Uncharted 2. You can get it pretty cheap now, it’s worth playing in my opinion.
Sony, GG. Is there anyway to get access to the BETA as a non- PS+ member? I cannot afford to pay the extra money for the PS+, and honestly, by limiting the scope of the BETA to PS+ membes only, you are not going to get the full feedback from actual users that GG needs. Many of the PS+ users just want to play it but do not know how and have no intentions of providing feedback that would be helpful. Trust me, I know a few of members like this… Seriously, I put almost 400 hours online for KZ3, I’m sure I can provide a LOT more feedback than a PS+ member that put in 50 hours online, then moved to get trophy on the next game…… Is there any other way?
