PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for Jan 2025: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered, The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe

All playable January 7.

Happy New Year! Kick off your 2025 gaming sessions by taking on (and taking out) a league of corrupted super heroes, race on both sides of the law and escape office life with the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for January. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe launch January 7 for PlayStation Plus members*.

Let’s take a closer look at the games.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League | PS5

Take down The Justice League yourself in single-player or team up with friends in multiplayer co-op in this genre-defying, action-adventure third-person shooter from Rocksteady Studios, creators of the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham series. Featuring an original narrative set within an expansive open-world city of Metropolis, the game puts the four DC Super-Villains on a collision course with an invading alien force and DC Super Heroes who are now laser-focused on destroying the city they once vowed to protect. All the while, the Suicide Squad must be mindful of the lethal explosives implanted in their heads that could go off at the first sign of defiance. Each squad member has their own unique moveset with enhanced traversal abilities to freely explore the dynamic open-world of Metropolis, along with a variety of weapons to customize, and skills to master.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered | PS4

Feel the thrill of the chase and the rush of escape in Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. Unleash a savage sense of speed both as an outlaw and a cop in the world’s hottest high-performance cars. Outsmart the heat or take down lawbreakers with the tactical weaponry at your disposal in a heart-pumping, socially competitive racing experience. Updated with enhanced visuals, cross-platform multiplayer – including the asynchronous competition powered by Autolog – plus all additional DLC content, this is the ultimate edition of Criterion Games’ critically acclaimed Need for Speed debut. It’s time to reignite the pursuit.

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe | PS4, PS5

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is an expanded re-imagining of the critically acclaimed, award winning indie game The Stanley Parable from 2013. Everything that was in the original Stanley Parable is here, preserved just like it was back in 2013. But The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe also dramatically expands the world of the original game with new content, new choices, and new secrets to uncover. The labyrinth has just gotten bigger. In addition, the game has been visually upgraded to reflect modern technology while faithfully preserving the tone of the original game. Accessibility features have also been added to the game, including localization of in-world text, colorblind options, and content warnings. And just as before, the impeccable voicework of Kevan Brighting will accompany you every step of the way.

All three games will be available to PlayStation Plus members on January 7 until February 3.

Last chance to download December’s games

PlayStation Plus members have until January 6 to add It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent and Temtem to their game libraries.

  • I like it! Suicide Squad is perfect to mess with for free since it’s obviously not great. I still want to form my own opinion. I’m always down to try different racing games but tbh they JUST released My First Gran Turismo, so it’s weird they added a racer. Been dying to try Stanley Parable for years. B grade overall.

  • Already own need for speed

    Not interested in suicide squad

    Stanley parable is hosted

I can’t wait for another run or 30

  • So a terrible game, an old game that’s available on EA Play and a completely unknown game……looks like 2025 is off to a great start 😓😓😓

  • January monthly games from last year was great (A Plaque Tale: Requiem, Evil West)

And we kicked off 2025 with Need For Speed: Most Wanted Remastered (YAY). The Stanley Parable (Under the radar indie game), and then, you have one of the biggest examples of AAA live-service games that became a running joke. The Folie A Deux of bad live-service games, Suicide Squad Kills The Justice League. That’s the best you can do, Sony? Game Pass for me. Goodbye, PS Plus. You lose, sir. Good day.

  • Making Suicide Squad the star of this month’s selection…a game none of us bought even when it was $5 because of how bad it is…that is a very odd choice.
Companies are really trying to push this hard and no one is biting.

  • Another disappointing month, no one wants any of these games.

  • sony 6

  • A game that will cease to have any support soon, a 12 year old game that’s been “remade”? And another bad remastered. Everytime I see the monthly games it’s always the driving factor on why I don’t buy even the essential tier

  • At this point… it’s pretty much pointless buying games. Just wait for a few months and they’ll be out for free. Lol

  • I am from Belgium and play GTA 5 I have already bought a plane twice I have lost my money but no plane what should I do

  • Who can help me with GTA 5 to earn a lot of money I am angelikaaligria on the Playstation thanks in advance I am from Belgium

  • Junk selection IMO. Hope Extra makes up for it.

