  • Eh, Whats this update… to me its seem like you guys cant even deliver goodies like you sid at E3 >.>; another broken promises.

  • Maybe next week there will be better games for me like tony hawk pro skater 1-4 or DOOM

  • That suicide invitation still stands…

  • 3.0 WAS DISSAPOINTING AND NOW NO NEW AVATARS I MEAN SERIOUSLY why Sony WHY?

  • Where are the new Avatars? I dont care if I have to pay for them, just give us some.
Als, no good Dynamic Themes. Gives us creative ideas instead of “Gothic Cheerleaders” & “Anime Babes With Snipers” under Premium Themes.

  • Meh. Still waiting for Trine, Fallout DLC, Free dynamic themes/avatars, more PSone classics, and the list goes on. I know Trine isn’t due out until later September, and Bethesda is stupid, but how come there’s no free dynamic theme(s) to get us started to see how we like it. I don’t really care as much for dynamic avatars, but I’m sure quite a few people do.

The only thing slightly tempting right now is the Qore subscription since it includes admission into MAG beta.

  • I cannot believe the number of complainers we have on the Playstation side. I am serious, this is getting very annoying.

    WHERE ARE PREMIUM AVATARS?
WHERE IS FALL OUT 3 DLC?
    WHERE IS THIS
    WHERE IS THAT.

First off, that is Bethesda fault for not releasing the DLC. You cannot possibly blame Sony for any of this, as you gits do all the time. Premium avatars were announced to be long after the 3.00 update. Watch the video.
Dynamic themes are $2.99. Get over it, nothing is always free. You should be grateful Sony is even offering a free network service. Do you know how much bandwith that costs to host servers that 25 million people use? Yet you degrade the Playstation brand continuously.

Wheres Trine? I dont know. It is the first week of September. Not everything dated in September will come rushing out the same day, the same store update.

  • @4, No one cares about Piyotama, stop asking about it.

@28, the enthusiasm you had for your PS3 resided solely on some avatars? Exactly how big of a loser are you?

Anyways, nothing really for me on the PS3 side but I am stoked to see Patapon being released digitally. Now I can play that before I go on to Patapon 2.

  • Damn, was hoping for Fallout 3 DLC. Oh well. Maybe next week.

  • @40 Odium_Generis
Why don’t you do yourself a favor and stop visiting the blog if you do want to see people complain. And way to go telling others to go kill themselves because of your stupidity, why don’t you take your own advice.

  • NBA 2K10: Draft Combine ($4.99)

Anyone remember the good ol’ days when this stuff was actually included with the game? ;)

  • Create Japanese PSN account, download free Africa theme, install. Easy peasy, google the video if you don’t know how to setup a Japanese account.

  • COME ON GUYS WHERE THE HELL IS TMNT TURTLES IN TIME RESHELLED! dynamics themes are cool thought like most others i was hoping for some avatars i been rocking the same ones since launch:(

  • I bought my ps3 for my xmb. Not for the games, videos, music, or anything like that! I just stare at my XMB all day because I have no life like that. Yet after 3.00 the icons are to big! Why Sony, WHY!? THIS HAS TOTALLY AFFECTED YOUR CUSTOMER. WHY DID YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE ICONS BIGGER, NOW I FEEL LIKE A PRESCHOOLER. DONT YOU JUST LOVE HOW I MAKE UP PATHETIC EXCUSES.

My god, you guys are worse then the 360 racial spewing 8-year-olds.

  • its sad that we live in the greatest country in the world and cant get our updates up and running by the time people get home from work. i used to look forward to thursday but now all i do is find my self cussing scea because they’re lazy

  • UPDATE 3.0 SUCKS!!!

  • Another wack-a** update.

Weak updates for the PS1 Classics and PSP.

(sigh) What is the problem, SECA? Is it that hard to get the most requested PS1 classics by us fans? What the hell?

Do you guys not care about your PSP customers? From the looks of it, the PSP is going to be a bust due to lack of good content on both the PS1 Classics and PSP Legacy.

  • I love the LBP dynamic theme, I personally think it was worth my little $3 because I could watch Sackboy run all day. You should also consider making some to tie into movies, music bands, and anime. Just sayin’, there’s a lot of room for awesome in there.

