  • Why so late at night?

    ;(

  • The Last Guardian, yeah!

    • i think unfortunately that this project is doomed and will never see the light of the day , i really hope i’m wrong, but it’s been announced since the reveal os the ps3 xD … this part i dislike about sony is to show you stuff that would be released 5 years later or never… like where are the witness, no man’s sky ? and so much more ?? it’s been nearly 3 years now …

    • No Man’s Sky was shown at the PlayStation Experience event in Las Vegas 6 months ago.

I’d rather have a delayed game that a buggy rushed one.

    • I happen to saw a rumour in today’s Metro newspaper.

    • They pretty much HAVE to atleast show it this year, or they’ll lose any relevance left..

  • Yeah a little for us Euro guys hope thats gonna change

  • “3am CET”

Sleep is for the weak eh?

    • Everything will be recorded so you can watch it after you wake up or when you get home from school/work.

    • Yes indeed – we’ll have a repeat of the stream, individual trailers and a highlight reel ready for you in time for breakfast ;)

    • Fred, any idea for a url that will take me straight to the video of the press conference Tuesday evening? I want to watch the conference WITHOUT running into any spoilers but as always, that’s not simple.

    • Yeah I’d love to know how to get to the video of the stream without seeing any of the announcements as well. I’m introducing my friend to watching E3 for the first time!

    • Well… screw the sleep, you won’t be the only one that day =D

  • Parappa the Rapper 3, yeah :)
I miss Jack though. Last year Shawn Layden just didn’t feel right. He said things (that may have not even been about a videogame) and then deliberately paused to wait for the crowd to start unnecessarily cheering. Rather making some game announcements to get the crowd actually excited, he was trying to ride the wave of positivity that PlayStation had been on since E3 2013 (although that Uncharted 4 debut was definitely worth screaming about toward the end :) ). I hope that’s not the case this year.

  • Yeah last yeah kinda felt like Sony thought they didn’t have to try after 2013. Hope they pull their finger out this year as I’m sure Microsoft are still gunning to make up the ground.

  • Will there be megaton this time?

  • If by megaton you mean megafailure such as Final Fantasy Type-0 HD which ended up as a massive blunder.

    Than yes.

    • Edit: that was supposed to be reply to @mad8vad

      sorry

    • I don’t think Type-0 was announced at E3. And I wouldn’t call an HD version of an old PSP game a failure when it’s sold 1 million copies in under a month (that’s more then what the original sold).

    • @European_Gamer
Just like always you try to shine to much…

Whatever you may think… Type-0 HD WAS announced at E3 2014 you can check news on blog (10th June)

As always you are saying things which are simply not true.

Game SHIPPED 1 million copies within first month not sold. Huge difference. And you can still buy copy of game from the first shippment… nearly every shop has still version with demo of FF XV included (proof that it comes from first batch)

So aye. It was failure. A huge one.

Game still didn’t manage to beat PSP result. So please be quiet, every time you try to shine with your whiteknighting the only thing you show is your ignorance.

    • Clearly a troll. Should be banned.

  • I hate that it’s so late again. :( Try make them change the time next year to a nicer one. As much as I’d love to watch it as it happens, it’s too late for me so I will have to settle for the following morning. If there’s a little hint of The Last Guardian is happening at E3, then the excitement may just help keep me awake!

    • We’ll try to make our NA game media briefings earlier in the day for you if you promise to try and get premier league games to kick off a couple hours later. Deal?

  • Please don’t forget the existences of ps vita this time…

  • Fingers crossed for more solid details on Kingdom Hearts 3.

Failing that, generally I can’t wait for more on:

    Fallout 4,
    J-Stars Victory VS,
    Until Dawn,
    Ratchet and Clank,
    Just Cause 3,
    Mad Max.

There is probably a lot I forgot, but those come immediately to mind.

  • And in other related news: Everything that was supposed to be announced at E3 has already been announced over these past two weeks. Enjoy the show!

