Attend your very first film festival in Fontaine and team up with the newest playable characters Navia and Chevreuse!
Muskets,” the last update of 2023 arriving on Dec 20. With the biggest crisis solved with our previous update, the people in Fontaine are now organizing a film festival to celebrate one of their most important traditions, the Fontinalia Festival!
Meanwhile, we will be welcoming two firearms experts to our roster of playable characters, Navia and Chevreuse. As our adventure in Fontaine continues, permanent gameplay modes such as Genius Invokation TCG and the Serenitea Pot will also be updated with more items and gameplay.
Lights, Camera, Action!
The Fontinalia Festival commemorates the legendary Lochknights who welcomed the former Hydro Archon Egeria to Fontaine. And this year, a new way to celebrate is proposed, that is — the Fontinalia Film Festival! The public is invited to submit films for evaluation and the entry with the highest score will be presented with the “Furina Award” by the Fontaine Film Association.
While the local talents and even Furina herself are busy making their films, guests from abroad like you the Traveler, the Kamisato siblings and Inazuma-born fashion icon Chiori are also invited to attend. Kamisato Ayato and Ayaka are invited by Xavier as actors. And Chiori, the owner of the famous Chioriya Boutique in the Court of Fontaine and designer of Navia, Lyney, and Lynette’s clothes, will finally appear in the story.
For non-filmmakers, there are festival booths and mini-games where one can explore filming or just have fun. At the “Into the Frame” booth, participants can discover different camera positions and narrative techniques to make a short film. The second booth features a marksmanship mini-game supported by the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol. Other popular mini-games, such as Stabilization Mekaball Co-Op challenges and combat challenges, will also be available. Travelers who take part in the festive events will receive Theater Tickets that can be exchanged for various rewards, including the 4-star claymore “Ultimate Overlord’s Mega Magic Sword.”
The Soaring Yellow Rose and the Captain of the Patrol
The Fontinalia Festival also offers us the opportunity to get to know the two new playable characters, Navia and Chevreuse. These two ladies are not only leaders of important factions defending Fontaine but are also adept at firearms.
Known as “The Soaring Yellow Rose,” Navia has been a capable and loyal friend, and we can finally recruit her into the team as a five-star Geo character. Decked out in an ornate gown and fine hat, Navia wields a gunbrella adorned with gemstones and silk ribbons, the very picture of silk hiding steel. As the President of the Spina di Rosula, she takes on the mantle of protecting the people of Fontaine when official authorities fail. In combat, Navia demonstrates her talents with firearms. Using her Elemental Skill, Navia opens her elegant yet lethal Gunbrella, firing several “Rosula Shardshots” that penetrate enemies, dealing Geo DMG. The number of shots is determined by the number of “Crystal Shrapnel” charges accumulated by obtaining Elemental Shards generated by the “Crystallization” reaction. Another source of “Crystal Shrapnel” is Navia’s Elemental Burst, where she calls for a magnificent Rosula Dorata Salute that bombards enemies relentlessly. In addition to the damage she deals, Navia’s Elemental Burst periodically collects “Crystal Shrapnel” in preparation for the next round of barrage.
Chevreuse, the current captain of Fontaine’s Special Security and Surveillance Patrol and a 4-star Pyro polearm user, also uses a musket in combat. With her Elemental Skill, Chevreuse can fire shots that deal AoE Pyro DMG and continuously heal the active character on the field after each shot. Her Elemental Burst, on the other hand, fires an explosive grenade at enemies, which splits into multiple secondary explosive shells. Navia will be featured in the first half of Event Wishes with the return of Kamisato Ayaka, while the second half will feature Chevreuse as well as the reruns of Raiden Shogun and Yoimiya.
More Updates in Fontaine and the Return of Beetle Battles
As the land of Fontaine unfolds, more Fontainian elements will be added to our permanent gameplay modes. Genius Invokation TCG will receive a new update named “Radiant Secrets,” adding a plethora of new cards, more NPCs to duel within the open world and the Cat’s Tail Tavern, and a new limited-time Heated Battle Mode “Sprinting Stratagems.” A Fontaine-style realm layout will soon be added to the Serenitea Pot system, allowing you to build across several smaller islands connected by ocean currents.
We are also bringing back previous events but with new iterations. Far from home in Liyue, Itto travels with his new Beetle Battle plan, adding the new “Guard” mechanic to defend against or repel enemies’ Electro attacks. Back in Fontaine, the treasure-seeking event “Lost Riches” has made a comeback with new underwater quests. Last but not least, our dear old friend Liben is back with generous Primogem rewards for Travelers to redeem.
We’ve also made other optimizations to make your adventure even smoother. For example, you can now check which Artifact Sets have been chosen for a specific character recently by more active players, and you can also automatically auto-lock all existing and new Artifacts that meet your filtering requirements. The one-click function has been added, which can be used to collect expedition rewards, replicate your expedition deployments, and claim processed ingredients and forged items. Some Archon Quest prerequisites will also be simplified.
That’s all we’d like to share today. After the thrilling adventure in Fontaine, we hope you enjoy a fun and relaxed time in Teyvat with Version 4.3. Thank you, Travelers! And we can’t wait to meet you in 2024!
