Anyone here have any freezing issues with GTAIV?
upon installation or any time afterwards?
I have the best model PS3- the 60-gig launch model- and I haven’t had any troubles at all!
(and I have been playing almost nonstop- even took off work! only take time to eat and sleep and see what this week’s update was all about!)
I think maybe this is Microsoft’s evil way of media sabotage! It HAS been reported for both consoles…
Hopefully Rockstar is working on it..
I really am interested to see if this rumor is real or not!

not a bad update, downloaded echronome demo months ago when it came onto the jap store, i was addicted so of caorse i bought the game, just finished making a level…how do i upload it onto network or does it automatically get transmitted to the creators?

IMHO This is yet another good update. Though to please the advid PSone lovers I think the fallowing would be great games to give the PS Store:

If you can get these on PSN then maybe many of your hard core fans will be happy. Not all of them mind you but many. I might even buy Final Fantasy VII just to see what all the fus is about that it’s like the greatest RPG ever made.
Please add more Eye Toy games to the PS Store. I love my Eye Toy yet there is not that many out there. Plus any chance of more full blown games like Eye of Judgement.
Also is there any chance of PS3 systems to start selling the Eye Toy with the system. Because I for one think if it did there would be third party members that make games that use the Eye Toy.
Because looking at the Wii and how many great games are made with the Wiimote in mind are great. But if Sony started selling the PS Eye with the PS3 then I could see some really awesome games come out with the PS Eye in mind.
Also is there any chance the web will get an update. I really do not use the online for web surfing but if it could get a patch to make it better that would be great.

Like some people know here I defend both consoles because I own both and if you think this is a bad update check the other console… anyway this is a good update and if everybody are waiting a PSone in every store update you are really bad… at this point you know what to expect.
Not bad.. dark sector was fun to try out… came out kind of late though… smart to release games before they come out, you know.. but i kind of enjoyed… i would have liked a echochrome theme. I’m a theme and game demo person.

I agree with mywhitenoise! I’ve been awaiting the PSN Cards for a VERY long time! (They’re my ONLY option to purchasing items off of the Playstation store…)
I got excited when you said that they were shipping, so I called my local Gamestop, and I asked when they were coming, and they said that they weren’t even in their computers!
I’m getting anxious here! lol
I thought that this update was… okay…
I liked the videos, but the Dark Sector demo was “eh”…

Fantastic update! The demo of echochrome was so charming I purchased it this morning.
Sony, I love you, I’m going to attempt to leave my H8 at my side during this post, because it is of a critique nature.
EchoChrome, while a great game, and concept for the average gamer to toss some time away, or get deeply involved in making their own puzzles, etc… Is again a very casual gaming experience, It has absolutely nothing that pulls me in, I know I’m not alone in this, My EchoChrome will get a few hours of play here, and a couple there… maybe a few 10 minute random moments every now and then, I suppose what I’m trying to say is, where are the mmorpgs, the psone classics, the content that had linking stories, like that office comedy thing you all had us excited about. Or maybe Action&Storyline original content… I’m starting to see a pattern, and the pattern is a little casual gaming heavy, I love the games and all, but we need more involving experiences, or something with some solid substance to it…
now bring us Resident Evil 1 and 2. Japan is getting all the good ones.

MMORPGS take massive amounts of time and energy to make, the agency as well as a few more are in the works but it wont be for a while
action, storyline games are hardly the 10 dollar game, these games are designed to be casual core as i’d like to call it, little bit of casual type play for the core audience

Every update I come on this blog to get the full detail of what is released and Every update there are people complaining about the update. Did some of you ever think that maybe… Just maybe SCE Doesnt have to make these updates? Also some of you need to realize that SONY doesnt make these Games/Trailers/Music/Videos/WallPapers
Its 3rd party companies of the PS that make all of the stuff you people complain about. SONY publishes what ever things that the 3rd party companies make. And lastly… Europeians that are complaining about nothing coming out in their store… If you can understand english and speak it then why don’t you just set your accounts to North America and shut up about it?

I know somewhat what your going throw.
But it only happened only 1 time on me
but not that bad for me it only froze up once.
To be on the safe side what i did I Recovered from PS3 recovery tool
ON a External HDD and did a full HDD format and then restored all my – Pictures, Music, Games, Saves and stuff from A-Z.
the Format is what took the longest for a 60GB HDD it took over 2 hours to complete what i did was do it before bed and then i woke up and restored my files and that took 45mins to put all my stuff back on!
Hardcore gamers love to go back and play through their old games, So those of you tearing strips out of people who want to voice their opinions about the lack of classics on the US-PSN, when it’s so easy to compare it to the 100+ psOne classics on the Japanese-PSN, or the 20-30 on the EU-PSN, Coramoor… Are you sure you’re not just trying to find a reason to tear a strip outta’ me, since I tore a strip out of you for something trivial prior to this?
I chose ps3 to play in the PlayStation Universe, I can’t warrant my purchase to any given category, ie. ps3 games with “Wicked Graphics” or ps2 backwards compatibility, or psOne backwards compatibility, or integrated PSP usability, or blu ray movies, or Web Browsing, OS installing, linux/hacking, divx.avi/mp4/mp3&other file format useage… I came to voice my opinion about the casual games, sure I didn’t have to, but I wanted to, there is almost literally a ton of games to choose from on the PSN, so I buy as many of them as I can, and the current trend in the North American PSN, is a continued lack of psOne classics, especially in comparison to other region’s PSNs, gimme’ a break buddy, I did nothing wrong, and nor’ was there anything wrong with my previous statement, please if you feel the need to troll go to a more troll friendly environment.

Thank you for continued dedication to the PSN, and your core consumers, We appreciate that you listen to us, and acknowledge our feedback, no company… and I mean ‘no -BUSY AS HELL ELECTRONICS GIANT-Company’ other than you takes such time, and consideration for their fans.
A lot of people rant and rave about what is/isn’t on the PSN, in fact every fan is guilty of it at some point, myself included, I hope you can look past it all, and just try to see that it is their opinions, and dedication that lead them so rigidly to want to help to improve on the greatest system on the market, and even when they seem really ticked off, it’s probably 9/10, they just don’t feel like they’ve been heard, even if they have been.
This blog has been a truly great addition to the PlayStation Universe, and is another thing we PlayStation Hardcores shouldn’t take for granted, like everything else since November 2006, it’s a gift to a gamer’s way of life.
So uh… Thank You!

Usually I don’t respond to moronic post but I couldn’t resist. If Sony chose not to go the digital distribution route than you might as well said goodbye to the PlayStation brand cause the Xbox & the Xbox Live market would of dominated the whole digital content market and the PlayStation 3 would of magically *poof* on out of store shelves everywhere as fast as you can say “Ken Kutaragi” 3xs.
All the exclusives that the PS3 had would of gone to the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation brand would of crumbled to obscurity.
Last, I don’t think the PlaySation 3 is the best console on the market today, but I’m definitely a fan of some of their exclusive titles they have. Either way, I support all consoles and support DLC when its good or nostalgic in which case the Virtual Console is doing magnificently well compared to the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. The PSN market seriously lacks the classic PlayStation games that we once enjoyed which is unfortunate but who cares, right?
if they can get some new stuff for elder scroll4 oblivion in the PSN store it would be even better.