    • Seriously though. So much stuff has already been announced, even to the point where I can’t imagine a lot of things being announced at any of the press-conferences. Although rumors are going around that The Last Guardian will be re-revealed at E3, so that would be huge! But I’ve been burnt too many times to get my hopes up for that… Also, it seems like Driveclub PS Plus Edition is nearly finished, so that might get announced and launched on the day of the Sony conference. Feel free to take a look at the video below that started this rumor:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIL3cuac2jg

Other than that, I’m personally hoping for God of War 4 to be revealed, and maybe a couple of other games as well. But to be honest, after Ratchet and Clank (PS4) gameplay was already revealed yesterday (which is what I was really looking forward to at E3), I’m not sure there’s a whole lot for me to be excited about at E3… Oh well, let’s hope for the best. :)

    • So, more time to talk about upcoming releases for Vita, and about plans for localizing more Yakuza games (Zero, Ishin, Kenzan, 1+2 HD). Right? Right?

    • @HeigeStagBeetle That would be awesome! :D But sadly, I doubt Vita will even be mentioned outside the probable indie-sizzle-reel. Other than that, I also have a bad feeling we’ll be seeing a lot of third-party stuff, like Starwars Battlefront, Destiny and maybe Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. I hope to be proven wrong though. Maybe it will be a conference filled with first-party game announcements, tons of gameplay for said games, and lots of love for Vita, as well as Yakuza news. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see :)

  • Can’t wait for some info regarding Yakuza series, Shenmue series (yeah, I’m an optimist), The Last Guardian, Valkyria Chronicles, Until Dawn, any rare and expensive even for used copies PSX/PS2 classics finally coming to PSN.

Actually that’s the only conference I’m going to watch – for the rest summaries will do just fine.

  • I just want to hear about Morpheus and Uncharted, everything else is just a bonus.

  • I just want PS1 and PS2 classics on PS4.

    • Local software emulation is possible, as PS1 support was included in a Vita update.

I won’t have none of that streaming lark.

  • =D cant wait =D

  • E3 is better than Christmas

  • I want to see Mark Cerny in a wacky shirt.

  • it’s my birthday during E3 and i want a spectacular show with lots and lots of surprises! :P

  • All I to see want is No Man’s Sky, but it’s not on the list. I’m also hoping for a surprise preview of Gran Turismo for the PS4. If one these is shown, I’m happy. If both are shown…. awesome!

  • Can you guys please already make support for external hard drives? I’m excited about the games and I’m already out of space and it’s easy just to do the external instead of taking the ps apart.

  • Couldn’t agree more and it would be a great announcement for E3 :D

  • I guess project morpheus would be given more attention on the show, but hope there would be some love shown towards vita and looking forward to new IPs for PS4.

  • Red Dead Redemption Remastered. Seriously, Fired the original up the other day and was in awe at how amazing it still looks. The characters could do with some decent textures and better facial animation and some of the bugs could do with ironing out.

Other than that, Parappa The Rapper 3, God Of War, Final Fantasy VII Remake (We can dream right). I understand that these aren’t all Sony exclusives but y’know Arkham Knight isn’t and that was at Sony’s briefing last year.

  • My birthday on Tuesday too Fred :)

  • Will we be able to watch the Twitch stream through PS4 and Vita on the Live with PlayStation App?

  • Yo man cool

  • Will we be able to watch it on our actual ps4 machines

  • Well, I’m finally going to have to get a new PS4 after almost 2 years with a PS4’s infuriating “jet/vaccuum noise issue”. Didn’t want to return my brand new console with the chance I might get a refurbished one showing the same symptoms a week later, so I just went with it. By far, the worst 2 gaming years of my life (and even before that because my PS3 slim had a similar issue of being very loud due to the cheaper Chinese fans), an experience I wouldn’t wish upon my worst gaming enemy.. The noise has been driving me mad and I don’t like playing with headphones, though I’ve been forced to these last months.. This all started a week after I got it on EU launch when it suddenly completely shut off and I had to unplug it to get it on again. That’s when the noise started, annoying at first but quickly becoming even louder, more frequent and just plain maddening.. More so during gaming, but even during Netflix and all the time, as soon as I put it on. Over 2 years this has been messing up my gaming atmosphere.. Also had auto-ejecting issues regularly (not to mention DS4 sticks and triggers breaking down) and the occasional “red line of death” which has finally reached its climax, occuring twice yesterday after it had only been on for 10 minutes, and again today. Now I may have been extremely unlucky with my broken launch model but I can’t help but feeling Sony has been skimping out on quality in favor of pricing, and don’t like it one bit.. They used to be relatively expensive compared to the competition but in my experience their products were always high quality, down the to last and smallest detail. Hope they keep that in check.. In any case, supposedly they’ll announce a 1TB model at E3 so I hope it’s in stores soon after and that the latest models are sure to be free of all these issues, so I can continue Witcher 3 in heavenly silence..

