Covered in this week’s reading list: Xi, MLB, and DLC.
Downloadable content announcements have sparked new conversation about Killzone 2 and SRPG gem Valkyria Chronicles, which is a good thing.
Read anything good this week and don’t see it on our list? Please share your links with the class in the comments below. Or, y’know, copy-and-paste lists of demands meant for people who didn’t write this post. You know who you are! :-)

If there is speculation that a big exclusive is coming to the PS3 like KH3 or any other system selling exclusive, Sony aren’t going to outright deny it are they.
It would make no sense for Sony to come out and say “no, this big game is not coming to our system/or does not exist/or we have no comment” because it could potentially lose PS3 sales from the people who are convinced that the speculation is actually true.
Jeff people are made becuase you don’t answer properly. Like for one instance, someone calculated a few days ago how many people had the same avatars because of the lack of avatars. He asked nicely for some info on some new avatars and if they are being worked on and your response is “nice math skillz”
Basically your smart [DELETED] comments and you [DELETED] around is hurting the community.
We all ask is for some simple info and crying out for some knowledge.
All we ask is that you please acknowledge us and that our requests are being heard.
Is that too hard to ask?
So for one, please be mature and acknowledge this post for my sake and the rest of the community.
You understand where I am coming from?
Thanks.
You must shrug at weekend posts. Not only are you having to work on weekends and spend part of easter (and your first kids easter from what I’m seeing on the comments), but the weekend comments are typically the rudest and most ignorant (thats not offensive it just means they don’t know, too many people are ignorant of the meaning of ignorance :P ). I feel sorry for you :/
“Or, y’know, copy-and-paste lists of demands meant for people who didn’t write this post.”
I laughed hard when I read that. :-D

@Jeff – Since we are talking about reliable sources, I just read something from Joystiq. I think we all know that they are a reliable source..

And they are coming this week to the blog :D I smell something fishy! lol
oh and great week Jeff! Much PSP love. I appreciate it.
@43 Zonnes
What happens with readers is that *most of the time* they seek for rumors from other sources. Than instead of wait for the PlayStation.Blog to release the informations.
Then they start complaining *here* without knowing that the PlayStation.Blog has nothing to do with their misunderstanding or misreading. Beside, unofficial sites are really strong sources to create rumors that might confuse readers.
That is why I read them, but don’t even pay attention to them. Because is really annoying when you see people saying “This site said….”
When is not even official!
y did they lock the thread in the forums? now im forced 2 give my suggestions here.

Are you serious!?
Do you guys think anybody will be interesting to put their *Name and About Me* information?
Happy Easter to all the readers and writers of the playstation blog.
Perhaps a reader poll could be placed onto the site to let the readers decide the fate of the ignorant/rude xmb post spammers (also for other indiscretions).
@58
its a social networking concept… fbook myspace orkut etc… they all have that… even youtube etc…
@59 knight_spg
Hey, is a good idea to have a poll in the side of the Blog (I hope Jeff takes care f this). But in my *opinion*, I will like to see a poll with at least 2 features we want to have in our PS3s in the next firmware update…
However, if this happends; then this Blog will be filled with nosense comments.
@lcmnick,
Hey! I am not saying Sony should outright say the *rumored* games are not coming out on PS3, and I wasn’t specifically talking about Sony smashing every rumor, because some of them turn out to be true, like the one sent by an insider to D+ Magazine about LBP on PSP and MotorStorm Arctic Edge.
What I am saying here, some disturbing (and annoying might I add) rumors are surfacing from unreliable sources, which most people take them as facts, because some of these sources just confirm the “rumors”… Great example is the supposed Killzone 2 Superbowl Ad, everyone thought it was real because Hiphopgamer CONFIRMED it, and it was talked about for a long time and it didn’t happen, but if Sony officials denied the rumor, no one would pay attention to it.
My point here is Sony should just CLARIFY some obvious stuff, rather than commenting on every rumor posted regarding PS3/PSP.
Why doesn’t the psp get a new update we’ve waited too long and its always security updates can it be something more important this time
Would be nice to hear some news on GT5, and how the real game is coming along.
Anything other than more competitions lol.
Jeff,
But if the responses were heard loud and clear, and the community felt like its not ignored every update, and on the blog responses, you wouldn’t have any spam. For example. If people complained that no one on earth asked for In game text chat, thats CENSORED, and limited characters, it would be nice to see “oh we have this thing called internal research, and text chat with heavy censorship in between people on your friends list was at the top of that list! Not Voicechat!” Then everyone here would tell the trolls/spammers to go read that blog post. And it would be the end of it.There is a severe disconnect between people that do complain,and people that know whats going on. Saying “we hear you loud and clear” is what has been said since the launch.People will always complain about something that could have been done in a better way,thats life. With the updates the PS3 gets, none of the top 5 requests are ever pulled off.
I’d be shocked to find out that Sony did a study and found the 18-35 demographic wanted a censored limited text chat. If you tried to appease the people complaining about XMB with a simple blog, it would be it. The really irrational trolls would be slaughtered by us regulars.
@TRIX_BOL (#54),
I totally understand you, and I agree with you, we wouldn’t have much problem if people were paying attention.
I personally don’t take anything seriously aside from the official news posted here. And to be honest with you, it’s quite easy to tell the complete fake stories, but some people just don’t like to live in reality, which is sad.
Anyway, I just wanted to pitch my idea here, nothing more. I am actually more than glad to see that Sony takes PlayStation.Blog seriously, and to see them realize “consumers love being able to interact with developers” as Chris Eden of Sony says.
Keep up the good work, Sony!
Hey Jeff….Happy Passover,
I have a question about Crackle. I’m in Canada and Crackle does not work on the PS3 but it may be because it is IP blocked like HULU etc.
Can you confirm that Crackle works in the US?
If it doesn’t work even in the states…is it something that you, as the Social Media Manager, have input to SCEA and the Crackle/SPE team on?
(for readers here that don’t know, Crackle, Inc., a Sony Pictures Entertainment Company, is a multi-platform next-generation video entertainment network that distributes digital content including original short form series and full-length traditional programming from Sony Pictures’ vast library of television series and feature films.)
I\’m not sure, has anyone else tried this?
Truthfully, I\’ve got as much influence on Crackle\’s player as I do on the questions they ask on Jeopardy (Sony Pictures Studios Television).
But I can try and track someone down and let them know their player isn\’t working. We\’ve been more focused on YouTube compatiblity/features.
