Plus, pick up deals on Call of Duty titles and DLC expansion packs
First up this week, get a piece of the action in the Battlefield Hardline beta. Experience two of the new “Cops and Criminals” oriented modes with Heist and Hotwire or jump in a classic match of Battlefield Conquest in thrilling 24-player battles.
If someone showed me a screenshot of Apotheon, I’d have said it just looks like a painting, but by golly does this game look really good in motion. Feast your eyes on its beautiful art style as you climb Mount Olympus. Why would anyone climb Mount Olympus (apart from the mega leg gains)? To take the power of the Gods, of course! By the powers of Zeus, PlayStation Plus members will be able to enjoy Apotheon this month at no extra cost.
Also out today are Konami’s legendary RPGs Suikoden and Suikoden II. Foolishly, even I have not played it (this year, I hope!) but it sounds great. Lots of characters to recruit and a grand story involving betrayal and rebelling against an empire. Good fun, basically!
Rounding off the week, new PS Plus content swings in, and new discounts go live, from lots of things Call of Duty, to DLC for Dead Space and Skyrim, and neat indie games on PS4 and Vita.

First and foremost, thanks for the Suikoden games.
Judging from the response (or maybe more from a lack thereof) during past few weeks it seems like you guys don’t even want to reply to any of the concerns I’ve raised regarding Vita TV. Don’t you know how to answer, or are you just not interested in supporting a device you brought to the market? I really hope it’s not the latter.
Why are so many games not compatible even though many similar games are? Let’s take Final Fantasy games, for example. You mentioned Final Fantasy VII as one of the compatible games in the announcements of the device, but aside that and Final Fantasy X HD for Vita, none of the other Final Fantasy games, be it PS1 Classic or PSP games, are compatible. What is the reason for this? There should be no excuse for these games to not work, even the US version of Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection is listed compatible with the device. I managed to make Dissidia 012 work on the device, but strangely after few days the game just suddenly stopped working. I still don’t understand why that is, the device should be like Vita with all its compatibility with games, but it isn’t. Is the reason related to hardware, software or licensing? Or somewhere else?
I recently contacted Idea Factory about their Vita games’ compatibility, and they stated the Vita games need additional patching in order for them to work on Vita TV. This clearly can’t be the problem with PSP and PS1 games, since games that their publishers have abandoned a long time ago (such as Wild Arms XF and Riviera) are listed as compatible with the device. Why is it that the majority of PSP and PS1 games work on the device with no problems, but at the same time, some very major releases on both sides do not? Even with games from the same publisher, same platform and same game series? It’s really weird when games that with all logic should be compatible with device won’t work, or work for a while and later just stop working at all.
(continues)
There is this little word called “communication”, I’m sure you are familiar with the term since you have managed to have it on several occasions, so why not this? It would be so much easier to stomach this situation if you guys could at least reply to these questions and tell us that you are aiming to fix these things, tell us how these things work and what the obstacles are. But having a complete silence and hearing things like Youtube application support dropping for Vita from every source other than your own makes it feel like you really don’t care. Like you are just trying to sweep things under the rug and hoping that the problems go away by them being out of sight and out of mind. I would really like to believe it’s not like that, so could you please confirm it by talking things out?
I’m not certain of this but I remember reading somewhere that the Final Fantasy games that were on the PSP weren’t going to be supported for the PSTV, reason because Squaresoft doesn’t want to?
So with their IP’s it seems to be a choice or something, but like I said take this with a grain of salt because I don’t remember where I read it which might not have been a reputable source.
It’s up to developers. Sometimes it’s not always a matter of compatibility, but licensing. It’s a system of it’s own, just because it’s PlayStation, doesn’t mean it’s automatically allowed to be shared between systems.
@MaxDiehard
The problem is the contradicting information. At least my own attempts of contacting publishers regarding these matters have included answers like “it’s up to Sony” from NISA and Square Enix, while Idea Factory’s response was as I described it above.
