Disney Infinity 3.0: Play Without Limits will feature three Star Wars Play sets: Twilight of the Republic set in the Episodes I-III timeline, Rise Against the Empire set during the original trilogy (Episodes IV-VI), and the third – available this winter – based on Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

In Twilight of the Republic, use the Force and Lightsabers in epic battles as Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Darth Maul. Rise Against the Empire will take you on galaxy-spanning missions with Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Darth Vader.

Disney Infinity 3.0 will also include a Play set inspired by Disney•Pixar’s upcoming film Inside Out, with all five Emotions — Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust — as playable characters. Fan-requested Disney characters Mickey, Minnie, Mulan, and Olaf will also be joining in the 3.0 Toy Box.

From the Marvel Universe, there will be a Marvel Play set that will feature new Marvel characters including Hulkbuster Iron Man and Ultron.

All-new Toy Box Expansion Games: Toy Box Takeover (action-adventure) and Toy Box Speedway (kart racing) will bring all of your Disney Infinity characters together for all-new, structured multiplayer gameplay. You can bring all of your Disney, Disney•Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars characters from previous editions of Disney Infinity into these Toy Box Expansion Games as well as the enhanced 3.0 Toy Box.

Yet another dev that doesn’t care to talk about the mysterious Vita version of their game. When is it coming? Is it going to be getting the 3.0 version, or left in the lurch with 2.0?

    • Disney infinity 2.0 is out on May 22 for vita. It comes with the spiderman play set.

It seems like 3.0 won’t come out on vita. Or at least it’s not announced to come out on vita

    • The Vita version of 2.0 is almost here, and aside from being single player only with a specially designed Bluetooth base, is said to be the same as the PS3 version I’ll hopefully know within the week when my review unit comes, so can update then.

Announcing 3.0 before the Vita version has arrived is a bit unfortunate though – the 4th May date makes sense for that announcement, but the Vita version should have hot stores long before that. Maybe they don’t want to announce a 3.0 for the Vita in case it impacts sales. Or they want to see how it performs.

  • Wasnt this game annouced for the vita too?

  • Look’s interesting, could be interested.

  • I don’t have Disney Infinity but was thinking about it lately. Is this backwards compatible?

  • The Vita is getting Infinity 2.0 in a few weeks, with a Spiderman character… I guess this means the Vita won’t get V 3.0 and I’m guessing they are not backward compatible (1 and 2 were not) – although it would be useful of Sony to clarify.

    • 2.0 characters and sets didn’t work with the first Disney Infinity so I would imagine that 3.0 figures and sets won’t work with 2.0.

  • At first I thought that “3.0” was a Gamespot rating.

  • No vita? : (

Also, can’t believe the Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Super Heroes game isn’t even out yet. : |

    • Next week in North America, and we get it on the 22nd. No Vita version of 3.0 has been announced, but Vita wasn’t announced for 2.0 either – that was confirmed at E3.

Any outside chance of 3.0 probably hinges on how 2.0 performs.

  • 3.0 still cant play 1.0 on ps4 >_<

I’d also like to point out Chewie’s face. O_O

  • First Disney Infinity was for childrens 2.0 nas 3.0 have a lore that is not inspired on kids imagination.
Localized language support is a must have when releasing games for kids, and they should inspire their games in most successful Disney movies, because that’s what kids want.

  • I WANT THIS IN MY VITA!

I like how Disney and Sony are both too ashamed to tell anyone the Vita version of 2.0 is finally out this week. What a trainwreck.
