Today we’re announcing the expansion of our closed beta test for PlayStation Home to begin at the end of the month.
Later today, the PLAYSTATION Store will be updated with a PlayStation Home theme. By downloading the theme, users are submitting an application to join the PlayStation Home Beta test community. We will be using a variety of criteria including activity on the PLAYSTATION Network to determine eligibility for the Beta community. Existing beta testers have automatically qualified to be part of the expanded beta.
We’re really excited about this milestone and want our most loyal fans to be a part of the evolution of PlayStation Home.
In Europe, SCEE is also beginning their expanded closed beta, directly targeting consumers who have been most active on PLAYSTATION Network and PLAYSTATION Store. SCEE will be in email contact with their PSN audience very shortly.

Nice! Been a sony playstation supporter since day 1 and looking forward to trying home out. Besides the great games home is the main reason why i bought a ps3. I’m very active on the playstation store since i buy everything. But since i can’t login into the blog using my ps3 for some reason, i post on the playstion forums. Might seem lazy not to use my computer but i use my ps3 for everything and can’t make my self log off lol.

now when you say active in playstation network…is that like whoever buys the most from the PS store, or those who play the most online, such as Call of Duty 4? and is there anyway we can pay to be included in the beta (huh a lil something for you Jack =] )hahaha im playing. seriously, i want to be included and will do what it takes
First of all, it is true that this is one of the best looking and practical themes available on PSN, great job!
Second, I wanted to say that I am not at all worried about my chances of getting into the expanded beta because the lovely and talented Noel and I share an affinity for the same sun god ;-) Jack is awesome too!
And of course I’m not just saying this because I desperately want in on the beta, no way!

i read thru most of the comments posted up, but i didn’t see how would Sony would select their beta testers from people who submitted an application from the theme download. if their was a comment about this and i’ve must of missed it can you point it out to me. thx
im really looking forward to this and lbp, i play online all the time but i don’t buy from the ps store… yet causei have no money i hope that alot of people can get in so there’s more chance of me getting in

when should we expect and e-mail if we got selected?
This is for any one who is ask,ing to themselfs when they will be notified if they got into the beta. In Japan the beta was released before here in the US, the beta there started receiving admissions in July 31 until August 11. That is 12 days, so this means that 12 days from the 8th we might be receiving the beta… of cource there is no news of this, this is just me speculating.

I just rebought Uncharted so that I can start getting trophies…Boy did I get some cool achiev…? Opps..! Trophies today I love this game so it was worth the rebuy.lol
I already have a silver trophy. I am really wanting some of the rare Black trophies and the ever so hard to get Platnium trophy.
for this little but very important update I have not turned my 360 on in days…OMG don’t let my Live buddies hear me..lmao.
I can’t help it I love both systems and I love the fidelity of the HD that comes from the PS3 the visuals just have a real “sharp” feel to them, over the 360’s visuals. But anyways I love both systems but Once LBP and HOME launch my friends are gonna have to get a PS3 to find me hanging out in my virtual apartment just partying..lol

I have many hours online under my old user name but I haven’t logged as many hours online under my new user name, and my new user name is the one I downloaded the home theme onto. Does that affect my considertation for the beta.

All i can say is we all need to be thankful for the chance to participate in this beta, i hope they choose carefully and that whoever they choose is able to log enough time to help us all get home alot faster.As for me if anyone from home who chooses who gets in reads this id like them to know that i am physically disabled so i have alot more time available than most i am 30 years old and a very unbiased person.If i dont get in and anyone of my fellow bloggers get in congrats to them and please work hard so we all can enjoy what i predict will be one of the nails in X-Nots coffen….lol
To all of the people who keep calling Home a game Please stop , its not a game, it is a online social networking community which allows people the opportunity to meet online with lots of people so that you might find people of like minds who share the same interest in games, it is also a place to just hang out while waiting to see what game you and your friends might wanna play, calling it a game is an insult to all the hard work that has been put in creating this.

if you are chosen then you will be emailed at the email address used when you created your psn account.
To Jack or Noel and the rest of the psn team and home team, i want to thank you for all your hard work over the last year and half, your the main reason why PS3 is kicking X-Nots tail, there were a whole lot of people who tried like heck to throw you guys under the bus, but the true PS faithful have waited patiently knowing that you would not dissapoint, so once again thank you all for your hard work and dedication in making PS3 the true leader of the next-gen consoles.

I don’t know if I am reading into this, but just to clarify… SCEE Europe qualification is based entirely on PSN and PS Store activity, where as all of us in North America (including Canada ‘eh) are judged by PSN activity and other. I am guessing that the other criteria would be things like the Store, Blogs (much like this), and GAP??
