The Resurgence Package is here! The second game add-on for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now available on PSN, and brings with it five additional multiplayer maps, including some of the most unique and awesome places you’ll ever have a firefight.
As always, we’re focused on bringing a little something for everyone in the Resurgence Package. Take Carnival, a desolate and large amusement park that’s perfect for objective gametypes and offers some amazing vantage points atop the wooden roller coaster “Dragon’s Den” or the looming sniper spot positioned high above “The World Of Tomorrow.” This place is like nothing you’ve ever seen in multiplayer before, with distinct locations all around the map which are perfect for calling out enemy positions and working tactically with your team.
Fuel is a sniper’s haven in this massive desert oil refinery with wide-open areas and extremely long sightlines. If you’re running and gunning, stick to the buildings in the center or take the underground tunnel route to get out to the snipers in the surrounding rocks and oil pumps. Trailer Park is maze of thin sheet metal fencing, torn up trailer units, and cluttered recreation areas. Trailer Park is ideal for the FMJ mod, and offers some insane Headquarters matches due to the soft cover points and thin walls that surround the objectives. We’ve also brought back two more fan favorite and classic Call of Duty 4 maps; Vacant and Strike. We’ve made some key tactical changes to both maps that veteran Call of Duty 4 players will pick up and start taking advantage of immediately. Such as the opening of the back room by Objective point C in the marketplace on Strike, and the now more accessible top floor of the flower shop overlooking the main street. On Vacant, the back gate of the office complex that leads to the hallway will now be open on specific gametypes like Demolition to give the defending team a faster route to the objective.
That’s just a bit of the new details you’re about to discover when you jump online and start exploring the five new locations the Resurgence Package adds to Modern Warfare 2. You’ll also notice we’ve changed up the playlists to introduce some new game modes and accommodate the new maps. You can now choose to play exclusively on the new Resurgence maps by choosing one of the two Resurgence playlists at the bottom. Just like last time, Resurgence and Hardcore Resurgence offers a variety of game modes to play. We’ve also introduced two completely new mosh-pit style playlists called “Barebones Pro” and “Objective Barebones Pro” which both have Killstreak Rewards disabled. So set up a new create a class, strip off Cold Blooded because you won’t be needing that, and see what it’s like to go head-to-head with no air support to worry about.
Most importantly though, let us know what you think. We’ll continue to change up the playlists based on YOUR feedback. Anyone else notice the Intervention isnt working as well as it used to? As for Commando, just play hardcore, its easier to shoot em than stab em in that mode. I hardly ever get killed by campers (they have to camp somewhere, and ive paid good atteintion to thier fav hiding spots.) Toobers, i hate you. ok ok i dont hate you, but im not gonna be your friend. lol.

Robert or anyone else here, do you guys know when da new maps are gonna be in all playlists? Robert said it was going to be in all playlists today and its still not in them. I wanna play some TDM on da new maps and not play Mosh Pit all da time.

To be honest, the map packs didn’t do justice to the Playstation consumers. One, both map DLC’s are at a very high price than the average Call of Duty map DLC’s I’ve purchased before. Two, I think U guys are just a little lazy for not adding 5 new maps in total. Instaed, U added three new maps, and two remakes. If U expect to sell, users want new are creative mulitplayer maps, not maps they played in the past. Also, I think its time to have a new Title update because there are so many flaws during G]gamplay in Modern Warfare’s online pay
look its real easy to make this game fun again
1. limit noobtube classes
2. kick cheaters off psn period.
3. get rid of my friends jumping in my matches
4. get rid of or make painkiller less affective
5. make online matches less laggy
6. the one night i played overgrown 8 times out of 12 matches randomize the maps better my god overgrown is so over played
7. make it a litle harder to shoot down harriers and attack helicopters.

I know that this has been mentioned but I really want CTF back.
Maybe a Playlist called “PERCISION COMBAT” a playlist that contains NO noobtubes, RPG’s, Thumpers NO explovise guns but the stinger to take down airsupport. to take it farther “Percision combat pro” which contains NO explovise guns NO perks NO killstreaks let the best man win!! that would be a game to play!!
i do love barebones pro & objective! but i think the explosive guns should be removed from the playlist… then people may try and do the objective, people just shoot the tubes at the bomb/flag to kill (NO SKILL). it would make the game more competitive!

