Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Comes to PS5 October 1

New narrative expansion, new combat survival mode, and much more.

Update (Aug 14, 2026): New tracks for Watanabe Mode were previously listed here as features in the Complete
Edition, but this blog has been updated to reflect that the tracks are included in the free patch on October 1, even
without purchasing the Complete Edition Upgrade.

Original Story: We are so excited to announce that even more new content is coming to Ghost of Yōtei! On October 1, we’ll have a new narrative expansion, new single-player combat survival mode, and new quality of life updates all coming in Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition!1

Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Comes to PS5 October 1

Before we dive in, we want to take a moment to thank everyone for an incredible year since Ghost of Yōtei launched. We are so proud of our incredible community, and grateful for all of the fan art, cosplays, virtual photographs, combat montages, Twitch streams, Jubei thirst posts…we promise we’ve seen it all and love to share it around the studio. Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition will launch just in time for our 1-year anniversary, and we can’t wait for another year of new creations from all of you!

In the coming weeks we’ll have much more to share, but wanted to give you a few early looks today at the new content in Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition:

Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara is our new narrative expansion. Split between the present day and flashbacks to Atsu’s time on the mainland, you’ll meet Nagato, a figure from Atsu’s past who has arrived in Ezo. In the present, you’ll explore a previously unseen valley once inhabited by The Snake and his gang of loyal followers, the Vipers. In the past, you’ll experience Atsu’s time in the Battle of Sekigahara and a key moment in her life before she returned home for her quest for vengeance. You’ll meet new enemies and find new heavy weapons, new armor sets, new dyes, and more.

Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted is a brand new single-player combat survival mode, our spin on a roguelike. You’ll accept bounties in order to start new runs, where taking down enemies will earn you perks, as well as unlock additional characters to play as. We’ll have much more to show soon, but as you can see in the trailer today, Atsu is a master with the dual katana, while Oyuki excels with the kusarigama, and Nagato shines with a yari. We love to watch the amazing combat reels that have been shared with us on social media, and can’t wait to see you all try to perfect these runs.

If you haven’t experienced Atsu’s journey yet, you can purchase Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition for $69.99 USD. In addition to Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted, this includes the award-winning main Ghost of Yōtei game as well as Ghost of Yōtei Legends, our online co-op experience with support for up to four players and multiple gameplay modes culminating in a Raid.2 If you purchase the Complete Edition, you can immediately start playing the main game and Legends, and Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted will arrive with a patch on October 1.

Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition also includes all of the in-game content previously included in the Ghost of Yōtei Digital Deluxe Edition, as well as the Charm of Hokkyokusei. If you purchase digitally by September 30, you’ll also get an early unlock of the Sakai Armor on October 1 for Atsu to wear, a throwback to Jin’s family armor from Ghost of Tsushima.1

If you already own Ghost of Yōtei, you can get Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted by purchasing the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Upgrade for $14.99 USD. If you don’t already own the Digital Deluxe Edition and Charm of Hokkyokusei you’ll immediately unlock that content upon pre-ordering. And if you pre-order by September 30, on October 1 you’ll also get the early unlock of the Sakai Armor.

Beyond the new content listed above, Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition includes new photo mode stamps, additional
cosmetics for New Game Plus, and new Trophies for both Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted.

For anyone who owns Ghost of Yōtei, even without purchasing the Complete Edition upgrade, a new patch on
October 1 will add the new Beauty of Yōtei mode, which allows for a screensaver-like view of the environments of
Ezo to keep on and relax at home (and take stunning new Photo Mode captures). We’ve also added new tracks for
Watanabe Mode that will be available throughout the entire game when the mode is enabled. There will also be new
quality of life features including the option to keep an armor set’s appearance while using a different set’s stats, as
well as a new high contrast accessibility option.1

Thank you again to everyone for an amazing year since Ghost of Yōtei launched! We’ll have more to share about Most Wanted and Echoes of Sekigahara as we get closer to launch on October 1, so be sure to follow our social media channels and keep an eye out!