Also, why are the JP PSN users playing Resident Evil 2 and 3 and Vagrant Story on their PS3/PSP when we’re just getting crap games that no one really wants to play? Is it that hard to get permissions for the good stuff here? I’d be happy to plunk down money for PS classics like Parasite Eve, RE2, Vagrant Story, even Smackdown. That’s a gold mine that your American division is ignoring completely.

  • Can we get a god of war dynamic theme with rolling clouds and lightning in the background.

  • Instead of insulting SCEA how about you give them constructive feedback.

  • At three dollars a piece, I want to be able to preview the dynamic themes before I buy. The Pain one is the largest in size but that doesnt make it the best one…

  • Every week, I come to this blog to remind myself just how pathetic gamers are. It’s great.

People whining about little pictures that they can put next to their name so that they might have be unique in one small way in the world (even though thousands of people will have that same new picture).

People whining about some game not being released even though other gaming news sites have reported why those games have been delayed and when they’re expected to be released.

People whining that the release happened “too late” and then whining that Sony is lazy because they don’t do things according to their personal time schedule.

Every week, I’m reminded just how sad and pathetic you gamers are and it’s why I know I’m not one of you. I play video games, but I’m certainly not a gamer.

  • @70.

Your sentence made me smile. That was funny, for some reason.

  • ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Where’s CRITTER CRUNCH!!!!! I can’t believe it’s still not here… I thought since it was on Pulse it would be here this week… *tear* My dreams are shattered………… : (

  • Nice diversity in the update as usual. Good stuff.

And as usual, complainers begging for trifle things(imo).

I feel so proud to be a part of the PSN community. :|

  • @65

You’re right, not only is SCEA lazy, but they F**KING SUCK as well.

I can assure you that the more SCEA ignores its fans and provide us with s**t like this, they’ll be out of business, hell crash and burn with in a year. Maybe sooner, if they don’t get their s**t together and straight.

  • My mom always said, if ya can’t say something nice… so:

Thanks for the update Grace! I already have a good chunk of the titles re-released today in Capcom’s pack, so I’ll look forward to next week’s update and thanks for coming through on your statement last week that it would come in on time for Thursday.

    – RG

  • Common 3 weeks with crappy store update, common, us launch the 3.00 but no the new avatars? very disappointing

  • @76.

You’re complete ignorance tells me not to argue with you. The fact that you used profanity in your post tells me that you are not worth arguing with. Let me just say this: You dont know anything, and stop acting like you do. Oh, and I dont know either. All I know is that people are buying PS3 Slims like crazy, and you cant have what you want always. Grow up.

  • Tip the truck!!!!

  • Getting new free and premium avatars up on the PSN should be at the top of the to-do list right now. It’s been over a year since we got any new avatars. It’s just embarrassing. I’m sick of looking at the same ugly avatars. Please rectify this, thank you.

  • @70

Name one time that SCEA actually cared and listened to its customers and loyal fans, because I can’t.

  • Maybe you guys could throw us a dynamic theme to show us what we’re missing out on before charging us $3 a pop? There aren’t even previews of these things and they’re just animated background, right?

It’s a neat idea, but at three bucks I don’t think I’ll be biting anytime soon.

  • Cool Boarders? Sometimes I worry about you Sony.

  • @58

Stop hating on Piyotama. I’m sure that you only like shooters… God knows you come into GameStop every week buying the same game constantly… For god sakes try something new. And why are you being so mean? Your issues are annoying.

  • Glad to see an update on Thursday. Even more glad to see a new PSP download, and an upload with a PSP Legacy. But why Patapon? The second one is already up, and only a few dollars more!

Again, I do have to wonder where the demos are. The main reason I got Dissidia was that I had already tried it. Soul Caliber? Motorstorm? Heck, I’d love to see one when Eye of Judgement comes up.

Thanks for Fate, though; glad to see another good Capcom game come along.

  • Here we go…. I don’t usually comment on the store updates much but…..

    1. Where’s the premium avatars Sony? Actually I could really care less, I like the one I have but to advertise them like you did and then not have any on the store update? Who the hell is in charge of this and how does this sound ok?

    2. $2.99 – Guess what this is for? Got it yet? Yeah an overpriced theme. Are you kidding me? I can buy the add on for Magic Ball for $2.99 and get a ton more out of it then a theme. Those wondering where the free theme is at, its on the Japanese store, its the Africa one. Google it, some site posted about it before.