@405 i agree with you on all your ideas but the last two. So, many times when they are boosters and I can’t get to them before they nuke I will leave. I will do the samething when the game decides to put me in a game thats almost over. I also don’t think they should make shooting down the aircraft harder i would like to see them make the stinger more accurate, there is nothing like locking on with the stinger on a harrier and watching the rocket take off to the side at the get go. They do need to find a way to do away with all the boosting though.
412 boosters? i also think that they shouldnt put you in to a match that is already in progress theres 200000 people online im sure there is a open loby somewhere

I just wanted to take a moment to say that the ‘Resurgence Pack’ is the best pack out yet. I think the maps were very carefully thought out and the Sniper locations in ‘Fuel’ are amazingly placed to allow you at least 2 or 3 kills without being found. I would like to thank you and the Development TEAM for thinking up such great ideas! Not only is the the best DLC yet but it also is, I think, the best set of medium to large maps that really even the playing field. I think ‘Strike’ and ‘Vacant’ have been beautifully ‘Digitally Re-mastered’ if you will, and the increase of lighting in the maps is like night and day, huge difference. I would love to talk about how great these maps are however, duty calls and I must get going.
I would love to have a match with you and your team to see the strategy behind the minds, as I like to play tactically as well. Congrats on the Pack once again and until next time.

Love the maps off Robert! Keep’em coming! Keep the COD4 Maps coming as well! Suggestions! PLEASE! Barbones is a cool idea, but your missing the point completely, Barbones would mean really mean no perks and attatchments. People are still noobing and commando proing all over the place! Make it a real Barbones! 2nd, for DLC, maybe do some new Spec Ops, emblems and titles for Multiplayer and maybe even bring some old COD4 Weapons in, like the M40A3. Bring back CTF, that was one of the funnest gametypes and ya’ll took away from the playlist. Lastly in order for all these to work, you need to fix the bugs and glitches with the weapons, take care of one many army noob tubes and nerf the noob tube back to COD4 era PLEASE! Get rid of Tac Insertions in FFA or somehow fix the boosting! All of this is game breaking when it is being abused and makes the game unjoyable, if you just fix these problems I gurantee your COD fans would love you man and right it feels like we are being ignored cause already made ya’lls money with the game’s release. PLEASE Robert don’t let us down. Thanks :-)
anyway i thin the biggest problem isnt with infinity war its that he fact that SONY has to make online service better, and psn plus seems to me ur paying for better addons

dudes stop complaining about boosting. the tac should stay , i use the tac insetion in many game modes.
I downloaded the pack and I say it’s way better than the stimulus mostly because the I only like one or two maps in it. However the most exciting and unique map Carnival has some major downfalls. Including the cut-out in the stealth clown. I was owned sooooooooo many times by a noob camping there. Fuel also has some problems like how grenade-launchers get you down the path. The buildings don’t provide much cover either because there is always a camper waiting for you. Strike was pretty fun and a thousand times better than crash, including how you no longer never have to go to a specific spot (cough,Crash,cough) and instead find a good spot to own. Also vacant was a bad addition to the pack, cause it’s suicide inside the building and you’re forced to camp outside. Trailer park is the second best, with so many entry points and nice shortcuts it is a well rounded map that is an invitation to do whatever you want, camp, snipe, run-in-gun, and patrol. All-in-all a 4/5

I faced a glitch in vacant the other day me and my friends were playing domination and the door that’s supposed to be open was instead closed and the other team one because of this.
Are you or have you planed Map pack 3, and if you have PLEASE DON’T LET XBOX HAVE THEM FIRST!!!!!

Perhaps the best map ever in any CoD game, it provides many cover points and is the best designed out all of the maps and blocks out Grenade-Launchers do to the fact that there is so much cover. Also it keeps you on you’re toes with many advantage points including the roller-coaster, stealth clown, and the rocket ship. However there are down-falls, the cut out in the stealth clown always has a camper there just waiting for me to pop up. Also it’s booster heaven I caught boosters at the carousal already getting a chopper gunner. And the other maps aren’t as exciting, Vacant gives you a choice, Grenade-Launcher or shotguns. Fuel is filled to the brim with hidden snipers, and trailer park is spaying heaven. Although strike was fun to snipe on and run-and-gun. Altogether a 4/5

Quick question, if there is a third map pack for MW2, could you please add Bloc and Pipeline from Cod4 on it? Those two were my two personal favorites from that game!!! Keep up the good work and ignore all of the haters that flame you guys!!!