  • As for E3 in general, I’m kind of hyped as always, but with both feet firmly on the ground. I get the feeling they’ve already announced a lot of their “big” games and we’ll just get to see more of those, although the prospect of the Last Guardian and GuerillaGames’ new IP keeps me excited. Personally hope it’s not going to be heavily oriented around Morpheus or whatever it’s called now.. Not my bag, that.. Same goes for Indies. An announcement that we’ll be getting PS4 AAA games regularly with PLUS would be nice ;)

  • Hoping it’s not too Morpheus heavy, like we had when the Move was released, gimmicky support titles and retro fitting older titles rather than a lot of new stuff.

  • i really wanna see project morpheus because I’m gonna pre-order this as soon as i can. one day ill be there at E3 its one of my dreams my other dream is to work for sony be a games designer I’m 18 and wanted this since i was 10

  • Morning Fred, is it possible to have real 3d ie side by side on ps4 for all content ?

  • Will you announce a fix for the slow download times? Wolfenstein: TNO has been downloading for 36h here, because the download keeps freezing (and it goes painfully slow when it doesn’t), then I need to go pause/unpause it. It would download in less than 1h on Steam (probably 15 minutes…). It’s my 1st and last purchase on PSN until this is fixed. Plus all the PSN downtime, not being able to play Driveclub for like a month… We need an update that makes the PS4 an actual 2015 gaming system because all the downtime and the 1Mb/s downloads feel like a 2003 PC.

  • I’m in Denmark and I don’t know what time or day ps4 will be on for e3 can any of you help me out?

  • Valkyria Chronicles to PS4 please…

You ported that awesome PS3 exclusive to PC which makes it not an exclusive anymore sadly but you won’t put it on PS4?

    • Sega made that.

and you probably know, Sega have been making some really boneheaded decisions lately.

  • i wonder what they’ll announce at E3 this year that they have no intention of bringing to europe.
    1, 2, 3, maybe four projects?

    • It’s one year ago exactly that a Sony executive stood on an E3 stage and in front of the global media announced their first proper TV show, free with PS+ via the PSN. So far, only available in the US both free and via PSN, France and the Nordica have it free but not via PSN and New Zealand, the only other country that has it at all, has to make a paid subscription to a third party service to get it.

It’s almost two years ago that a Sony executive stood on an E3 stage, in front of the global media, and announced that ges on PS4, if they were published by Sony, would be the exact same price that they were on PS3. Not only did this policy only to the US, but the prices of games this gen have increased already since the launch of the new consoles. Furthermore, its not just the Sony published that have increased in price before and during the new gen, but SCEE have also branches out into fiddling with third party publishing, changing their prices and release dates.

What sort of US only shenanigans will happen this year? Find out soon.

  • This seems to be the gen of remasters so far, so here we go: PS4 remasters of Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls 1, Valkyria Chronicles please! Oh, and while we’re at it, a sequel for Skies of Arcadia (hahaha, as if!)

  • The last 2 Sony conferences were worth waking up for at 3am – can’t wait

  • Just announced, Xbox One has 360 backwards compatibility for free.

    Get it together Sony!

  • Looms like Microsoft have won this year with their backwards compatibility announcement. They’ve just stopped anyone else jumping ship from 360 to ps4. Such a smart move and unfortunately I don’t think Sony have been trying enough to be able to beat that. If anything that’s the real #4theplayers feature. :-(

  • Sony needs a couple of megatons. And not talk so much, I don’t want to hear all that jibber jabber past 3 am. Microsoft’s conferences are to the point and well paced because they don’t tell their life stories on stage, Sony should copy that.

  • It might be not possible to beat Xbox One this year.

Backward compability on Xbox One with something similart to Japanese UMD Passport. You don’t need to re-buy your old games to play them on new console. That’s what SONY should have done with both PS4 and Vita.

That ReCore created by Inafune… looks exactly like something that should have been on PlayStation.

Fallout, Dark Souls 3, Tomb Raider again shown on Xbox One first.

CupHead looks georgous and Sea of Theives a pirate MMO looks stunning.