  • Easy Sony! we don’t want another price increase!

  • New Year older games. I wouldn’t ask for something released in the past 2 months. But, 2 of the 3 is at least 2 years old and the 3rd is still having serious problems (from what I have been told by a friend who pre-ordered justice league.) When sony started cutting down the number of free games, they stated that it would improve our gaming selection. Instead we got the same level of games, just fewer numbers. Instead of 6-8 games of varying quality. Now it’s 3 of varying quality. Without a holiday PS+ discount, like years past, wait we got a sony movie credit with limited number of choices

  • In my opinion suicide squad is the best game rocksteady has done since Arkham Knight so I really don’t understand what other gamers are complaining sometimes I feel this generation, people complain just to complain.

  • Idk if I can justify taking ps plus over game pass if suicide squad is the best we getting…

  • Thank you for continuing to bring value to PlayStation Plus. To enhance the service further, here are a few suggestions:

Newer Titles: Including more recent releases would keep the lineup exciting for all members.
Avoid Server-Reliant Games: Live-service games with poor reviews or server shutdown risks (Suicide Squad) lessen the appeal. Complete offline-ready games or deluxe editions would be a better fit.
Subscriber Flexibility: Offering a selection of games to choose from or credits for alternative purchases would give members more control.
Focus on Classics: Adding PS1/PS2/PS3 classics regularly to the Essential tier would be a great nostalgic touch.
Loyalty Rewards: Recognizing long-term subscribers with bonuses like exclusive themes or discounts would foster goodwill.
Looking forward to seeing how PlayStation Plus evolves. Thank you!”

  • What a joke!

  • First month of 2025 and we get games from 2013 and 2010?

Not exactly starting the year with your best foot forward.

Congratulations on getting your new console kid! Here’s a couple of games that over a decade old!”

Suicide Squad is actually a lot of fun though, and actually has a lot of that Rocksteady shine. People are harsh on it without trying it first.

  • Suicide Squad is a terrible choice.

  • I’ve not had PS Plus since August I think. I only really play Elden Ring.

But the Stanley Parable is a great Indie game and the deluxe version for me makes it worth a resubscription even if only for the month.

Suicide squad not everyone will like it but seems like a decent punt.

I don’t play racing games but seems like a decent choice for those who do.

You only need one game that peaks your interest to get value from the month.

That being said I’ll probably cancel after I play Stanley Parable. I have Elden Ring, and that along with other Soulsborne games is all I need

  • Dear Sony,
I would rather have essential tier with no games just online, and cheaper. Lame old games are less exciting than none.

  • Charging us more and progressively giving us worst games, this month made me cancel my subscription. Probably gonna get xbox gamepass instead.

  • 𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙞𝙩 𝙪𝙨, 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙪𝙨. 🔥

  • Sony is dying
    –.–.–

  • Sony is a Batman from the Justice League, Somebody help them out from game business.

  • Justice League was given free on Amazon Prime/Epic about 6months ago…

  • 1 Terrible game and 2 good but very old games.

  • Why do I pay you money ? Oh yea for the hope of actual good games to be released on ps plus.

  • A game that was deemed dead last month, a racing game, and a deluxe rerelease of a puzzle game.

    What a lazy, lazy month.

  • Yay more white that won’t get played

  • I don’t have either of these games but used to love the O.G Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. Looking forward to playing the new one.
    Good month again for me!!!
Suicide squad looks meh, but ill try it since it’s free.

  • 100% they complain just to complain.

  • Added them both games in library, thanks for greatness!

  • And now i am going to Enjoy a lot!! , a lot of trophies a lot of fun in Suicide Squad!!!
i waited for this moment to came!!! And be greatness with some of us FOREVER!!!

  • At what point on the seventh are these games free. Almost noon on the day of and still no dice

  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League…wow, really? Back when Sony jacked up the prices for Playstation Plus, they stated that it was to add more value and features to the service. I am still waiting for that with the Essential tier, and nope…same worthless pay wall blocking me from my own internet for multiplayer games with no additional value whatsoever, at a higher price.

  • perfect

  • They really need to bring back that rule to not include games below 70% in metacritic. What a wasted slot for an Essential game. 👎