I guess I’m a bit late, but to throw my two cents in…. I’d love to see a couple of variations on Free for All, especially a “barebones” just for FFA.
oh yeah, forget all the [DELETED] about price…. you can hardly buy a paperback or CD for that much these days… what’s $15 bucks for a game I play as much as MW2? nothing, just more fun
The maps are great however I would love to see more of a weapons pack.
bring back some of the old weapons from COD4. Such as the G36 and maybe new weapons such as the XMB8. Maybe new perks as well.
okay am i the only one who is going to ask when they are going to stop the BOOSTING? heres a simple remedy: take the tactical insertion out!!! im tired of playing free for all with my 11 year old a state away and only being able to play 4 mins of a 10 minute game and continuously get anhilated by extras such as helicopters and plane drops.
another suggestion is eliminating successive kills.
and im being lazy here but are these new maps going to be avail for free for all any time soon or at all?
all i can say is if your a booster than your a cheater. you cheat yourself in learning real skills in trade for a cool nuke emblem! ooh im so impressed. ive never had a nuke and could care less unless i earn it.
I agree with vicious sid79 is used the nuke emblem until 2 friends boosted to get it and started using it so i switched mine to something else.
Also does anybody know if theirs going to be new titles and emblems, 402 mention it on the infinity ward site queit a while ago?
hi Robert just want to let you know first of all LOVE THE NEW MAPS i love carnival i like being on the castle and just quick scoping every1 that gets in that little rocket carnival is my best map ill be going like 10-1 in SND on there.
Now as for what i think should be done next is first of all i think the next map pack should be the rest of the cod4 maps just all of them but make it so if you have cod4 you get them free or at a discount like how BFBC2 has the veteran thing where you get a WW2 gun and stuff even if we just get the cod4 map packs for $5 instead of $15 that would be cool but just for cod4 members.

next i have a question about vacant because on the map pack trailer it showed that the little gate where you spawn when defending on search that the gate was gone but i have been playing and its still there did only 360 get the gate gone?
i also think that when you add game modes to the play list none should be removed they should stay and you just make the list longer.

the next idea i have that i think will be really really cool is a team tact play list just for small teams cause i always play with my friends team tact cause we can communicate easier and play better then in reg pubs but we HATE playing sabotage and CTF so i think there should be a team tact play list where you can play mosh pit team tact (reg team tact) or a search only team tact (4v4 search) and so on my and my friends would LOVE THAT please reply with what you think.And keep up the good work love infinity ward just don’t like activision X) lol mainly just since they set the prices but i will be playing mw2 for a while even after black ops…
also one more thing i have been playing cod4 and all i can say is GOLD GUNS loved that should be added for the heck of it and also spinning 10th prestige emblem heard about it only see 10th prestige hackers with it is it a hack on emblem?
all the maps are integrated in all playlists now basically tdm dom, dem, ctf,sab, & S&D , etc so check it out guys
the moving 10th prestige emblem is a hack as all hackers have it but robert bowling has yet to comment on whether u can unlock it legitimately and how to get it their are rumors about completing the entire prestige challenge list , others say all prestige challenges for all the guns like the veteran and master challenges i dont have it so i dont know but robert could u plz reply as i am curious since im @ 9th prestige lvl 70 legit and curious if i can unlock the emblem or do i have to prestige to 10th
People have gotten into the PC versions files and it says that you have to complete Ak-47 Veteran 4 to get the spinning tenth emblem. THis challenge doesnt exist, so how are we supposed to get it legit Robert?….Maybe ill just go join a challenge lobby to get it(dont act like you dont know they exist)

I’m a fan of COD. I have bought all of them for the ps2 & the ps3. But mw2 isn’t as good as the rest of them. I still play waw more than I play this, and I play BBC2 more than waw. All I’m saying is that Black Ops better be a hell of a lot better than mw2.
And also, why the hell do i have to pay $30 to get 2 map packs, and i can get 3 on waw for a little less than that?
Oh yes I also want to rant about something else. Please for the love of God take Free-for-all off the barebones playlist!!
Not only is the one of the worst gamemodes in the game, but usually people just boost in these matches. They will even go as far to skip a TDM match when and if it does come up. Which upsets me beyond belief cause I want to play a TDM match since it take me so long to actually land in one.
This is getting beyond ridiculous. It takes me a good 20-30 tries before I actually land myself in a TDM match… then usually the match is almost over and when the next match is TDM everybody votes to skip cause they want to boost on a FFA match.
I really like the Barebones setup, but FFA is ruining it for me and making it incredibly irritating to try and play this game. TDM BY FAR is the most popular gamemode in the game… so PLEASE give it its own barebone playlist!
Oh and another thing… fix your matchmaking system already. When I quit from a match, I DO NOT want to go back into the same exact match when I search for another game. Usually I will have to re-quit out of the same match 5 times or so before the game puts me a in a new match. This is ridiculous.
Hi, one thing that is starting to bother me is, quick scoping. How is it fair to run n gun with a weapon that effectively kills you with one hit,that is designed for long range. Some of the kills I’ve seen on the replays are shocking to say the least. Can it be made harder for people who do this? Otherwise I have no other qualms with the game, very pleased with both map packs. Keep up the good work.