1 Available via patch v.2.0 on October 1, 2026 globally, and October 2, 2026 in some territories, including Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Internet connection and account for PlayStation required to download.

  • Inconceivable! Just like with Jin Sakai, we get to journey to a new explorable region and learn more about Atsu’s past. I’m totally looking forward to the new and more possibilities in Ghost of Yotei: Complete Edition. I’m proud that Sucker Punch is adding the Clan Sakai Armor in the game, but I hope that they can also add Jin’s Ghost Armor and upgrades to the Ghost Stance where we can kill additional enemies when it’s active.

  • Interesting how they buried the physical version info in the trailer and it is not even in this article. Regardless, I will be picking this up physically.

  • I will be getting this via digital. I made the jump to digital back when I got the PS4 pro then dumped all physical disc for digital versions. I have the PS5 pro with a 4TB SSD. Will get PS6 day one and purchase the biggest SSD I can get. Will get the PS6 pro day one if they release one also. You all sound like ya care more about the disc than the actual game. Im a oncology nurse in my 40s. Life is short it’s taking devs 5-7 years to make these games. Im trying to enjoy this hobby for as long as I can. Im glad I got to enjoy all the kojima games and I will get to play GTA 6 this year. I don’t care if its digital or a disc just give me great games. Ghost of yotei is a great game and I glad they are making story DLC.

    • I don’t get how the possibility of a physical disc affects you and your digital-only legitimate choice. Care to elaborate?

  • Can’t wait to play this on PC lol

  • Will I be able to buy a physical edition so that I can play it even when you’ll pull it off from the store?

  • I regret getting the collectors edition because it did not include a physical version of the game.

  • You do realize that a significant portion of this modern AAA game’s sales were on disc, right?

  • only if all of it is on the disc , physical for ever

  • Whatever. Just let us buy new games on discs!

  • You killed the Legends mode. No way am I getting this dlc.

  • Hopefully Jin Sakai will return in the next game to get this series and this franchise back on track.

  • It’s funny that they are mentioning physical versions so much and yet they aren’t reversing course. My PSN will run out next month, will be the first time since PS3 that I have let it go.

I’m really sad that this is the way I end my streak. I Just really hope everyone sticks to their guns and doesn’t make this for no reason.

Damn shame I’ll be missing out on so much. it’ll can’t all be for nothing. Sony listen to your costumers it’s not to late.

  • I was gonna give this game a chance (I don’t like the main actress), but since you won’t release this on PC, I guess I’m not gonna get the chance to.

  • According to the trailer, yes, there will be a physical complete edition. However, we don’t know if it includes the additional content via voucher code or on disc.

    PLEASE BE ON DISC!

  • Please Sucker Punch, make Ghost of Tsushima 2 next bringing back Jin Sakai as (only) protagonist to continue his story.

  • I was interested for this release but unfortunately not all content is on the disk. Now I’ve lost my trust in Sony/{PlayStation who deletes movies and account without any compensation I just can’t buy this product.

  • So glad we’re getting DLC
for this game it’s been one of my favourite
ps5 games and hopefully wolverine will be another one to the list
    Give me games not discs

  • I can’t wait to play this edition. Ghost of Yōtei is truly one of my favorite games!

  • Good to see Sony listening and giving this game an actual physical copy of the complete edition rather than just making it fully digital with a £70 price tag. I opted for the £11 upgrade because I’d rather not spend the money on buying the game again but with a newer cover art. Can’t wait to play the expansion on October 1st!

  • The only thing I’ve been asking for since the game came out and they’re doing it.

More tracks for the Watanabe mode!

I’ll play New Game+ just for that. Really hoping they hit all the same areas that the OST does. It would be for the whole to be rescored with beats. Can’t wait.

  • Everyone that bought(aka rented) it previously got the Incomplete edition 😂

  • 0 interest in digital only releases.

  • cloud streaming in Australia and nz plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Sony plzzzzzz we do have good infestucture

  • I’m excited for this. I was on my 4th NG+ and thought this year I’d have to finally platinum the game and move on. Thanks SP and Sony. I have another reason to continue gaming!

  • no disc no buy no greedy sony
