Hi, everyone. As many of you know, we released PS3 firmware update v2.40 last week, but had to take it offline temporarily because, for a limited number of users, the XMB wouldn’t display after the update was installed. We’ve been able to fix the problem, and I’m happy to report that firmware update v2.41 will be released shortly.
We want to extend our apologies to the PlayStation community for any inconvenience. Now we’ll be looking forward to seeing everyone online and racking up those trophies!
Great work on the fix…Never had issues with 2.40 but 2.41 seems to run smoother and response is quicker on the XMB.

@604 im pretty sure only Super Star Dust HD is the only game that has trophies so far…so you wont be able to get trophies if u dunt have that game

though im not sure, but if you have Super StartDust HD and get the patch i believe when you go to trophies (remember need latest patch for SSDHD) there will already be trophies there but there not unlocked yet. They will give you a brief description on wat you did and how to unlock it. But im not sure

We need that gamerprofile card updated, takes ages to load trophies and level number, it’s faster to message the person and ask their info rather than to look at their profile

people still have problems after updating to 2.41.
i know i do.
my bluetooth headset refuses to work after 2.4, and 2.41 DID NOT fix anything relating to those problems.
i’ve been given the run around by customer service, and they told me to open up some ports….which didnt work.
Would it be possible for you to fix this in the next update?
i mean, i can wait a month with barely functioning bluetooth, but no bluetooth now that i have in game XMB. what a trade off.
I wonder if the new tab in the profiles for the recently played players section is a hint that the api for game invites was integrated for developers to support in 2.41?
If someone could tell me what the information part actually does? For call of duty4 and burnout its blank right now but for hot shots golf it looks like it tells you what server the person was playing on.
If so this is great news for future updates as developers now have the opportunity of notifying the xmb what server players are on meaning they can start supporting before the feature becomes adopted and you wont have a flood of complaints on this blog :D :P.

That movie is whack. All the 9 11 stuff has been debunked. Video was made by some kids in the midwest. Wont touch on the jesus stuff, but the 9 11 stuff was debunked by Popular Science on the theories about the conspiracy. Also on the part where they “say” they found the remaining people alive…there are about 12 common last names in the arab world so you are going to get tons of people named the same.
Now after debunking you, lets talk about games.
2.4 worked fine for me. so is 2.41..
Trophies are sweet so far, but of course once more games are supported it will be better.

What is so special about trophies…
2.40 worked for me (or at least from what I can tell, I haven’t used my BT headset since updating)since day 1.
The only suggestion I can make, which I was hoping would make it to 2.41, is moving the battery icon down a bit so its not over lapping the time.
From a design point of view I think it makes sense and I have seen others vocalize the same sentiment.

But i still have a problem when going into the PS Store. It pauses at the wave longer than it used to before 2.40. I also noticed that when you go onto in-game XMB, when you go onto your name, it says you arent playing any games when in fact i clearly am. I assume my friends can see im playing but its just a little thing there to be fixed.

Thankfully the 2.40 update has been working good for me except for one incidence when I was quitting the game ‘Metal Gear Solid 4’ to the XMB, and suddenly my PS3 shut off, with the green light still on. That was the only problem I experienced, and naturally, I blamed it on the 2.40 update.
Now, when the 2.41 update is released, would I still have to update my console?