    3. PS1 Classic = X:Com UFO Defense. Amazing game, instant seller. I bought it off Steam for a great deal, actually got numerous ones for like $4.99 on sale or something. C’mon Sony, make it happen.

    4. Patapon = $15.00? I’m 99.9% sure I bought it new at Walmart for $10 on UMD. Charging more for a digital copy? IF, and I mean IF, its true you are crazy.

  • @80 – I lol’d.

  • WHERE ARE OUR PREMIUM AVATARS!?!?!

Grace Chen replied on September 3, 2009 at 4:32 pm

We don’t have specific timing on these yet, but they will come.

    Grace,

I’m not trying to be rude, but that not good enough. The system is coming up on its 3RD year and we still have the SAME crap that launched with the PSN.

    Problems have solutions.

  • 5. For everyone asking about Trine, go ask the people who are making it. Thats where your answer is.
    6. I had more to post but in honor of the Sony way, and stuff listed above I’ll stop here, leaving you “anticipating more”. Right.

PS – Don’t take this the wrong way, I’m a die-hard Sony fan, I’ve talked 4 people into buying PS3’s but c’mon Sony wth?

    Thx

Oh and I had to reply to my reply because like the PS3 chat option you don’t allow enough characters. Rock on.

  • Will we ever see the PSOne classics love Japan sees? I just want to play final fantasy tactics again. That’s all.

  • Another terrible week of updates. Some more PS1 classic RPGs would be nice. Also, I noticed this weeks update was late again, at least I can see it wasn’t because you guys were adding anything decent. Too bad.

  • I want some dynamic themes and premium avatars that aren’t based on gaming. Like a busy city skyline that changes according to the time for a theme. Be creative. Get people who aren’t game devs to make dynamic themes. Getting 20+ a week eventually would be nice.

I want to see even more avatars. Ones based on music artists, sports teams, TV shows, movies, lifestyles, cars, etc. I know you guys can get these.

Now pricing. I hope avatars will cost less than a dollar and I don’t mean .99 cents. They should be .49 cents each at the most. I think the dynamic themes are overpriced but when there’s some good ones I like I’ll be okay with it.

Finally, dynamic themes and even avatars need a preview option. I’m not paying for a theme if I can’t see it first. Give us a video preview of dynamic themes and a large photo preview for avatars.

Anyway, I hope you guys read this. Thanks.

  • I always find it funny when the excuse is that you have to use something that is official. People use GECK and CS to make great mods, better than anything Beth can make and it’s free. Yet when we ask for simple things from a company they charge us for it. I’m sure if given the proper tools that anybody tech savvy out that could make better dynamic themes for free.

Why do dynamic themes need a dev kit? Why can’t devs release it for free? Seriously it’s not that hard to make. You probably make them in your free times anyways. I think I’ve seen the LBP theme somewhere in a video before so it can’t be that hard. I bet they’ll charge us for cross game chat and cross game invites and custom soundtracks to be universal.

  • Can we have a demons souls dynamic theme please

  • Oh one more thing..

    STOP WITH THE PAIN UPDATES!

You know maybe have them work on something else, like a new game?

Stop milking the Pain cow, it’s dead.

  • Hopefully we get some dynamic themes aren’t just Rated E for Everyone. A God of War III, Killzone 2 theme would be nice. So far all we have are themes for my wife.

  • Want more Avatars!
    Want more free dynamic themes
Or even better, dynamic themes from games like MGS, wipeout, Batman, GTA, Uncharted and Anime series like Code Geass, Death Note, Elfen Lied, Hellsing Ultimate, Gungrave, Planetes and more. Also like dynamic themes with girls, anime and real.
Themes with just some cool designs would also be great.
please make some :D Because apparently they can’t be home made.

  • hehehe

I said on the weekend post that releasing 3.0 withouth new avatars would make a backslash.

Thats the problem! when the “other” company makes new features, they release on day one.(a good marketing move since the hype build up make for some extraordinary sales) Sonys approach is announce now deliver later.

also, sony wont tell you the release date, but avatars are controlled by Japan and so far they are set to release on October so dont get to excited yet guys.

  • I’d love to see a Syracuse University theme; unlike the other premium themes it would be an instant purchase for me.

    Just a simple request.