And that partnership between Valve and Microsoft. Both Oculus Rift and HoloLens.

    • Yeah, giving credit where credit is due. Never owned an Xbox system but that was a very good conference, I wasn’t bored for a single second unlike Sony conferences that always have multiple boring segments where they won’t shut their ego tripping faces up.

That Rare collection looks very interesting as well, a lot of value for only €30. I’d be so over that if I had an Xbone.

    • @zalwelgoedgaan
      Aye.

I’m PlayStation zelot through and through. Until now I was thinking that one had to be mad to buy Xbox One instead of PS 4. But that backward compability… it change a lot. Being able to play Witcher 2, Tales of Vesperia, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Fable, Magna Carta etc. means a lot.

I never found a reason to buy Xbox 360… but those games being on Xbox One… well… dunno.

Of course if PlayStation 4 had similar backward compability that would be overkill. Microsoft wouldn’t have a chance at all. But instead they decided to go for silly PlayStation NOW which requires you to:
      A. buy again games you gave to play them on PS4
      B. pay for quite expensive service.

So aye… that news IS a big thing.

It might be not possible to counter it on their conference.

Btw. are you planning on watching it live? Bit too late for me frankly speaking… need to get up and go to work :P

    • @Arc: I have a couple of weeks off but honestly, I’m a bit tired already. If I’m too tired by 1 am, then I’ll watch it tomorrow and try to avoid spoilers. I’d be okay if it ended at 3 am, but I’m pretty sure that the conference will have a delay as usual and that them rambling about irrelevant subjects (like they did with Powers) will make it more dreadful. :/

    • Xbox got it right and Playstation could do the same. They already have 350+ PS3 titles running on PS now. It shouldn’t be too hard to run these titles locally on a PS4 instead of having them streamed over the internet. At least they could give streaming access to titles already owned, but having players run their PS3 games locally would level the playing field again.

    • @bakayoyo Not possible, games were made on CELL and they won’t translate easily like that to play natively. With Xbone we all knew it could do it (although Don Matress said it couldn;t), its quite baffling why they waited so long to do this. The worse games console reveal of all time in May 2013 would have been a lot different if they had something like that.
Sony’s problem is, they could have at LEAST let us play PS1 and PS2 games on PS4, which would have been easily possible (even PS3 can play PS1 games and has a FULLY FUNCTIONING PS2 emulator built-in since 2011/2012) but they didn’t let us. And if they did it now, it would be pitiful looking after that Xbone feature. That is a massive mistake on their part.

@Archacus Except that doesn’t really make sense. As a Playstation enthusiast, I never touched 360 for the last 10 years too. And believe it or not I own 0 Xbox 360 games, digital and physical. So it means absolutely nothing to me. However it IS a big deal to reel back in those people who bought a PS4 and avoided Xbone. But you have to remember that the mainstream audience will moan about backwards compatibility for the first year of a console (if PS3 is anything to go by) but after 2 years, they prove that they really don’t care about it…. at all. After year 3, they don’t want to touch a game from the last gen ever again. Still an AMAAAAAZING feature for Xboners though.

  • The jury is out as we don’t know what Sony plans are yet, I think people are hash about Ps-now as a private beta of Ps-now it’s really good it easily quick to load up with-out downloading a game onto your HDD.

But the biggest advantage for PS-now is streaming games on your vita & tablets can Xbox do that. & cloud gaming is Sony baby before M$ had.

What Sony can do is put ps-now behind the plus pay-wall as a enhance PLUS service.

They already said there be no much 1st party games & no gamescom that tells me they going to put a lot of stuff at E3 or TGS.

  • Please be only PS4 only exclusive videos.
No “Console exclusive” stuff so it’s on pc too, you guys should aim to beat the other consoles and pc. Stop putting our games on pc…

  • Well, this has been a good conference so far! HAAHAHAHAHAH!

  • MUCH better than previous year. Sony should do them like this more often. Not much attention for the Vita, but the amount of filler was relatively low. Better than MS’s definitely.

  • WHHAAAAATTT

    SONY
    ARE YOU CRAZY?

WHY IS FINAL FANTASY VII NOT PS4 EXCLUSIVE??? Biggest reveal ever and this alone exclusive to a system will win and be the best selling console.

    MAKE THIS EXCLUSIVE. NOT TIMED
