Well, I hope everyone has recovered from the PixelJunk sale bonanza we had last month – as far as I could tell people were buying up PixelJunk titles by the tenfold which is great!
For those that haven’t already heard, PixelJunk Shooter 2 is in full production, full steam ahead, anchors away and all that… commotion to that order. I can’t say much about it now, but it will have some features that are new to the PixelJunk series in general and will be bigger than the first game! We’re busy implementing all the ideas that were left on the drawing board for the first game to make Shooter 2 as jam-packed full of crazy fun as possible… I’m pretty sure we won’t make a Shooter 3 because everything and the kitchen sink (probably quite literally) is going into Shooter 2. Keep your eyes glued to the Blog (in-between playing PixelJunk games of course) for more info on this in the future!
And for those who still aren’t sure about the awesomeness PixelJunk Shooter really (no, really!) is, we’re going to release a free demo of one of my favourite levels in the game on May 25th. The level has explosive gas, magma, water, tons of cool enemies, volcanic eruptions and you can wreak all kinds of havoc with the fluid physics. This will push you over the edge to get the game!

Shooter is great, but unfortunately for a gamer like I, it was way too short-lived. 100%’d the darn thing in a couple sittings. @.@
Great to know we’ll be hearing more great tunes from the same author also.
This is great news Dylan. Loved the first game, even though (and I’m sure you’ll agree ;-) ) it was a little short. I hope this one takes hours to complete and I can’t wait to see what physics and elemental based puzzles the team have lined up for us.

Why can’t you just make DLC packs for the original? Are you fundamentally changing the game?

Ahhhh! I could not be more excited. PJS is one of my favorite games of all time. It’s just pure fun. Both relaxing and potentially frustrating at the same time. I leave the game on sometimes just to listen to the music. So glad HFB will be working with the sequel. I recommend PixelJunk Shooter to everyone. The game is worth every penny at full price. Make sure to grab the demo next week. There’s no excuse not to give it a chance!

I really do hope this game will be enormous! I loved the first Shooter sooooooo much. I played through the game with my dad the first time, and he doesn’t even play games… but he LOVED it. We stayed up till 3AM to beat it! Getting the chance to do that with him again would be awesome!
New ship upgrades, new weapons and enemies and liquids and level styles and trophies and gameplay modes and what not.. could be amazing!!
Day 1 for me… I’ll probably be playing Red Dead Redemption until it comes out. :)

I’m happy to hear that there will be a pixel junk shooter 2. Unfortunately I haven’t played the first because there isn’t a demo for it on PSN. Without a demo to try, I can’t rationalize a purchase.

First off thank you Q Games for making such great games for the PSN. I have bought almost everything you guys have released on the network and plan on to continually support your studio, especially Shooter. This game has so much untapped potential, I felt like when I beat Shooter there was so many more things that could have been done with the fluid physics. I personally hope that you do make a third shooter because everything and the kitchen wont be enough for the best game idea in along time. Love the lava and ice levels and also the magnetic liquid, just brilliant.

I simply loved the art style and music in PixelJunk Shooter. Keep up the great work. Racers was pretty average. Monsters was absolutely brilliant (Have both the PS3 and PSP versions). Eden was good, but not great. Shooter was excellent!

HFB did such a great job with the Shooter soundtrack, it was just a shame that you could never turn the music up enough to hear it decently! Please, better quality audio assets this time. FLAC would be awesome, but I’d settle for 320kbit/sec HE-AAC.
I’d love to see a 2.5D sequel to Monsters that use the statues from the PixelJunk space in PlayStation Home. 3 player local co-op would be awesome, as well as online co-op with video/voice chat! :)

Glad to see more games are being added. We’d still like to see more Eden. Shooter was a great game though just too short. Personally we think the prices are very low for what you get. we’d have paid more for Eden in particular. the amount of time we’ve spent on that game more than justifies price.
Finally! I never thought I could have so much fun with little downloadable games but the Pixeljunk series really pushes the envelope and have an addictive gameplay.
But most of all, I love how they have offline/local multiplayer. There are not enough games this generation that allow 2 people to play at the same time on the same screen and to me, the console experience is all about gaming socially.

Shooter was pretty average and yet it gets a sequel. I would much rather see Pixel Junker Monsters 2. Is there any plans for pixel junk monsters 2 at all?
I love how in Pixel Junk monsteres there is alot of multiplayer goodness. With PixelJunk Monsters 2 you guys just need to make sure the coins are shared, so that both players can access them. Also it would be cool if you could play 4 player local and online play. Mabye even implement a tiki club that u can use as a last resort. I dont know how many times 1 monster has scraped through because my stupid towers lock on to the wrong guy. Make the bat take off a little amount and take awhile before you can use it again. If you are going to put this game online please make sure there is voice chat as it is essential. Co-op and vs would be cool. dont know how vs would work but it would be cool.
O and this is asking to much but a map editor would make the game EPIC. Sharing these with friends online would be the best
