This Week in PlayStation Home: New BioShock 2 and FINAL FANTASY XIII Content, Sodium Updates, and Wireless Keypad Giveaway

70 8

You’ve been asking us for weeks in the official PlayStation Home forums, in the comments section of this Blog, and on fan sites and podcasts…and we’re coming through for you like you knew we would! That’s right, Home people – this Thursday, April 22nd the long-requested FINAL FANTASY XIII costumes (along with some additional FFXIII furniture) will be released into the ever-expanding world PlayStation Home. For the guys, our friends at Square Enix have made Sazh and Snow costumes, while all you gals out there will be able to pick up the gorgeous wares of Lightning and Vanille. These clothing items will be sold as bundles in the Costumes store and include composite clothing sets, gloves, and wigs (an extra chocobo wig for Sazh will be sold separately). Peep the below visual evidence for an idea of what to expect when this truly awesome FFXIII content releases later this week.

Speaking of highly-requested content, we’ll be partying like its 1968 in Central Plaza come this Thursday when Big Daddy and Big Sister costumes (along with some other BioShock 2 virtual items) are released in PlayStation Home. We’ve snagged a few pics to give you a taste of what to expect when you add these creepy items to your collection (fun fact: Mr. Magnus Keynes – Home’s resident business guru – is too scared by BioShock 2 to even review these new items whereas our very own CydoniaX regularly schools the rest of the team in multiplayer mode and is sporting the Big Sister armor as I type).

In other news, Sodium will be receiving an update this week which will result in faster loading, new objectives being doled out by VICKIE (with new rewards, of course), and a new interactive map. As with all things in PlayStation Home, these updates come at the request of our loyal community members who regularly contribute great ideas on the official PlayStation Home Sodium forum. So, please, keep the good thoughts coming!

Ever since we released the new and improved Gamer’s Lounge last week, our nightly Featured Game parties have been hopping. And while you can always count on at least one official event being staged every single day in PlayStation Home (like this upcoming Saturday night’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2 game launching party), you can also bet that we’ll regularly break the mold and offer additional, 100% exclusive giveaways complete with the best prizes we can get our hands on. Starting this Friday, April 23rd and running to next Friday, April 30th, we’ll be giving away Wireless Keypads to 10 lucky contestants who participate in our Wireless Keypad sweepstakes. • The wireless keyboard is more inconvenient than taking the time to manually type each letter in by looking at the screen. 1) make sure its always lit enough to see the pad. 2) have fun retyping letters that won’t punch in properly even when they click 3) make sure you have baby fingers or your baby is willing to type for you.
Don’t buy this garbage and shame on you Home for thinking this is a good giveaway

  • why not a lil sister outfit???lil sister plays a big part of bio shock :P

  • @koalaateyobaby Awww, hang in there, li’l buddy, you’re just not used to new tech. Don’t give up on it, I’m sure you didn’t try texting on your phone the first time and say, “this sucks!!”, and throw it away. Just keep practicing and I’m sure, one day, you’ll be able to type on it like the rest of the world. lmao

  • If anyone wants the Big Daddy (Amazon preorder bonus) costume, contact me. I’m willing to trade mine for a PSN card, since i dont use Home that much.

  • Hey Locust, when are we going to have new clothes in Threads Store?

  • Why don’t you guys turn the Gamer’s Lounge into a techno club(dark, flashing lights, the works). Kind of like Japan where it will be the new Listen@Home and people will go there to dance and launch games.

You could make Listen@home into watch@home. Put a movie or something there, new one every week or something. You could even merge it with the area with the screen already.

  • I have a question and its why is there a change in the ps home theater its like very time I see a video its starts to play while its buffering and that is not good cause its like 4 seconds of play and then buffering and it get frustrating. Why didnt you leave it the way it was where you had to wait until the buffering was done and then you could see it.This new way doesent work cause you cant pause it and whn the video is dont and I want to see it again tyou still have to see the buffering again when you didnt have to wait for a second time in the past. And it has been like this ever since the new update came up.

  • If this theater problem keeps happening Im gonna get out of ps home and delete it from my ps3 hdd

  • Regarding Bioshock Prototype costume and other Home pre-order exclusives…HCMs and Sony are likely watching three things: 1. How many pre-orders sales were done through Amazon for those items. 2. How much do the codes for these items sell for on eBay and other to see how much non pre-order consumers are willing to pay. 3. How many unused codes are out there based on the amount produced by Sony compared to amount of codes redeemed. Then they use all those numbers to determine a price to make the item available that is not too high for some of us to consider purchasing, and not too low or too soon also that pre-order customers are not too angry. Hope this explains things!!

  • @ 60 Maybe It’s Your Connection I Never Go Through That Buffering Issue.
